All about perception

  • I have really big calves... so does my mom. She still moans a little about not being able to buy go go boots in the 60's because her calf was always too large to go into them. I drool over boots, but can't afford custom made, so no boots for me.

Last night I was working with my trainer and we did free weights for shoulders then moved to machines for leg work. He looks down at my calves and enviously compliments me on them. I was shocked... and explained how I always hated them and would love if they got smaller. He laughed a little and said... no, mine are small... yours are awesome.

(oh yes... then he said.. ok, no more working your calves... we'll try to keep them from getting any bigger. Is he great, or what?)
  • That is one thing that I have always wished I would have inherited from my Mom, she has big calves but they are super muscular and in heels they look hot! Mine are smaller and not nearly as defined no matter what I do! So embrace those calves, tone them up and put on a good pair of heels!
  • Lucky you! I hope to get calves that look that good one of these days.

    Oooh yes I agree!!!
  • Ha! Thanks for saying this. I, too, have enormous calves. All those gymnastics and dance classes (and later, soccer) as a child built my muscles up. My husband LOVES them and is jealous of them...I think my legs are better suited for a man.
