Things have been crazy this morning already, but I've been good twice already! I have to catch a flight this afternoon, but I really wanted to run my 2 miles (which I usually do in the evening), so I got my butt up at 4 to run before work. Then while I work I had to do something standing at a counter right next to a big box of the most delicious looking donut holes I'd ever seen! What was worse was that I had to smell the things for like 10 minutes! Torture :dizzy:

Anyway, I hope everyone has a great day!

:wave::wave: Hey ladies!

I just wanted to pop in for a minute and whine.

:dizzy::dizzy:

I have added kettlebells to my workout. Well, more precisely A kettlebell. This one is a ten-pounder and supposed to be good to start with. So far I am doing three moves with it. This swing thing from a squat. And a one armed swing into an overhead push up type thing (sorry for the terminology-- I am a complete newb with this thing) And then a row type move.

This thing SUCKS-- by 'sucks' I mean works the heck out of my arms. I was panting! OMG.

Amazing. Good bye bat wings. I don't see you surviving the summer if I keep using this thing!

:hug:Will come back later for a more detailed chat! Keep up the good work girls!

I love love LOVE kettle bells!!!!! I cannot wait for Jillian Michaels kettle bell dvd to be released!

Rebound - good thing you got that run in this morning! I find the best resistance to bad food is having worked your tail off earlier...I don't want to forsake my effort!

707G - Welcome! Looking forward to getting to know you!

Parked - I was looking at some kettle balls the other day...not real sure what to do with them! I should just get some...I'm sure then come with a pamphlet of instructions.

We got back from TX last night. We had stayed in KC Friday night after driving 17hrs. Our kids were SO unbelievably good in the car. I feel so blessed to have traveled 2,500 miles without so much as a hiccup!

Here's a link to the photos if you're interested:

I used a lot of restraint with my eating, but did not get any workouts in. I was sick and coughing much of the time and even lost my voice for several days. I had a couple of beers 4 days in a row...not the norm and an extra 200cals!! I admit, last night I went out with a bang and had a plate of deluxe nachos from my fave mexican place... I usually can eat the whole thing, but stopped before I was super duper full - now that's progress!

Today, back to the hard hard work of shedding the last half of my weight. I got up at 6:30 and ran 2.5mi in the pouring rain, hacking and coughing with my knee feeling sore. Wish I coulda done more - but all odds were against me!

I did weigh myself today and am up .6 That's okay - it's likely all water, then from some salty foods and will take care of it pronto. Not to shabby for being at the beach for a week with a cold. ;)

Missed you gals!!

Hi Ladies!

I have a lot of reading to catch up on!!

Mollz- You are doing wonderfully! Kicking some butt! The more you lose the harder it gets. I agree with Mel on the eating to little and burning to much. It is frustrating that you work out so hard and watch every morsel and still no progess. Do you track your bodyfat%? I bet that's changed a lot! Hang in there, the plateau will break!

Pixie-Sorry to hear you were sick on vacation! Sounds like you had the same thing I've been battling for a few weeks.

Thank you all for the congrats on the job! I can't tell you how much relief and stress is off my shoulders! I've decided to celebrate with this pendant http://www.walmart.com/ip/Adina-Reyt...klace/12548046. Butterflies are my thing. I love them! Kind of a belated birthday gift to me and just a splurge of something for me. I rarely do that anymore. Everything I buy has a reason. Clothes for work because I have to replace those that have worn out, workout equip I needed, dvd's etc.Never something just because for me.

For the last few weeks I've been battling a cold, then relapsed with it. FINALLY I am feeling great now! Getting back on track with both diet and exercise. My goal is to lose these finally 15lbs by the end of the year! I'm giving myself that much time, cause I know it's gonna be a battle.

I've had a hard time breaking out of the 170's due to fear. This realization came to me yesterday during a jog. First it's been the "I hit goal, then what" I've been trying to lose weight all my life, I don't know any other way. I've conquered that with this. Hitting my goal is just one goal, when I do I shift to my second goal. That one is more fitness orientated. Strenght and etc. Now I'm working on the big one. What has me completely scared is the attention that being at goal will have. I'm a shy girl, who is NOT comfortable in the spotlite. Being at goal for me means not having that "fat suit of armor" to protect myself. So I think it's one day at a time for now.

30DS is coming along. I got a late start on level 2 with the cold and relapse, but I'm on day 4 today! Jillian is killing my shoulders and upper back! I love it! Level 3 however looks..umm really killer! I may stay at level 2 for an extra 5 days just be certain I have the strength for level 3. I give myself 1 day of complete rest and one day of just a Yoga or 30DS workout. Normally I do 30DS with either BL Cardio Max or Weightloss Yoga.

Oh you are not gonna believe this! Remember I told you about that "friend" who was always cancelling plans and wanted all my agency contacts? Well I "de-friended" her on Facebook. And now she keeps trying to friend me again! Just recently too. I know that one is she's trying to find out what she can of what I know about that job we both interviewed for. I heard that she's job-hopping these days. Which is not good.

That's about it from here! Nothing really exciting to write about.

Mollz 06-20-2010 02:57 PM

Jenn: good on you for defriending her. Most of my friends are geeks like me-- I've only had 3 people unfriend me and it was because they were leaving FB forever.

MP: Like I said earlier on FB- it looks as though you had an awesome holiday! Kids are looking good (and they're good-looking kids!).

707: :welcome: to the group! I'm looking forward to chatting with you!

Me? I'm plugging along. Still going. Had a 10-day break from the gym due to housework that needed doing (still isn't done) and exams and studying. So, back on it today. I'm away from Tuesday through to Friday on a course, but I know where the gym is there and am bringing some gym clothes with me.

Gotta run. Have a good day girl and boys!

RunningToSmile 06-20-2010 11:22 PM

Hi All,

Welcome to anyone new, glad to have you in the group! We motivate and encourage each other....it's very helpful to have a rough day and then hear that others are struggling, see what they're doing to get through, get some tips, etc.

I worked out tonight around 1930 (7:30 pm) and felt great about that! I hadn't been able to get to it before then. Today was Father's Day celebration for my husband, after church the kids and I took him out to lunch (I ate a low fat, low cal entree and two boneless chicken wings, not too bad). We are leaving for Arizona on Tuesday, flying out at 1130, and I am madly trying to make all of the arrangements and pack, pick up incidentals, etc. I hope that our 3 and 6 year old do well with the flight (it's their first). I'd use a little Benadryl on my son, but he get hyper with it (opposite of what I'd want obviously). But, I am excited! Looking forward to a working vacation--I am attending a conference, usually just 3 hours in the morning, so have most of the day to spend with my family and do tourist-y things.

I gained a pound last week, not surprised, have not been working out much, or logging my food. The test will be this week of vacation....I'm hoping to enjoy it, have some treats, but also work out some and not get too off track.

Have a great week, I will be roasting in 110 degree heat and enjoying some time with my husband and children! Bring on the water and sunblock. :)

R :)

Evee I am having a love/hate relationship with my kettlebell so far. I am going to use it everyday at lunch this summer and see if I can eliminate these batwings I have going on. :D

mortonpixie Glad you had a good car trip! I took my 9 year old on a ten hour drive to Georgia this year and he did amazingly well. I was so pleased. I thought for sur eit would end up being a nightmare!:p

Violin Jenn I LOVE that pendant! How nice! And also glad to hear that your cold is clearing up. I have never done L2 or L3 of the shred, but I have heard reviews that L3 is MUCH easier than L2... Let me know when you get there! I am still on L1.

Mollz  I had a little binge this weekend (ate a thousand calories of Peanut M&Ms) and this morning I was up THREE pounds to 202.4. :(:(

Back in the twos. DAMMIT! Well, this morning I have already had my water for the day-- ran W2D1 of C25K and planned out a healthy lunch. I am determined to get back to 199 or lower. I am having a health scare right now-- that could range from needing some surgery to possibly having chemo. So, yeah-- my head is not in the best of places right now. But I am going to keep going.

Can't pull out all of the stops for every 'what -if' along the way right?:)

I'm going to say this, coz I REALLY need to get it off my chest. I found a bag (well 2 bags) of chocolate-chip-type candies in my pantry. Mom must have sent them ages ago. I've been digging into them. A few here, a few there (Reese's peanut butter chips and Heath toffee chips). Pop them in yoghurt at night, a handful before dinner and after dinner and maybe a couple of handfuls after working out for a "quick energy boost". Go me. :p
