Thought that I would check in and see how everyone is doing!
So.... how is everybody doing?
In my world, the weight is up a little. I am in week 2 of C25K and am doing *ok* with it. My knees hurt like crazy and I stopped and picked up some glucosamine, hoping that will help.
I finally got my ticker and it made me really realize how much I've been bouncing up and down over the last month, so I bit the bullet and signed up for a personal trainer at the gym. Luckily my gym, is more like Average Joe's in the movie Dodgeball than the high pump glossy type. I had a nice long talk with both trainers, and they really seemed to listen to me and my goals. We'll see where I am after 12 weeks of butt kicking!
JayMar- good for you!! It's one of my goals to get a personal trainer too.. we are worth it! And what a great, non-food reward to give yourself. Let me know how it goes.
Thanks for the encouragement Nicole! I really appreciate it!
OK.. had my first trainer workout tonight and I did pretty well, but I am sore already! We laughed alot.. which i really like, and he's fitting me in for a free session to get me on track between my scheduled once a week appts. We did arms with barbells and abs on the floor. I impressed him with my plank skillz! grins.
I wooshed to 190 exactly this morning, but I never believe anything until three days after to see if it sticks.
And I think I'm getting smaller... my cellulite is sticking out more on my bottom. So silly... I'm grossed out and happy all at the same time!
Can I hop in here? I'm sorta starting today, at 198. Actually I've lost about 13 lbs before, stalled, gained 5 back, maintained for a while at 198 and now I'm finally getting serious about this. I can't remember the last time I was below 190!
hello all,
i'm new to this, and this is my first post ever to this forum... I joined because I got the scare of my life last week... For the first time, I crossed the 190 mark (and not in a good way)... (I had been hovering in the high 180s, and never thought i'd go over that.)
I am welcoming myself back after a week in the 180's (189)...
I took some time off working out and logging my calories, and of course this made me gain 2 lbs. Hope to be out of here again soon!
Shinyroom, welcome aboard! As you look around the forums you'll see that one thing doesn't work for everyone. I'm a calorie counter now for the first time in my life, and that seems to be working along with varied exercise.
My best advice is to be honest to yourself, understand that when you fall down you pick yourself right back up and get back on track, don't beat yourself up for things you've done, think about how you will make different choices the next time, and don't be afraid to ask the people on this forum anything! They've been there, they've seen it all.
Hi everyone! Just wanted to check in and see how everyone was doing. I've had a stomach bug so haven't been on in a while. I hope everyone is doing well and has a wonderful weekend.
I have sporadic internet access, so there's a timelag here...
I am so bummed. I weighed myself yesterday and I was up to 192. 192!
I went in reverse of where I was supposed to go.
the one thing I can console myself with is that my period just started today, so maybe at least 1 pound of that was water weight that i'll lose by the end of this period cycle?
TOM can definatly cause a stand still or a gain. Just stick with your eating and exercise plan and you will probably see a decrease after he's gone.
As for me I just got over a stomach bug. I know the lose won't stick, but I was thrilled to see 193.5 on the scale. It's been a long time since I was under 195. Hope everyone has a good Monday!!
So sorry to hear that Shiny! I've had a few spikes up in the last two months since I "got serious". I weigh every day so I'm learning my body's ups and downs day to day. I notice that after I do weights with my trainer I go up the next day. I'm not sure why this is.
And BabyBoop.. I always remember the bit in Romy and Michelle's High School reunion when they talk about mono being the best thing that could have happened to Romy because she lost all her excess weight.
I notice that after I do weights with my trainer I go up the next day. I'm not sure why this is.
When you tear your muscle fiber (which I'm sure you tear all sorts of new ones when you're working out with your trainer!) it retains water for the next few days in order to repair itself.
There you go!
I'm hoping to be able to join you guys soon. I can taste Onederland and I hope to see it in person next Tuesday!
