Default 30 Something chat: Thurs. Nov 15

GOOD MORNING!!!

Hope everyone had a good day yesterday...just did my treadmill. I think Alicia asked how long 2.5 mi. takes me. Today it was 32 mins. usually it's anywhere between 30-35 mins. depending on how many jogging spurts I throw in.

Well...down one more pound today!!! YAY!!! It's funny cause I wasn't losing anything for months, then got my IUD out about 5 weeks ago, and have lost 5 lbs. since!!! Now, I know that's not fast, but for me, it's more likely to stay off when I do it this way.

Today DD has her preschool Thanksgiving "feast", then we are going to the new Borders that is opening down the street today. They just put a huge "Lifestyle Shopping Center" in about 1/4 mile up the road from us. It's basically an outdoor mall. Has a Bath & Body Works, Victoria's Secret, Gymboree, PF Changs, lots of other stores. Very cool to be so close, but WAY too much traffic!!! Oh, well, at least I won't have to go to the mall anymore, since the only reason I ever really went there was to go to VS!!

Okay, gotta go get a shower. Hope everyone has a super day. It's 60 degrees here now, supposed to go to 40 by the afternoon...brrr!!! Lauren and beachmomma are probably experincing the same thing, right girls?

Have a super day!!!

Hi Pam,

Sounds like things are going well and good job on the weight loss!

I'm new here (again)...but figured I would join y'all if it's okay. I've been married for about 2 months now and I've steadily gained weight (slowly) since my hubby and I first started dating. Thankfully, I've pretty much held my own though and not gained much since we married, but I would love to try to lose 10 lbs by Christmas.

So I'm setting up some goals for myself. I'm going to try to exercise 30 minutes a day and cut back portions (except for on Thanksgiving itself and special events). Hopefully this will work. I've not been getting the exercise I need. I'm also going to switch back to drinking mainly water rather than the tea and lemonade that I've been drinking more regularly for the last few months

Pam that sounds really cool about the shopping mall opening close to you. I hope that your trip to Borders goes well. Have a wonderful day!

It's in the 50s here this morning, and scheduled not to get of the sixties...then a COLD night tonight...but that's a good thing. I'd hate for it to be hot for Thanksgiving.

Have a great day!

Hello all,

Pam we had the cold front move in last night, so I went to bed it was relatively warm ~ then wake up to cold. We have several outdoor malls. Went to PF Changs for the first time in Oct. YUMMY! Congrats on the loss.

GG, I hear ya on it being the only day off. I got asked last night if I could come in Friday. I said yes, cause I could always use the money and it is for only 3 hours. (Bonus: I can wear jeans and tennies)

I got a call yesterday from the district office where my church is, and they want an interview. I have to call today to make the appt. I am soo excited. Maybe this way I can do retail just at night. This wouldn't be so dangerous for my credit cards.

lol at lisa- so in otherwords...you working retail...you spend money on all the great discounts because you also get an employee discount right. Yes that would be very bad.

Hi All,

My poor choices yesterday showed up on the scale, I'm up .8 this AM...hopefully I've learned from it!!

Pam, yup, they were saying it was 60 on my way in this AM (my car said 51??), and that it's going down to 40's tonight. WTH?? Good job on the jogging!

GG, enjoy your day off!

Lisa, Good luck with the job! It's certainly not good to be spending everything you make!! Might as well work for free!

Lo, Welcome! (back!) Congrats on your marriage!

Well I have a project that I have to get before 1, so I better get cracking on it.

Lisa: GOOD LUCK sweetness! Fingers crossed for ya! I know what you mean about retail....when I was @ JCP as my 3rd job just 4 years ago it was a nightmare. They'd have clearance racks and then with coupons and my emp. discount I got stuff dirt cheap. The problem was....I'd get a whole LOT of stuff! Didn't wind up being so cheap.... LOL

GG: Have fun on your day off muffin!

ALL: THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT-ESPECIALLY FOR THOSE 30'S NOT USED TO ME YET- I am only joking when I talk about wanting to be an exotic porn model and stuff like that. If I have offended anyone please send me a pm so I can do my apologizing. I am a little phreakie and like to talk a lot of smack...but @ the end of the day I do resemble normalcy. After all, I live with a hamster and spend most of my free time cleaning the gutters @ home or watching Law & Order reruns.

Just thought I might need to make that clear as my "dark edge" can often rub people the wrong way!

Mo, thanks ~ and I know what you mean about clearance, coupons, and discount. Sunday we have a special discount of 35%. That is downright deadly.

Well my project is done, so now I have to go clean my room ~ washing the sheets, sweeping, and all that sort of stuff. I know it's my day off but I still have to work (clean). I will have play time later though.

good morning everyone!

loba! good to have you here, this is great place!

Melinda I sent you a pm!

Lisa I hope the interview goes well, how exciting, did they contact you first? I am glad you are getting the extra hours, I know what you mean by working retail and spending the money at work, that is pretty crazy, I used to work retail for Nordstrom in the lingerie department, I didn't really care so much for the lingerie stuff, but I did for everything else  so basically I didn't bring any income home!

Lauren if I was you I would not worry at all about not being great on the food department, look how great you are doing! you are doing some GREAT progress!

GG enjoy your day off, any fun things planned? can I ask you a question about the little dudes (yorkies) Susie's dog Thor has not been eating, he does this for a while, it is not new, but I am getting a little worried about him, I feed them Royal Canin for yorkies, I think it is one of the best foods out there is that right? anyway, I don't know if he doesn't like it of what, is there anything I should do, like give him any kind of yorkie suplements, I am affraind of changing food brand, the royal canin has no corn in it, which I know is not good for them and changing the brand my give them the runs, do you know of any other good food like that? I hope you don't mind me asking. thanks!

Pam good job on another Lb.! that is great! you are great! wow, I love to back, but I don't know about all does cookies!

Well I didn't have a great day yesterday, I didn't want to post as I was in a really crabby mood, my medicine is not being to kind to me, I was so constipated I wanted to die!
Michael didn't have his car here, he left it at work since Friday, I was suppose to drive him to work in the AM, instead he took my car and I got a ride later in the day to pick my car up, I was hoping they could do an oil change while he had the car there, but they didn't have the time, which sux!
The afternoon w/Sean was very good!
I have to find a way for him to eat more vegetables.
Oh my G-d I have to share w/you guys, when I go to pick my car up at Michael's work he tells me oh by the way, yes we are doing thanks giving at home and we have between 15 and 20 people over! hellooo!!!! I was thinking I was going to be lucky if I got mom and dad to come, not! so I am staring to get ready, I have to go grocery shopping! getting an appointment for the little dudes to get groomed was not that easy, they are booked but they must go to get pretty before the holidays! LOL. So I am going to try someone new, wish me (them) luck! In a way I am excited though, I love to have people over, we are going to have a good time!!!
Today I have a lot of paper work to do at home, filing and going through the little piles of correspondence I have in the office, I have to clean the play room it is a mighty mess and it is Thursday so I have to pick Sean up from school by 1:30 pm to much to do and not enough time!!!

I don't know how you guys that live in the cold areas survive! to all of you!

mo- but we like your freakie self LOL. I hope no one took you wrong. Cuz we wouldn't want ya any other way...you crazy bannan cream pic covered exotic porn star...hmmm i think that is a bad name for a porn movie LOL

Well today, i haven't had my walk yet...however, I JOINED A GYM. I went to the bally's 5 min from my house. I have been meaning to do this, esp since i get a 15% discount through banfield. However when i got there, they had an even better deal going on. And the gym is SWEETTTTTTT. they even have an indoor lap pool, whirlpool, and many late aerobics classes. So i figured 38$ a month is worth my health. It may mean i have to stop buying less clothes...but my health is worth it. When i signed up today, i got 4 free sessions with a personal traininer. So i'm going back tonight at 715 for my first session. I'm stoked. I was hoping they had all i was looking for..and they do. The pool exictes me...i think it would be great to start swimming a few times a week.
Alright all..got to run to work for a few...will check back later.
hannha, laurie - where are you guys?????
Bye all.

lol at hannah - we were posting at the same time. as for the yorkie..how long has not eating been???? is he vomiting or acting sick. If he's not eating, give him some time...dogs can go 2-3 days until they eat. He may be a little bummed he's not with his normal family. I like the royal canine. If he's getting any table scraps he may be trying to convince you he wants the people food. don't fall for it. If he has no health problems and is currently acting fine. Give it time. if you switch food too much, it may cause a picky eater. Most dogs will do fine for 48-72 hrs without food. He'll eat when he's hungry. However, if he's also acting funny (ie laying around, vomiting)...get him to the vet..

gg no he is not missing his "other" family, we are kind of his family and he goes to HIS OTHER HOUSE to visit, he is always very lumpy, he is not the active one, we have stopped giving either one of them people food, after doing Zurg't tooth cleaning along w/everything else he got done and knowing he has really good teeth we don't want to ruin that for him. So no! no more people food!

Good for you on joining the gym, you are going to love it! I miss going to the gym myself, I am starting again next week!!!! can't wait!

GG: Thanks kitten! Hugs & Shuga Smacks to you for that! I do try to behave...but sometimes I'm just too much of a nut for my own good! You joined a GYM? Friggin' awesome babycakes! I always see commercials for Bally's and have always wanted to go to one...but Kazoo doesn't have one nor is there one nearby! As it is, I barely make it in to the one I have joined. BUT, I KNOW you will be more successful and make it worth your money unlike your buddie Mo here! LOVE all the stuff they offer-we have that too and the funny thing is our membership is $39 per month so it's almost exactly the same. Saunas too? THAT I do love!

Hanner Nanner: Yup, got it gumdrop and I pmd ya back! It's so funny...just like 8 months ago I still didn't know what a pm was!!! WHOA! What a shock about Thanksgiving and all the guests coming!!! Whoa!!! One of these days I'll be a responsible adult with a family too (maybe) and have a bunch of people over...but until then it's off to join my Aunt & Uncle and their kids and grandkids...my Uncle emailed me today saying "the bar opens @ 1:00pm."

Lauren: Dahling...you know it will only be up for a day or two and then it will go back down to slightly below the lower point you just hit! Promise!

Lobacal: Well welcome back and I think your goals definitely sound manageable sweetie pie!

Pam: ROCK ON with the pound down you hot tamale you! Yup, had to break out the hoppin' monkey and jiggy banana for that one (and that's a big deal since I'm a dancing carrot fiend)!

Ok all...time to actually do some work I guess since I think that IS what they pay me for here!

OH....ok...time to spill. I kissed a guy last night! Woo Hoo! Yup...I've known him for like 10 years and we've "spent time together" before...but years ago. We've been playing phone tag and rescheduling an evening for the past 2 months. Last night he finally came over to see the new house and I got a GREAT KISS goodbye! No, doubt it will amount to anything...he is one that always goes for the "trophy" types and I am certainly not one of those. Who knows...

(in a sing song voice) Mo kissed a boy, Mo kissed a boy! Good for you!

Hanna, your husband surpised you with how many people? OMG I would have killed him. Does he not know what that does to women? Well I guess if you are a-okay with it, who am I to complain?
