Default new to fatchicks also

Hey all you 30somethings I'm Jenn and I just joined 3fatchicks today. I've been on other weight loss forums before but they just weren't for me (or my wallet if you know what I mean). In 10 years I've grown from 132 lbs (too skinny at 5'9") to 203lbs ("weigh" tooooooo big) the most substantial gain was over the last 3 years during which I lived in a house that I hated and was a source of continuous stress, I had a baby (in Jan. '07) and decided I really am tooo stressed out by my current job (so I'm looking for a new one). All of these things definately contributed to more weight gain. I remember going from 132lbs to 155lbs and thinking 155lbs isn't that bad after all I'm tall. Years and a new baby later I'm staring at the biggest numbers on the scale I've ever seen. Its frightening and sad. I think so far that I like the info on this site. It seems useful and real not pushy and scripted. So here I am on my journey to lose 65 lbs (even as I type it I can't believe its so much) I'll be here off and on to report any progress to rant and to praise each of you for your own successes.

Girls.... I am so happy that body is sometimes stronger than the soul..
Thanks to your supportive words, I have been able to hold on this time for THREE WHOLW WEEKS (lol) and go to the gym three to four times a week. And I feel better already, no matter what the situation at home is! I am so happy. Not much weight loss though, but the good feeling is worth it.
Keep your fingers crossed so that three weeks of excercise and no vending machine candy turns into three months...
I will keep you posted.

Hi Ladies,

I am new here too. I have been hanging around with the Aussie girls but thought I would branch out and you all sound like very supportive ladies that are going through very similar things to me. Hubby loves me regardless but knows I need to do this for health and confidence.

I made a decision on the 1st of October and have since lost 6.5 kgs (about 13 pounds) and am just starting to lose some of that initial motivation so if you have any suggestions about pushing through that please let me know.

I have adopted two advertising slogans when it comes to my weight loss "Just do it" and "Because I'm worth it".

Good luck everyone!!!!

Hi ladies! I am new to 3FC and love that we are all in this together. Been on WW since August last year and need to get to 170 which is the weight I was when graduated HS. currently at 268. (Started at 289) My hubby loves "big" women and married me that way. But since I have PCOS and want kids very badly, we needed to do something that wouldn't stress out the wallet! LOL Hubby joined WW with me last Xmas and has lost 25 lbs and looks great and gives me some support, not as much verbal support as I would like though. So here I am! I bought a treadmill last month and have been on and off of it since. Starting to slack and getting tired of sticking to WW and not seeing the results as fast as others. I know with PCOS it's 2x as hard to lose it. Just need a little encouragement.

I am so sorry that you are feeling that way and can relate. I finally just got so sick of myself and don't get me started on shopping for clothes. Luckily, my husband is very supportive and he makes sure to tell me how proud he is of me for the effort I'm making when I work out. All I can say is that we should all be proud that we've recognized something in ourselves that we want to change and are making efforts to be healthier. I think that in and of itself is a great accomplishment. It's the keeping with that mindset that's the tricky part. We can all help each other in that department.

To all of the ladies with unsupportive husbands, I am so sorry. They may just not know how to help you, but if they are just being jerks, kick them in the jimmies for me.

Wow...lots of new comers. I am new here too. I have a lot of support from my family. My daughter who is 16 hops on my treadmill every night encouraging me to go on. I have 4 children and we are really trying to turn our eating habits into healthier ones. I hope that with the help of this site I will lose my first goal of 50 pounds!
I am glad to be here and hope to make lots of new friends!

P.S. How to do I get one of those tracking scale things on my screen? Not too good with computers...lol
