Default Acid/Alkaline Foods

Lately i've been reading about how your body can be in either an alkaline or acid state, ive read that when your body is mostly acidic there are many symptoms including- sore joints, excess mucus, feeling lethargic, mouth ulcers, nausea and just genereal unhealthy being. By eating unhealthy foods (cake chocolate pies white bread sugar soft drink ect) your body is constantly in an acid state and can result in serious disease and studies have shown that some disease like cancer can not survive in an alkaline state.

I was just wondering if anyone here bases what they eat on this theory and the effects it has had?

(I thought id post this thread in the vegetarian section because to make your body become more alkaline you must not eat meat (as it is highly acidic)

any more information on this that anyone has would be helpful, after reading this i think i have finally discovered that i need to make this lifestyle change forever- and not jsut to lose weight. I just cant believe i have been putting all these poisons in my body for so long, an it sucks that its taken so long for me to realise what harm bad foods can cause on your body.

Did you happen to read that from the book Thrive? It discusses that theory.
