Default goals

I am going to be starting a diet (again) and I was thinking if I set goals for myself and give myself something when I reach the goal, it might motivate me more.
This is what I have written down.

*First 10% of weight lost, a manicure and pedicure
*Halfway to my goal weight, a haircut and color
*Make goal weight, purse or wallet from Coach store in Las Vegas.

I want to be at my goal weight by March 2007.

Does all this sound reasonable?

Your goal of 70 pounds by March is fairly realistic (you'll need to lose 2 pounds per week). Your rewards are perfect!!!! You might want to do one tweak to your goal--give yourself 1 year to complete this journey. Set your March date as perhaps a 50 pound mark and then the rest of the year to do the final 20. I find that the first pounds are the easiest to lose, but the last seem to take forever. That way, if you do experience problems getting the final few pounds off, you won't feel like a failure if you don't complete it by March.
Best of luck!

Personally I don't set target dates as I like to have goals it is up to ME as to whether or not I accomplish them. BUT I know they work for a lot of people and I DO think it is fantastic to set rewards when you reach specific targets. LOL I usually do that but here I am at almost my halfway point and don't have a reward set up for that. But I DO have in mind a HUGE reward... another cruise!! -- when I reach my goal weight!

Go for it!!!!! I wish you the best of success.
