Default questions for the adventurous

ok - maybe the next one will be a game of I never

What is the most adventurous thing you have done or said? It doesn't have to be more than a one-liner that popped out of your mouth when you least expected it - but make it juicy!

ok I guess I have to answer this - lets see....

well - last week we filmed on a wild life preserve with no permits - and almost got caught - which could have been really bad - the cops came after we were wrapped and just heading back to the cars for our final wrap. I was scared! We got away - but I shant do that again any time soon!

Ask me in 4 weeks time, I'll have lots to tell.

For now, one adventure would be a white water rafting trip - I went even though I was terribly afraid of falling into the water. I did fall into the water... It was fun, but I'd have enjoyed myself a lot more had I not conditioned myself into a state of fear...

When I was 9 years old, my older cousins were going to visit a friend of theirs in a different part of the country and I went with them on the spur of the moment. After about 2 weeks I had had enough of them, the place we were in and the people we were staying with, so I said I was going home. Not believing I really meant it, they told me what time the bus was departing and went for a walk - as in, "sure, go ahead, but we know you'll be too chicken to do it." Well, I did it, and made it home safely. I wish I could have seen their faces when they came back from the walk and discovered that I was gone!

A couple years ago my roommates and I decided to go streaking, and ended up playing naked frisbee and running through the sprinklers in a park, until someone called the cops on us and they escorted us home, after we tried to run away... still naked.

That was fun, but I think going to Southeast Asia on my own for 2 months was more adventurous - I got lost in Cambodia, ate lots of unknown meats, got off buses in the middle of nowhere just to check it out, and had a complete blast - and realized I'm far more adventurous than I though I was!

Doesn't sound nearly as exciting as these other stories, but the most adventerous things I've done have to do with the so-called "extreme sports." Dirbikes, jetskis, quads. Doesn't sound like much but it's pretty scary dropping into a 100 foot dune at a 90 degree angle. Or riding the "razorback" where the dune comes to a point so your tires are riding alongside the point with a huge dropoff on either side. Gives you a major adrenaline rush. And I've never broken a single bone or gotten a single stitch!

nice - I wanna know what is happening in 4 weeks sushi penguin

also stacy, I agree with you - exteme sports are pretty exciting - mountain biking down a mountain - (which you downhill ski on) VERY SCARY - I was more scared though and didn't get so much adrenaline rush - esp when I kept falling over the handlebars top heavy they say

Mountain biking IS scary. The only place mine gets ridden is along the sidewalk at the beach.

I guess, in 2004 when I was 18 I flew from London to Texas on my own to meet someone I met online and stay with him and his family for 10days.

Hmmmm...having sex in the middle of a park at night or going on an unmarked trail down a river (having to go waist deep in my clothes for the most part) to a secluded lagoon in Big Sur. I think that's one of the most adventorous things I've done.

The most adventurous thing I've done is streaking. We didn't go very far, and there was a pack of us (safety in numbers!). I'd never do it again, but it's nice to have that one checked off my list of 'to do before i die!'

Probably the scariest thing I've ever done was on a hike I took in Shennandoah natl park. My friend and I went up there one day and decided to take a path which was marked moderate with some rock scrambles. Now, I love clambering over rock scrambles... But nothing could have prepared me for what we got. I think maybe we took a wrong turn, but man... We were at one of the highest points on our section of Skyline Drive, on the side of a mountain, and there was a rock about 5" high to get over, nothing but air and treetops to the right, nothing but another giant rock to the left, and about a foot and a half of ledge for us to crawl on to. It seriously scared the crap out of me. I'm SO afriad of heights. But I did it, I don't know how..... I still look back on that vista and get goosebumps!! It felt like the end of the earth!

I was graduating from college and I had 2 job offers: the first was 3 hours from home, a place I had interned the summer before, a lot of sitting in front of the computer, better pay and benefits. The second was 1000 miles away in Florida, where I had never been and didn't know anybody, much less chance to see my family who I'm very close to, less pay, no benefits, but the job sounded more fun, a lot more field work and time on the water (which I love). So in a month I graduated, bought my first car, and headed south.

I don't know about the extreme sports - I just started scuba diving, but that doesn't seem nearly as scary as some of those already mentioned!
