Hello all! I am one of the lucky ones with the day off, so I have just been hanging out all day.

Last week I had my monthly measure and weigh-in, and although I lost no weight, I lost almost 5 inches! That sounds like a lot, but I measure so many places that it equalled small losses all over my body, or staying even in some places. I was ecstatic because I have not seen loss like that since I started keeping track in June -- and I actually went to the gym in the summer. (Granted, only for one month -- still.) So I was motivated to start my yoga tapes this weekend, which I have done.

However, yoga is HARD. I know I am not the most flexible person, but I only lasted through twenty minutes of yoga with weights, and 35 with yoga without weights. Whew! And a friend of mine has seen huge gains just by eating better, so I (finally) taking a stab at that.

All in all, I am hoping this week will be as good as last week!

it is 41 degrees celcius today and the air conditioner at work has died about 3 times today!

I can't help thinking of my little puppies at home in this heat - although apparently it has just started raining there. i guess it will just make it humid and hot, instead of dry and hot.

i am so blah guys feeling overwhelmed again. i constantly do this and sabotage myself. just do it daisy

on the plus side, we have been eating well at home this week. been very good in that sense.

think of me this afternoon -

I had a pretty crappy day. I ended up eating 4 pieces of that strawberry cream cheese dessert I made! 4!!! I made up for it at dinner and by skipping my snack so my calories weren't tooo bad considering. I also threw the rest out. Well I let my dog eat the cream cheese/cool whip part then threw the jell-o away. My hamstrings are also very sore so I didn't do my leg workout. *sigh* It seems like I can never get through a whole week without any problems.
Geez, it seems like a lot of us are having problems this week!
Just gotta keep and and staying away from and . A little can't hurt either.

hehe.

Howdy all! Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Mine was pretty touch-and- go. Foodwise, it was atrocious. I watched my cousins from Saturday into Sunday, and I just gave up food-wise. Had candy and soda at the movies, and donuts for breakfast! And yesterday one of my other cousins and her 2 kids came up from Florida, so of course there was cake and icecream and more soda... I need to kick the habit and get back on track, girls!

Here's something that happened over the weekend that really made me cringe:

So I took my cousins to the movies on Saturday (Pink Panther-- pretty good), and before the movie we stopped at the drugstore and I let them get a drink and one candy each. Well, halfway through the movie, cousin #1 had finished all her candy, so she started bugging cousin #2 for his. It turned into a huge fight, so when we got home I took the leftover candy and threw it away. Then we went to bed. So, next morning I wake up, make my way to the living room where the kids are sleeping, and guess what I see? Both kids, fishing through my garbage, looking for the candy I threw away!!

This kind of sums up one of my biggest fears about beng overweight-- that I'll get so bad that I'll lose all self-control and start resorting to disgusting and degrading measures to get some sweet treat. So here I am, resolutions pieced back together and intact once more, hoping to finally get over my fatty-food-fetish.

Man, I've been SO off the wagon the past week or so.... Haven't even been working out to compensate! Bad! Maybe seeing the scale on Thursday will scare me back into working at it....

Hi all,

Another busy week for me at work. Exercise is good but food continues to be a struggle. It's not out-of-control bingeing, but I continue to snack and the calories add up and up to enough that I won't be losing weight. I have plenty of healthy foods, pack healthy lunches and snacks etc., I just don't have willpower to say no when the sweet treats show up. I also need to have a little chat w/ BF about when we eat w/ friends. If he knows what we're eating I need to have him tell me so I can eat a salad or vegetables ahead of time if necessary. It's won't solve my problems by far, but it will help a little bit. Mainly it just comes down to willpower though. Where is that dust when I need it?

ncola, I recall conversations on the maintainers' forum about the very act of fishing in the garbage for foods. Many members there 'fessed up to doing it, and I'll admit, I've done it for a doughnut (think George on Seinfeld - 'cept my doughnuts were still in the box on top of the trash). I'm not proud of it, but there it is. One of the maintainers actually talked about how she had to "ruin" peanut butter when throwing it away by squirting it w/ dish detergent so she wouldn't go after it later. You are not alone in your fears/feeling of shame at even the possibility of that kind of act.

Daisy Boo, were the dogs ok?

ladyjames63, that is great! Congratulations on your accomplishment.

It sounds like many of us are struggling right now. Is this the winter doldrums? Think of the beautiful sun *laaaaa clouds parting*!

Megan,

I really think it is the winter doldrums. There are just too many of us having food struggles. I think part of my problem is that I've been eating like crazy and not exercising at all which is weird for me. I usually at least exercise. My big problem is that I've lost some weight! I haven't exercised in a week almost and I'm losing a bit! That's not good for me...I should have gained to keep my will power up. I'm going to start exercising again today but not work so hard. I think an hour and half is too much for my body to take and it's holding on to all my calories. I'm going to shoot for 30-45 minutes and see what happens.

We can all do better this week! It's half way over all ready! Let's finish strong! I'm applying to grad school so the stress isnt' helping me too much right now!

I have to make a chocolate sheet cake tomorrow (with chocolate frosting, of course) for a co-worker's bday--it was her request. My goal is not to sneak any nibbles from the batter. I'm not a huge chocolate fan so I think I'll be ok at the party resisting but while I'm cooking/baking the temptation to snack always hits me.

Guys, it should be official tomorrow morning but I've hit ONDERLAND!

I have one of those old dial scales so no tenths of a pound for me, but this morning it was right under 200. Even at my highest after dinner it was right at 200. I should be squarely at 199 tomorrow!

Not only that but to celebrate I went shopping today. I had some large tops and size 14 dresses fitting! Jeans are still a 16 but another 5-10 pounds or so and I'll be into those 14's!
I'm on such a high right now!
