Hi ladies! Well chaos is the word to describe my world lately! lol A new job (working my behind off by the way) 10 hour days to get the store set up. Now we are back to 8 hrs. And we got a 3 day weekend for Christmas Woo Hoo more time for chaos!
I went to the doctor and he put me on metformin for my insulin resistance. Seem that my insulin levels were normal while fasting but 2 hours after eating they were through the roof. He also told me if I DON'T take care of this and get it under control I will more than likely be diabetic in 5 years. My hubby is diabetic and I don't want to go down that road!
I hadn't weighed myself in awhile because by the time I get home from work I eat dinner, get off of my feet after standing on concrete all day, visit with my kids and go to bed. Just to get up and do it again the next day! So I decided to weigh myself this morning since I started the metformin on Wednesday. It should help shed a bit of the weight, and I wanted to make sure I kept good track! so when I got on the scale, much to my suprise I had lost about 9 pounds over the last 2 weeks. I knew my new job had me running but I guess I never realized how much! I was thrilled! What a present to myself you know.
Now to resist the holiday food! I made candy as I do every year for gifts to my closest friends. I didn't sample even a bite. I made my sisters in law my taste testers and I feel so accomplished that I never tried any! I have more will power than I though I guess!
