I hope no one minds if I post the QOTD? I've been dying for some new song ideas for workouts.

I think Disco music is great to workout too. But anything that has a really great beat would work. Jennifer Lopez, Paula Abdul, Brittany Spears, any of their CD's would get me moving. I would choose something that you can sing along too.

I like r&b/rap songs like ludacris, jayz...things from dance clubs- they motivate me because it makes me want to drop a few so i have more energy to dance more when I go out!

These are mine:
1. Gold Digger - Kanye West
2. Shake It Off (Remix) - Mariah Carey
3. My Humps & Don't Lie - Black Eye Peas
4. Fighter - Christina Aguilera
5. Megalomaniac - Incubus

I tried to name new songs, but these are the ones that when they pop up on my ipod I totally work harder!

My picks here are my faves for running, very motivational! I'd pick slower-paced stuff for lifting.

1. Gwen Stefani - What You Waiting For?
2. Yellowcard - Ocean Avenue
3. Bon Jovi - Runaway
4. A*Teens - Mama Mia (they're an ABBA cover group, more modern sounding)
5. Blumchen - Ich Bin Wieder Hier (German techno/dance, a friend introduced me to it)

My faves for non-running activities:
1. Happatai - YATTA! (this one floated around the internet with a video of Japanese comedians dancing around wearing only leaves, but it's great!)
2. O-Zone - Dragostea din tei (another internet song, it's from Romania, primarily known from the video where a guy taped himself singing along to it, AKA the "numa numa" song)
3. The Killers - Somebody Told Me
4. NSync - It's Gonna Be Me
5. La Bouche - Wanna Be My Lover (a blast from the past!)

I'm Too Sexy by Right Said Fred is another fave, I love old 90's hits for working out!

Hmmm...it's hard for me to nail down a top 5. For working out, the main requirements for me are loud, upbeat, energetic, and fast :. If I were working out right now, I'd probably be in the mood for these five songs in my mp3 collection...

1 - Switchfoot - Meant to Live
2 - Weezer - The World Has Turned
3 - Tonic - Future Says Run
4 - Jars of Clay - Flood
5 - Big Daddy Weave - Fields of Grace

I'll also confess that I have been known to break out the NSync, Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, and (heavens above) NKOTB from time to time
