Default Frustration is...

...when you try on every skirt in your closet and you can't squeeze into ANY of them! I have a work dinner tonight at a VERY fancy restaurant and I'm stuck going in my good old black pants and a pinstripe blouse (at least it's slimming...). On top of that, I binged this afternoon and now I have to go and eat tons of calories for dinner (it's a set dinner). Sigh. Wish me luck, ladies.

Well I'm back from the dinner and I actually decided to make a few good choices. I'm going to write down what I ate yesterday just to see for myself how bad it was.

Cereal- 200 cal
Apple- 50 cal
Pudding Cup- 100 cal
Veggie Chilli- 200 cal
Roll with butter- 150 cal
2 chocolate egg things- 100 cal
2 peanut butter sandwiches (my nemesis...peanut butter!!!) 500 cal
1 fried egg on toast- 200 cal

Then Dinner:
Just drank water and diet pepsi- 0 cal
1 small smoked salmon thing- 75 cal
Salad (citrus vinagrette)- 100 cal
Chicken and veggies (main course)- hard to estimate, but I'd say maybe 600 cal
Lemon mousse in a phyllo cup- again hard to estimate, maybe 300 cal? definetely a calorie defecit over the cheesecake option

Total: 2575
uh....tomorrow is another day!

Isn't it amazing how much a "little snack" will hurt you?? And frustrating! I was in the habit of getting at least 2-3 fun size candy bars at work everyday. I calculated that if I just cut out those everyday and kept everything else the same, I'd loose about 12 in a year, just from that! Thankfully, I've been doing better and really eating when I'm hungry, but there's still the days where I crave the evil snickers. Hang in there!

Default Dinner: Part 2

So tonight I have another dinner at the same place as before. However, I have been doing really well today (sensible breakfast and lunch, fruit for snacks) and have washed my car (which must count as exercise!) and will be going for a bike ride before supper. Gotta get in all the outdoor exercise while I can because it'll snow again within 2 weeks!

I have a plan for tonight as well: I honestly think I can stay on target for my calories today if I follow a few rules:
1. drink only diet drinks and water (easy, did it last time)
2. eat the salad (will probably have a vinagrette, which is fine)
3. order fruit for dessert (my friend who is hypoglycemic did this last time...i didn't realize you could! she got a HUGE plate filled with tropical fruit and it looked way better than my rich dessert) It really helps to have friends like that!

If that all goes as planned, the majority of my calories will come from the main dish which will probably be a chicken breast or something.

Well I feel better now that I've typed that all out!
