  • Can I join the Challenge?
    Hi everyone!
Can I join in this Easter Challenge? I need some motivation to get my act together and lose this weight finally. I'm 5'4 and 145lbs and my goal is to be 125lbs by the summer. I think that in 5 weeks I would like to be 139lbs? How are you guys going about losing weight? Any special diets and stuff, or just counting calories? I tried Atkins and South Beach, which I didn't like, I think I'm going to try to aim for 1400 calories a day, and try to get to my butt to the gym at least 3 days a week (which would be an improvement on what I am doing now). I'm at college now so it's hard to seriously lose weight, there are some serious temptations that amount to lots of calories. Anyone else in school and have any tips? I look forward to talking to everyone and hopefully losing some poundage! ~C
  • I know I am a little late on the challenge but I would love to join you guys! My weight loss has been stalling and this could be a really good motivator for me. I am 5'8'' and currently 158lbs so I think my Easter goal will be 6lbs (1 per week) down to 152. And Jenicra, I wanted to say "way to go!" on your weight loss, that is so great! And good luck on the 5K. I want to run my first as well and I think there's one in Austin in March I was looking at. Anyway enough babbling I've got to get to the gym!!
  • hi hi, girls!

I'm joining as well! 6lbs by Easter? I think I can do it!

Today, I've done my 2 mile walk with Leslie Sansone, and I'm deciding if I should leave the house to study so I don't binge.

Remember, support is the KEY to weight loss!

Oh, and we should all treat ourselves to ONE thing when we reach our Easter Goal. Not necessarily a chocolate bunny, but...maybe a new piece of Spring Clothing?

    Good luck, everyone!
  • Welcome Chubella, lizzbabe and MissyK! Chubella - I'm a student too, but I don't live on campus, so I'm sure that that presents different problems...

So, I'm back from my race. It was awesome! I wanted to finish in under 35 minutes, and I ended up finishing under 30, 29:00 even! I was so stoked. Plus, I had a cheering section that saw me off, met me at the beginning, and cheered me on at the end! (My mom, husband, and two little cousins were all there.) I placed 174th out of 280, which, heck, isn't too shabby for my first run! (Not to mention that the run was in Track Town, USA: Eugene, OR - a HUGE running town and area - the top speed was 14:54!!! I can't imagine! So yeah, it was awesome. Anyone who wants to run or is running should definately do one of these! Plus, I got my little tag # and a shirt!
  • Wow Jenrica!! You're awesome!

I ran a 5K last September. It was the run for the cure for breast cancer so it wasn't a competition at all. I ran the 5K in 35 minutes and I was pretty excited. The problem is that I didn't really train for it before hand....I mean, I was going to the gym everyday but didn't practice running outside if you know what I mean...

I WAS SORE FOR ONE ENTIRE WEEK!!!!!!!!!! Couldn't move............Man, now I know why people train for this! Hehe...

    Good job again Jenrica!!

    Sore Sacha
  • Hi All,

Can I join the challenge too? I did the valentine's challenge on another thread but did not meet my goal. This time I have real motivation. I am going to NYC for easter!! My goal is to lose at least 10 pounds by then.

Quick intro about me: recent college graduate looking to lose the weight I gained in college (freshman 15 ha more like 50!), I am on WW and I am working on being more physically active!

    best,
    Jen
  • gosh...i hope i learn all your names by the Easter lol...

BLAST the Freshman 15! Before I went into University, I was 103lbs >_<
Of course, after lots of hard work, I lost what I gained, only to gain it back and lose it again, and guess what? GAIN IT BACK!!! I'm in second year, so the cycle went around twice! This'll be the LAST time.

I did my 2 mile walk today, got a haircut, and walked around downtown for about 1 hour. THen, I had cheese and oatmeal for lunch.

    how's everybody else doing?
  • Way to go on the 5-k! I just talked to my boyfriend about the race I want to do in April and he's all for running it with him so I said it's time to start training haha. Right now I'm only running twice a week but I've been working my mileage up so I run 4 miles on the treadmill between 6-7mph. Finishing in under 30 minutes is awesome! I went a little bit overboard on drinks Friday night but other than that I had a good weekend. Went to a soup and salad bar for dinner on Saturday and made good choices so I was proud of that. And now I am on my way to the gym for an upper body weights session and some quality stairmaster time. Hope you all are doing well and we will all meet our goals by Easter!
  • Great job on the race, Jenicra!

This weekend was pretty good. I indulged a little at the state fair, but I had planned on that. And, for a fair, I didn't really do that bad... To counteract it, I got in lots of exercise, and plan to be right back on track this week.

Hope you all have a great, OP week!
  • -1 for me!!

    So I'm 174...Not a big loss but it's a loss!! 5 pounds to go!!!!!!
  • congrats sacha!!!
  • this is my first time posting! I'm in for 4 lbs. I made my goal (FINALLY) of 130 last week but after a weekend of bad eating and drinking I"m up to 133.5 again. Sad, it only took me two days to gain three pounds.
  • Can I join the challenge? I would really like to be accountable and this website is really helping me get to my goal. I am in for 6 lbs as well. I am in school as well and I am trying to not eat when I get stressed. We can do it girls!
  • Well I'm back from AL no worse for the wear, but I forgot to weigh in this morning, so I guess I don't really know for sure that I'm no worse off But I want to say Way to go on the great time Jenrica!

I'll be sure to weigh in tomorrow
