Hello. I'm new here, but would like to join in with the Labor Day challenge. I'm British and have to admit that I don't actually know what Labor Day is (sorry ) but I'm off on my hols on the 6th Sept so this challenge is great timing for me!
I've been trying to lose weight for a few months now. I started off at 155 and managed to get to 136 but then slipped a bit and have gone back up to 142 - v. annoying when I was only 3lbs away from my goal of 133! Still, only myself to blame. I'd really, really like to reach my goal before I go on holiday but am really struggling on my own - am hoping that this will spur me on to make it this time!
This sounds like a great way to get motivated. I haven't participated in a challenge yet, so this is a good time to start. My goals for the Labor Day Challenge are:
*Lose 19 lbs.
*Lose 10% body fat
*Cardio and strength training at least 3x a week
SW: 202 CW: 190 GW: 148 +/-
Goal for Labor Day: 171 lbs., 29% body fat
Thanks everyone for your support and inspiration. Good luck to all!!
Don't worry Strawberry, I'm American and I don' know what Labor day is XD silly holiday anyway. I think it's meant to honor the 'worker' who doesn't actually get the day off, but at least it's a paid holiday!
I've been doing okay diet-wise and exercize-wise, except for a few tiny slip ups, but I'm plateauing =*( so I'm holding steady, not losing. How about everyone else?!
Hi all!!!

I love these little challenges, they keep me on track!
My wonderful boyfriend, Tim, always says "Go big or go home!", so in honor of him I will aim for 175 for Labor Day which would be an additional 14# loss bringing me to a 45# total loss!
So I will do my goals out like everyone else:
1. 175# on or by Labor Day
2. Curves at least 4x a week
3. Water aerobics 1x-2x a week
4. Pilates tape at least 1x a week
5. At least 90 oz of water a day
6. Keep my calories at or around 1200 calories per day
Jenn i love your signature how you have your personal goal rewards i think i might have to work on some rewards for myself i think its a great idea! And congrats on such great success so far keep up the good work!!!
Thanks Brittnye! I hadn't really thought about the personal goals much until someone in another challenge asked what everyone's rewards were going to be.... So Tim and I discussed some possibilities and I came up with these... I posted them down there to remind me of what I'm going to give myself for all this effort.
So ladies, how are you all doing at completing your goals? I'm slightly behind. It's been tough coming out of be-a-lazy-pig mode after my vacations. Thankfully life is back to normal for the next 5 weeks =) I think I'm back on track. I haven't been keeping track of my exercise minutes, but I have exercised every day this week except Tuesday. Next week I'll start up the Exercise Log again. I hope those of you who are fairly new are still arround!
Well Dee, I justed started so won't be able to post any official results until after my monthly weigh-in/measure on Saturday, but I can tell you that I have exercised everyday this week, got all my water in, and stayed within my calories each day... I'm hoping to see some results on Saturday morning
I weighed myself this morning and have lost 5lbs in the last 2 weeks so only 4 to go! I'm pretty confident that I can reach my goal, but not so confident I'll manage to stay there! As soon as I get somewhere vaguely near my goal I seem to give up and start eating whatever I want - BAD GIRL . I really must work on a more balanced attitude towards food and exercise rather than being all or nothing - I will not be a yo-yo any longer!
I am new to posting, but not new to the site...I love it but just never got active with it! But I am now. I gained some weight back during a layoff at my job, moving 3 times in 3 months, no money to go to the gym, and a fiancee who eats horribly (and so do the kids!) So I am starting anew as of yesterday, did ok 1700 calories and 20 mins on the bike (will be upping that to at least 60 mins a day plus weights and calisthenics (sp?) and whatever else I can think to add. So let's see, 11 weeks, I am 186 now...after what I gained back, so I am gonna shoot for 165 or 170 area...which might be a little high but hey I've done it before! Count me in!!!
