Default Getting weighed on the doctors' scale

What is everyone's take on this precarious topic? Especially being in the throes of weight loss....doesn't getting weighed on a different scale, at a different time of day, wearing clothes, kinda throw a wrench in things for ya?

I know for me it does. Today I had to get something checked out at the doctor, so I knew I'd be weighed. I made sure to use the restroom shortly beforehand, and I did take off my shoes (big heavy boots today)....the lady seemed to understand. To my happy surprise, it only showed 206.....3 pounds more than I am at home, naked, in the morning. I think that may even be all (or close to all) clothing weight.

Anyway....am I a complete spaz? Anyone else ever think about this crazy topic? I can't wait to go back for my annual exam in Feb. (not many women say that!!), to "show" how much more weight I've lost since now.

Just my thoughts on today. Better go get that brisk walk in, before I come up with an excuse!

Hmmmm... I do have an appointment coming up here in the next month or 2. I guess I still get a little flipped out when I hop onto the Dr. scale, but I try not to let it get to me too much. I think it might help that I quit weighing in naked at home. I still weigh myself first thing in the AM (after I pee about a pound, of course!), but now I keep my night clothes on. That helps out a little when I do weigh in the middle of the day with clothes on.

We women are such funny creatures, aren't we?!

I think when I go to the dr and hop on the scale, I just need to remind myself that at least it doesn't say 186 anymore!!!!!!!!!!

The last time I went to the doctors, which was about 2 months ago, I weighed exactly the same as my scale said at home. I am going to the doctors again this month so I can't wait to see if that was just a mishap or if my Tanita scale is really that accurate Hopefully it is and I didn't spend $40 bucks just for nothing

I actually have my annual physical this afternoon. The last time I went to the doctor I weighed 214 pounds. I'm excited to "show off" what I've done with myself for the last year but in the same respect I'm worried that the scale is going to differ from that of my home scale! If you guys are anything like me, I tend to get depressed when the scale goes up (even if consciously I know that it's just water weight). It definitely messes with my psyche.

It IS easy to let scales mess with our heads....it's a constant battle to not get all caught up in the emotional ups & downs....at least for me. Just found out I have to make ANOTHER doctor appointment for either tomorrow or Friday (for a minor problem), so here we go again....another questionable weigh-in! I'll let ya know how it goes.

Phew! Went to the Dr. and I was only one pound heavier on their scale (143). That was fully dressed and at 3:00 in the afternoon after I ate breakfast, snack and lunch!

I weigh myself once a week at the med center (my mom works there) so I can be sure to get an accurate reading. Although I must confess, I can't resist stepping on the scale every time I go to her house, and that scale is a pound heavy. Even knowing that, it still depresses me to see a higher number. Why do I do it????

I think I'm getting a little more immune to the emotional effect of the scale....
Today I had that 2nd dr. appointment, and I was weighed at *5* pounds over what I am on my scale--and it didn't freak me out! I'm learning to let that stuff slide off my back (though I did take my big boots off again!).
Tomorrow morning I weigh in, for real! Hoping for a good result.....
