Question Poll: What body part....

....do you appreciate more than you used to, now that you've lost some weight???

For me, I'd have to say my arms. They are getting better! I still don't like the underneath flabby part, but I'm working on it and it IS improving slowly. As I lose more & more fat, and continue to do tricep exercises, I'll get there!
I'm actually starting to see a little definition in my arms, and it's exciting to me!

Now you ladies tell....which body part of yours are you liking better these days????

My legs! I've always had nice legs but now they look even better that I have lost weight.

Like Jess, I think I would have to say my legs. I am starting to get this subtle line down the side of my thighs where the muscle is starting to show!

Oh, wow...this is tough. There are so many body parts that I'm loving more and more now. Even though I've been skinnier than this in my life, I have never been this toned or fit. Thank you Leslie Sansone, lol!

I guess I'd have to say my arms too. I've always had these huge hams hanging from my shoulders and have been so embarrassed. Now I can actually see muscle definition...they are getting sculpted! I still have those bat wings hanging down, but they are shrinking! I actually wore a sleeveless shirt this weekend and didn't feel self conscious at all. Yippeee!

Jamie--

I just noticed we have about the same starting weight, as well as the same goal weight! (But granted, you ARE 3 inches taller than me). Ah, well. Just wondering how long you've been working at losing weight. I've been seriously working at it exactly 2 months now. You're doing great!!!

Well, not too be different but...I finally like my butt! Before the weight I actually bent over and caught a glimpse in the mirror and didn't even realize that was my behind! Nasty. But now with the workouts, my hips are much smaller and no sadlebags. I got me a booty now! I'm looking forward to bouncing quarters off of it soon.

I have to say I like my butt too! It's getting pretty firm.. which is a big accomplishment for me. I am very proud of my butt lol

The one thing that I can't seem to get rid of though is the fat on my hips. I can grab a whole handful and then some of fat on them. It's like, I got a firm butt but big hips and sometimes I feel it looks awkward!

My face. When I gain weight, I gain a lot in the face... to the point where people won't even recognize me. I have a chubby face even when I am thin, so I am most excited that my face is back to normal and my chins are gone!

Aside from that, my dainty fingers hehe and my feet.

I understand what you mean justlikeabirdie, I gain my weight in my face also.

I am happy to no longer have my double chin! I hate that I gain weight in my face, the first time I saw a picture of myself with the doulbe chin I almost died! I couldn't believe it. Now that I've lost 22lbs I can really tell it in my face and I'm happy to have a more slender face-i look so much older with all the fat in my face, but now I feel more confident, the face is the first thing people see.

Jen- Well, here's my story..... I went to school on a volleyball scholarship in 1997, and when I went into camp in August I weighed about 160 at 5'10. I was totally happy with that, I was strong and healthy. At the end of two weeks and 2-3 practices a day I was down to 143. It was the first time I was not able to cook for myself- all of our meals were to be eaten at the cafeteria not the healthest place in the world, so I ate a ton of salad. I had never been that thin and I was having some trouble, I was extremely tired and my trainers thought I was aniemic. But my coach couldn't of been happier- she was nuts to say the least and thought I was too heavy at 160. Shortly my boyfriend at the time and my parents came down as a suprise to watch me play as I was the only freshman starting and playing all of the time, needless to say they barely recognized me and got pretty weired out. So after the season with the coach from ****, I took some time off. Which ultimately made me decide not to play anymore. After two years of school, I was getting a lot of pressure from my boyfriend to come home, and I did- it was not a healthy relationship in any shape or form. Over the next 2 years I gained weight so rapidly it wasn't even funny. I had every blood test done known to man, to figure out what was happening. But ultimately it was the relationship I see now. I decided that I needed to go back to oregon and finish school and went back in 2001- best decision I've made in a long time. It was at that point I decided I needed to do something about my weight and I did. In six months I lost 25 lbs I was eating well, excercising, drinking tons of water and it came off. That was the easy part, my 4 year relationship was falling apart-not that it was awesome to begin with but it was still really hard. Ultimately 5 1/2 years later and 75lbs heavier we broke up which was pretty devistating, we were building a house in alaska together from scratch pretty much, we had 2 dogs, just bought new vehicles- it sucked to say the least. So, here I am now almost 2 years since we broke up and my goal is to be done with all of the weight I gained while I was with my ex it no longer has a purpose. I had a quote on my end line last week a couple of times which said "Let it go. Living well is the best revinge." And right now I believe that because I have nothing more to give, other than love, support, and compassion to myself and that is what is going to get me through this journey! And I will make it, I have added weights to my routine this time and uped my cardio to 45-60 minutes and its pretty awesome. So, probably more than you wanted to know but I haven't thought about this stuff in a while.

To Sunseeker_ak,

Wow, your story is soo similiar to mine, except it took me 6 years to figure it out. I agree, the best revenge is to get back to taking care of yourself, and yor health is a good way to start on your path. I wish you much luck in your journey!

I'm on my own little journey, and it's really exciting being on my own and looking better with every pound I lose!!!!

Jamie,
Thanks for the explanation! I love hearing more all about you, and all the ladies on this board. It's good that you've figured out what caused your gain, and now you know exactly what to do to rectify it. That's awesome!
My personal weight problem goes back to about the age of 8, and I don't have quite a great a grip on it, as you do on yours. I know a lot of it was learned, from watching my Mom's relationship with food. But, I don't blame her, because now I'm a grown-up and make my own choices. I am really learning to NOT eat emotionally any more! It's so freeing! At any rate, I'm doing something about it now, and just getting healthier all the time. (Of course, I don't exactly MIND the fact that I'm looking better & better, and all sorts of people are starting to notice!!!) Hee hee.
And tomorrow morning, I weigh in. I'm hoping for a 2-lb. loss, and I think I may just get it! We will see!
