Thank you Leah
I am not exercising so much at the moment. I only started kind of recently, like 1-2 months ago and am doing it moderately. Like 2 times a week Shred and 2-3 times a week 30-40mins on a stationary bike. I am so unfit that more is kind of impossible right now.
But I might start the blogilates calender today
I took measurements like a week ago and want to check on that in 1-2 months because I guess it won't make a lot of sense earlier. I am really hoping that my thighs/arms will decrease over time! The rest, of course, too

How are you all doing at the moment? Is it as hot where you live as it is here? Ugh, hate it right now

I'd need to reinstall kik and start a new profile but sure.

I'm also just starting out (as in less than a week ago) and it sounds like you're doing way more exercise than I am at the moment. I'm trying to ease myself back in this time instead of just jumping right into the deep end and then burning out before I made much progress. I have a fitbit that I've been using to track my steps and I'm hoping with my new job I'll be increasing my steps a lot since I will be on my feet all day.

Hello ladies!

I am 20 and just restarting on my weight loss journey (just starting the past few days). I currently weight about 182 pounds and am 5'2". I'm finished with college for the summer, so I'm looking forward to not eating cafeteria food for awhile, lol. I'm currently doing Weight Watchers to track my food intake...I just do it at home with tools I have found for free online as I don't currently have the finances to pay for it. I'm not doing much for exercise right now, just very light jogging a few days a week. I have done running in the past, and once I'm in better shape I actually really like the rush of it, it's just the getting in shape part right now that's not fun

LovelyLeah - you don't gain muscles so quickly, weight gain after exercise is usually water retention from sore muscles - check out some exercise myths on 3FC.

I just ran my first public 5k this weekend and I felt so proud, I gave myself 2 pause days. Today I'm back on track! How's everybody else doing?

Cool, let me know when you did, in case you do

I think it is a good idea to not start too extremely and then burn out. My main problem is that I really have to struggle to find time to do it regularly with university and a job. The other problem is that my muscles become sore very quickly and stay like that for 2-3 days. Doing Shred everyday for example would be absolutely impossible for me. I hope that it will get better over time and that I can work on a daily workout routine.

Hey and welcome
Sounds like you have a good plan for the summer ...
Since you already know how it feels to be in shape and run and stuff, maybe it is easier for you to work on your fitness because you know you are capable of being fit and in shape I was always bad at any sports, never fit and sometimes tend to doubt that my body is capable of being fit, which is bullshit of course

Woooow congrats

I still didn't start the blogilates thing but mainly due to stress in the past few days. Today I hope I will find time in the evening and give it a go! I also didn't do the Shred this week but I ate very well... so let's see what the scale will be saying.... by the way, how often do you guys weight yourselfs? I am doing it every 7 days at the moment but I'm trying not to let my mood be influenced too much by it. I just want to keep an eye on my progress or not-progress

Hey everyone I hope yall wouldn't mind one more person hoping into the thread. I'm 25 and I fell off the wagon earlier this year. So here I am 196lbs and starting slowly. I've got a history of an eating disorder and the really effects how I eat and deal with stresses in life (ironically I'm a psych major lol go figure!). I really enjoy being outside when I can be but getting to the gym just doesn't seem to happen as much as I like. I'm on MFP (peck0247) but don't use it to track as much as I use it to just socialize. And thus concludes a very brief history of me

fitcat being in shape is definitely possible! When I am "in shape" for me it's still a slow pace for a lot of people. I did sports in high school and I was always one of the slowest on my team. You can do it! Just don't compare yourself to other people. Something a friend told me last year helped me a lot for both fitness and weight loss: don't compare your chapter 1 to their chapter 20. Just because you may not be in the shape you are know doesn't mean you can't be.

Hi Everyone! I'd really like to join this thread as well! I had joined a different weight loss buddy thread, but it basically died! SO, I am 26, 142 pounds and looking to get anywhere between 110-120 pounds, depending on how I feel at the weights! I, too, have a history of eating disorders. I was anorexic for years when I was a competitive gymnast, and also over-exercised...sometimes up to 6 or 7 times a day. I've relapsed loads, and then gained quite a bunch of weight, and have been too scared until now to try and lose it. BUT, I am 15 pounds down from my starting 157 pounds and have had no relapses and exercise a normal amount now! 4-5 times a week! I got into a Star Wars musical tour, and got cast as Princess Leia, and would like to be more lean for the role...that is what has kickstarted this weight loss journey for me! It's so nice to meet everyone!

Kahaney If you don't mind me asking do you have a plan in place to prevent relapse? I was diagnosed with EDNOS when I was 16 and have struggled with dieting as a trigger. I think I'm doing fine until my inner drive leads to one small compromise after another. Before I even realize it I'm restricting my calories to unhealthy levels and exercising more than my body can handle. This generally leads to a major crash.

I'm still trying to workout what a healthy plan should be for me. I'm thinking something to do with keeping my calorie differential (calories in vs calories out) within a certain window. One where I'll still lose weight but venture into unhealthy territory.

Fitcat – if I go to a sauna after a workout or take a hot bath, my muscles don't hurt at all, no matter how intense the workout was. Stretching before and after also helps. My friend takes Magnesium pills for muscle pain, she says it helps. I try to weigh myself one time per week like you –because if I do it too often, I just end up expecting too much everyday.

LovelyLeah – If you don't go under 1200 calories after workout, you shoud do just fine. If you go under: not unly it's unhealthy, but it also doesn't pay off, because you don't lose much less weight eating less.

Honestly, the main thing I am doing is being quite open with my close friends/family about what I'm doing. Eating with other people, talking about when I go to the gym. For me, when I was at my worst, I did it all in secret...most people with eating disorders are good at hiding them...so this time to try and prevent relapsing, I am just trying to be as open about my process as I can with people around me that I trust! I know that's kind of vague for a "plan" but so far it's working with me. And not just being honest online...like, I am talking with my friends, family and boyfriend about it...when I go for days and days without talking about it, they are good about asking me!

Kahaney That's great! I totally understand the secrecy, it helps a lot being open.
