My name is Amy. I've been overweight most of my life as well. After my dad passed away I really ballooned up and got to 230, I lost 50 lbs and then gained it all back a few years ago. I was in a wedding in June of last year. When the pictures came back I really saw how much weight I had gained. (I was weighing in at around 260 then). In August I decided to get healthy and lose the weight. Since then I've lost 70 lbs. I still have 30 more to go to hit my goal weight.
As of right now I am currently trying to negotiate/sift through contracts to go teach English in South Korea starting in August. I am super excited but really want to hit my goal weight before I leave. I've been doing pretty well but I definitely have a soft spot for ice cream, cookies, and creamy bubble tea. And I know that the further I get down the harder the weight is going to be to lose. So I'd love to add my name to a support system to talk about the rough days and congratulate the achievements.
Hi all! I'm Sophia I was actually at a "normal" weight until I got to age 16, which is when I was put on some medication that I had a bit of bad luck with. One of the rarer side effects is extreme weight gain, and me being the lucky person that I am, I got that side effect. I weighed 154 pounds, and by the time I finished high school, I was around 220 pounds. Then I went off to college, and gained a bunch more weight due to food being everywhere, and it has only gone downhill from there. I am no longer on the medication that started it all, but my eating habits are TERRIBLE, and they have been keeping me heavy. My highest weight is 300 pounds, and luckily I have managed to drop a bit of it without really trying, but my weight loss journey starts now! I made an account on MyFitnessPal tonight, and I think it should be helpful. Can't wait to get to know all of you!
Nice to meet you!! I am fairly new to this site as well, and have found it to be very supportive and helps me keep accountable each week! I hope you enjoy it as well! Congrats on the beginning of your journey!
Update: Done with 21 day fix, 4 days into round two but from a few days really slacking on my diet and workout and eating crap!
I hope I will get back on clean eating bandwagon soon!
Update for me as well! I have joined a UFC kickboing/boxing gym and the weight is basically melting off of me. Add that to Zumba, jazz and tap dancing, and it's looking good! I am sticking to my healthy eating plan as well! I am feeling pretty optimistic about this whole process right now!
Hey yall! My name is Arianna. I've been on this website for a while and I actually had lost about 60 lbs last time I really got myself motivated to lose the weight. Maintaining accountability has been pretty hard for me and I've gained back half of the weight I lost, which has put me at 178 on the scale. I just recently had a miscarriage. Last Friday to be exact. I was 13 weeks pregnant. My partner is all Gung ho about trying again however I feel like maybe I should try and focus more about getting some of this weight off, getting myself in shape and kind of taking time to heal from the situation physically and emotionally. So I would really like to lose somewhere around 25 to 30 lbs and actually get into body building. I would love to get all swole! Maybe you ladies can help me stay on track. In even willing to give out my number to someone who could message me and kick my butt when I start falling off of my path. I'm unhappy and it's time to do something about it!
Kahaney - Kickboxing is the best isn't it??? It always kicks my butt and I feel like I get such a good workout whenever I do it.
Update for me- I have actually had the slightest stall. I was losing a good 2 lbs per week for awhile there but then last month I think I went a little too far. I gained 2 lbs of what I am pretty sure is muscle. I count calories and was eating 1200 and doing a little less than an hour of exercise a day. WELLLL I decided to up my exercise this last month and have been doing little things throughout the day.... but I didn't up my calories. I stalled a bit in my weight loss and was wondering why. I took a good look at my food and know it couldn't have come from there. So then I tallied up all the little things I've been adding for exercise. I've definitely been exercising 2 to 2 and a half hours a day and only eating 1200 calories. That is a big no no. So I am upping my calorie intake and will update as the month progresses.
Yes, kickboxing is SO awesome!! So is boxing! I feel like my body is getting so, SO much stronger already!
I gotta say, though...I haven't lost anything this week, and it's SO frustrating. I am eating fewer calories, and working out more, and drinking more water...and NOTHING. I know plateaus happen, but HOLY, I forgot how frustrating they are. Especially since last week I lost a little over 4 pounds...and then suddenly all progress stopped! I know I have to just keep at it, and eventually the scale will budge, but HOLY. I hate getting so frustrated, but there we have it. I do think that my body shape is changing...my muscles are more defined, I can see more of my collarbones...but still. The number not going down is daunting. Do you ladies struggle with that?
I am new in the forum and looking for weight loss friends. I actually opened a similar thread before I found this one. But I would like to be a part of this as well if it's okay.
I am 25 years old and have been struggling with my weight for quite a few years now.
Recently I restarted and want to really make progress this time.
I am currently 80kilos / 176 lbs... I count calories and try not to eat more than 1800 a day, as well as exercising a few times a week.
Oh and if anybody would like to also chat via kik sometimes, send me a pm I'd be glad to have a buddy in my pocket as well.
Hello everyone! Bluebell25, Ariannag and Fitcatwelcome!
Fitcat: I weight 84 kg and I want to lose at least 5 kg before July.
Update for me: i am trying to eat clean but not working out as much as I would like to do. It's freaking hot here and I feel kinda lazy all day
But soon, i am going to muster up some courage and start working out.
Good luck to all of you on your weight loss journey!
Hi Hi! findingmyway13: I feel you on the heat. I live in Texas and the summer heat is really starting to set in. I was walking for about 2 hours on Saturdays, but I may have to turn my active rest day into just a rest day.
Update for me: I upped my calories this last week and a half and lost 3 lbs. I went from 1200 to 1300-1500 a day. I was losing 2lbs a week consistently at 1300 before but dropped to 1200 to amp things up. Unfortunately I think my body didn't like that. So it was happy when I went back up. June starts a new 30 day challenge for me, so I'm super excited for all the new exercises. And on a more personal note it marks a little over 2 months until I move to Korea! I am hoping to lose another 10 lbs before I leave.
'ello!
Is it too late to join?
I'm Roxie, 33, and have had weight related issues for what seems like foreverrrrrrrrr related to PCOS and celiac disease. The weight has slowly been coming off since switching to a gluten free diet last year, but it can be frustrating and a community of others in the same weight loss boat sounds pretty awesome
ps...sorry if this posted in the wrong place, I just joined and this is my first post!
Hello everyone!
I'm Savannah, 20, and tired of being fat! I've been overweight since elementary school, and I'm ready to get rid of it. I've lost almost 25 pounds since late April, but then I lost motivation and gained about 5 of those back. I'm getting back into my weight loss regimen and this time I'm going to be taking pictures so I can compare them later. Currently at 259, and ready to get to work!
