Exclamation Measureing....Inches VS lbs

So this is only my first really dedcated week but I jhave only lost a little over a lbs so far...I feel like I've lost more! Im wondering if I am losing inches?? I weigh 249 now and I'm 5'7 so I expected it to just pour off. I am doing a combo of strength and cardio so I dunno if I am getting muscle

Maybe, though more likely your muscles are retaining water from all of the new stress you're putting them under with your work outs. The good news is that if you up your water intake, you should start seeing your real loses in a few days.

Even if that's not the case and you are just getting off to a slow start, you seem to FEEL good, and that's enough to keep you motivated to keep going! Good luck!

You may not have lost inches yet, like epicskyline said, you are probably still adapting to your new routine. However, it is extremely likely that over the next, well month, that you could lose inches as opposed to weight as your body puts on more muscle.

I took my measurements a month ago, and took them again today. I weigh almost the exact same except I have lost 4 inches!? Craziness.

Im still working on getting my mind excited about that. I'm too used to the scale being my only trigger for recognizing success.

I tell you what, I will definitely keep up the measurement from now on!
