Default WHY am I so hungry today???

I am ravenous today to the point I can't concentrate. I usually have a strong appetite but it's usually manageable. I am not hormonal, and I have not even worked out yet today. I DID start my day with a bowl of cereal, and I almost never eat a meal of only carbs. Could that be it? I ate a really large lunch like an hour ago and I STILL can't concentrate. What could be going on with me?

What kind of cereal was it? What do you normally have? if you normal have a high protein breakfast with some low GI/complex carbs and had a bowl of cornflakes for breakfast today, maybe its just that your body is burning through those refined carbs a lot faster than it would your normal breakfast?

I'm hungry too, I know what you're feeling. Having a very bad moment where I want to binge to 'kick off' the weekend like I always have done in the past. Hang in there cause the cravings for food will go away. You'll wake up tomorrow morning happy you didn't overeat.

I've been REALLY hungry for the past three days!!! What I do is let myself have a snack almost every hour (maybe hour and a half depending on what I'm doing.) I have a banana, then break, then a handful of nuts, then break, then an apple then break, then a piece of cheese, then break, and so on and so forth with fruit and veggies and buts. Having said that I still don't skip meals (so same lunch and dinner).

I think that sometimes, you can't figure it out, but you need to listen to your body. If you really are hungry, then that means your body needs some more nutrition. I find that when I listen to my body, it usually works in my favour! I've been eating more (all healthy foods), and still losing weight. But I am keeping a close eye on it, to make sure that I'm still hungry. I know that soon enough, this will pass and I need to make sure I go back to my norman eating when that happens.

When I had an unvanquishable hunger monster in my belly, its usually because:

-I ate too many carbs (especially starchy or refined ones)
OR
-I ate too much in general earlier in the day
OR
-I worked out hard the day before and didn't eat enough to fuel the workout
OR
-I ate too few calories in the preceding days
OR
-I waited too long between meals
Or some combination of these.

I feel like once I start to get that kind of hunger, its really hard to shut it off. You pretty much just have to wait it out. And analyze what caused it to keep it from happening again.

I turn into a bottomless pit when I eat bread products! I want more and more and more and I stuff my face. So I know for me, I need to avoid it entirely.

Maybe your system is trying to tell you it didn't like your breakfast :P or you need more nutrition for a couple of days, or something. A day of grazing sensibly on healthy foods (veggies, fruit, nuts, etc) won't hurt you.

Maybe it's a sign that your past few days were not satisfying- maybe too few calories, too little fiber/protein? Also the type of cereal makes a huge difference- if it's sugary and made with processed flour, then your blood sugar will drop quickly and you'll get hungrier.
