Every morning for me as well, though i Log my weight every week.
|
Every day, multiple times a day. But I only log in the morning.
It's obsessive I know but I only have two modes - obsessed or indifferent. Right now I'm indulging the obsessive me because she's working towards the same goal as i am. |
I weigh myself in the morning most days, but not everyday. If I'm feeling bloated or had a higher calorie day the day before or even sometimes when I lifting really intensely the day before I don't weigh in to spare myself the unnecessary grief of a potential water weight gain. I also only weigh in once or twice during TOM for similar reasons.
|
I was weighing wayyy too often. It used to just be once per day but had recently escalated to 3-5x per day, so now I'm trying for just once per week. Weighing everyday was making me crazy and obsessed. I felt like a failure if the number wasn't lower each day.
|
Every morning I record my weight but I'm totally guilty of hopping on during the day when I see my scale.. I don't however get upset by the numbers I'm just curious. If I've drank a lot of water/just eaten I think it's interesting.

I am about the same as GardenBurglar.
I try to avoid weighing on days I'm pretty sure it'll be bad, or else if I'm feeling good already about the number from the day before I'll avoid the scale for a day. Weighing a couple times a week seems to work best to keep be focused but not obsessed, and at my weight often gives me little burts of motivation throughout the week, with a half lb down here and there every few days. |
It used to be once a week or month for me. But, that lead to me eating whatever I wanted and gaining, and then being soooo upset at the end of the week or month that I would just give up.
So, I started weighing myself everyday. That way I can tell if my food choices (which I track on MFP) are making me gain weight. I celebrate if one day I weigh 218.8 and the next 218.5. It has really helped me keep on track and that was my big downfall before. I started in July at 251 and am now 218, so it's what works for me. I guess it depends on the person and their will power. For me, I had little will power until I started weighing daily. |
I've finally changed my thinking about weighing in all the time... It happened by checking in to a medically supervised program at a spa back in July for a much needed "vacation" from not only the scale, but from myself as well...
They weighed you once when you arrived, and that was it... No more scale for you... Just nice, simple nutritious meals, exercise, and a lot of soul searching... And it WORKED! Now when I hop on the scale, I don't let a number ruin my whole day... Because a number can't ruin my day... A number can't defeat me... Only I CAN DO THAT.... So I don't let a number tell me what to do anymore, whether it's up or down... I know what to do... And nowadays, I'm finally starting to give myself more credit for that than I used too, thank God! But hey... That's just me... |
I guess compared to the majority I'm obsessive but weighing in multiple times a day really helps me keep my eating in check- especially when trying to avoid a binge! If I'm wearing a sweatshirt or jeans (anything "bulky") I'll take it off, just to make the number as low as possible :P I know it's probably not good psychologically but I'm scared not to weigh myself and then get complacent....

Once every few days.
|
I weigh in a couple times a week at the most. I keep my scale in a pain in the butt place so it's more work to get it out compared to keeping it out in plain sight there I can hop on it all the time.
|
Every morning, unless I forget and then I wait till the next day. I don't want to weigh in after eating- lol

I'm like you. I actually don't even own a scale. So I end up checking when I'm at my parents or bf's or whatever. For me, I just find I fluctuate quite alot depending on the day and what I have to do for work. So for me to stress about my weight constantly isn't healthy for me. If I just weigh once in a while, then I feel better. Plus I know when I've gained weight. If my pants are tighter, I have got to be better! |
SacredKestrel I feel like this is where I'm at. I make good food choices, exercise 6 days a week and make good choices in general. I find the scale defeating and need to focus on the lifestyle, not the number. The number is becoming a distraction.
