Elliptical praise!!!!!!

  • OH MY! Last week I started using the elliptical at the gym and I can already see amazing results on my butt and legs!!!! I hated using that thing before I never would, now I wish I would have started sooner bc the results are mind blowing! If this keeps up in a couple of weeks my legs are going to look fabulous!!

Anyone else every use the elliptical and have amazing results. How many mintues did you go what distance and what was the resistance? Please share im facinated to know!
  • Ellipticals with handles work the arm muscles as well, another plus.

I like to increase the resistance/decrease speed on ellipticals and bikes because it seems to stress my knees less, works the muscles not the joints so much. (This may just be me.)
  • I'm a fan of ellipticals too... I like to use them at the gyms in the hotels that I'm staying in when I travel because they are low impact and it doesn't wear me out... Since I use a heart rate monitor I don't worry about resistance... I just adjust it as I go along to keep my heart rate in my aerobic training zone... I just set the timer for 60 minutes and put the TV on CNBC or Bloomberg so I get a workout in while staying on top of what I need to know for work... Definitely a win - win in my book!
  • I have always used the elliptical in the gym. This winter after having my baby, I bought one on Craigslist and put it in my sunroom. It burns more calories per minute than any exercise I have found, and sometimes DOUBLE running.
  • I like the fact that in a half an hour I can go almost 3 miles... more than if I was on a treadmill. But a lot of the time if I go more than 30min my toes start to fall asleep... so I don't usually use it longer than 30min. I do know that when I use it I can feel that my legs and arms have both been worked out which is great!
  • I wish the one at my gym had the arms that moved ours doesnt only downside! but I still love it
  • Numb feet
Yep, the elliptical is great and your legs and butt will thank you for it. . . in the long run.

In any case, I too had the numb feet problem. I've started lifting the weight off of my "at rest foot" fixes that problem like a treat - the foot I'm pushing down carries my weight and it's the other foot I lift the weight off of...it doesn't need to come off of the pedal or anything, just enough to take the pressure off. I hope that makes sense to you and helps!
