Gotta love the compliments!

Been about a week since I started losing weight and a friend of mine just noticed and commented :) just got me thinking: what's the best compliment you've gotten on your weight loss?

I think the best compliment was SO MANY people not recognizing me :dizzy: I lost just about all of my weight over the summer and I've just started seeing a lot of people that I haven't seen since May. I've had quite a few of them not recognize me at first and then look at me wide-eyed and shocked and say "YOU LOOK FANTASTIC" or some variation of that.

I even had a couple of people walk right past me and not stop until I called out to them. Then their eyes bugged out.

I don't think I look all that different, but I suppose when you see someone and they're suddenly 40+ pounds lighter than you remember, it makes a difference.

That's awesome- compliments always put a little pep in your step, huh?

One that always stands out in my mind was from my brother-in-law. He likes to joke and tease a lot and is one of the few people I know who will very openly comment on weight/appearance (gotta love those cultural differences!). One day he looked at me and said something like "Wow, you're really cutting weight!" and I tried to deflect it, saying, "Well, I'm trying." His response was "No, you're not trying! You're doing it! Look at you!" It snapped me into reality a little bit and really made me own all my hard work. I am doing it- he's right!

It also made me feel pretty good this afternoon when my trainer was telling me how much my hard work was paying off and how much I'm improving. Then he set up a little number called a "hamstring negative" (there's only your hamstrings between you and a faceplant into a bench) and I wasn't too thrilled about that anymore :).

It's got to be the people at work who walk by and call me "skinny chick" it makes my day :)

My favorite was: "Is that you???" :D

It was funny, I've been losing weight for a few months but it was a few weeks ago that they all started happening at once! A girl at work said "You look REALLY good! You look like you've lost loads of weight!" I know that it might not seem like a particularly interesting compliment, but it came out of no where so it meant a lot to me =). I'm just hoping that when I see my boyfriend next I'll be a lot lighter, seeing the look on his face will be the best compliment!

I think for me it's my students noticing that I've lost weight and upgraded my style.

I've gotten a lot of compliments from a lot of people but the one I like best is that my husband has been calling me "skinnywife." :)

One that sticks out is when I was having lunch with some friends I went to college with and midway through one of them shouted " I cant believe how good you look! You look like a model." It was as if she was so blown by my loss she couldn't help but interrupt our lunch to compliment me. I was beaming!

When we were moving last month, one of my husband's work friends came over to help. I had never met him before and I came out to say hi. Apparently after I went back inside he told Brian that I looked amazing for just having a baby. In all fairness, our baby was 6 months old, so I'm not exactly newly PP, but still. ;)

I also went to visit my husband at work last week and a girl he works with said, "Your wife is hot!" (she's a lesbian). This made him so proud. LOL

two things. about 2 weeks ago i was talkign to my gym buddy about starting going to the gym and another guy was like "you arent actually going to go to the gym" i pretended to be offended and he was like "no i mean, you look fine...*looked me up and down*...you look good. most people just dont actually go to the gym". It made me feel good that I now fall into that category of people who look like they have ever been on a treadmill lol
i also loooove when my husband tries to compliment me on my weight loss. it goes something like "your legs look thinner babe...i mean, you looked really good before, you dont have to lose weight for me to think you're sexy...but your legs really do look more toned." Hes afraid to compliment me for fear of making me feel like i wasn't attractive before lol

Riestrella - seeing my boyfriend again is my motivation too, won't be for a few more months but by then, well, I really want that compliment too. And looking forward to it makes getting into the gym a heck of a lot easier

I see my boyfriend every day but the other day he said (jokingly) "Jeeze eat some food! You're getting so skinny!" I've only lost 8 pounds but my clothes are already starting to fit differently. Also, I tripped over my own foot last night at a bar (I'm extremely clumsy) and as I walked by a group of guys one said "I saw you fall. It's okay because you're still hot." I think knowing you're losing weight gives you a boost of confidence and THAT'S what people notice.
