I can relate too, I've been living in Asia for a year now and at 5'9' and nearly 240 pounds I stick out like a sore thumb. It's easy to compare yourself to what's around you/what's expected of you. Sometimes I'll spend the day walking around the city only to come home and do a double-take at my reflection. I look nothing like the people I've seen all day.
Not exactly the same situation, but I do understand. Try to make the changes that are resonable for you. Most people will never fit into the double zero designer European clothing lines, either. That does not mean you aren't normal. Also, I know Asian people that aren't overweight but who can't shop in Asian brands. It has to do with their frame. Don't fret!
