Stickin' to it this time!

  • And nothing is going to stop me!! I've been on this site for a few years now and last year I lost about 40lbs and got pregnant and gained it all back + some . YAY for baby, NAY for weight gain! Well now I'm unpregnant and almost 11 weeks post partum. I've been back on the wagon for about 2 weeks now and I've lost about 15lbs which I'm sure alot of it is water weight from my pregnancy still. I'm down to 234, but I was 204 this time last year.

My fiance and I, after 2 children and almost 10 years together next year, have finally decided to get married!!! The wedding is set for June 16th 2012 and I'm staying on track. I will not even look for a wedding dress until I'm at least under 200lbs and I want to look good and feel good on my wedding day.

So I'm going to stick around here more and stay on track, I love the support from this group!!!
  • Congrats on the new baby and wedding!

And hey, water weight or no, a loss is a loss. That's fifteen pounds you're not carrying around anymore. You should be proud!
  • Thanks, I definitely am...it's definitely slowed down. I've only lost 1lbs since Friday but I'm in a different mind set this time. 1lb is 1 less than I was before and if I lose 1-2 a week it's better then staying the same or gaining lol. I really just need to push myself to work out more. I can eat healthy all day long, but I need to get up and move more!!! That's definitely my biggest problem!!
  • Congratulations & keep at it! ^^
  • Congrats on the baby and the upcoming wedding..wishing you a successful journey
  • Good luck and congratulations!

One thing I'd add... I'm having my wedding ceremony this summer and back in January, when I was just below 200, I tried on a wedding dress. Ended up buying it, knowing I could get it taken in. Last week I had a fitting to try it on again and after losing nearly 25 lbs since I bought it, the change is amazing! It's such great motivation to have that before and after image in my mind now! So while I understand your desire to wait to look at dresses, for me it was a great way to stay on track and not slip up, especially because the dress can't lie to me about how I fit in it, but my eyes never see the changes in my own body when I just look in a mirror.

    Be seeing you around.
  • Congratulations! It sounds like you are making some positive changes in your life!
  • Congrats and well done, you seem motivated and raring to go... Aww thats such a good occasion to make you move
  • Glad that you came back to the forums! Grats on the 15 pounds, I think i found it hehe. Good luck! I'm sure having the wedding in the back of your mind will keep u on track.
