I dont know a lot about POF... my best friend was using it and met an amaaazing guy. But I will say, she had to go through some pretty interesting and crazy ones on that site before she found the guy shes with now.
Plenty of Fish...never used it, but my husband and I saw a commercial for it a few weeks ago and thought, what the heck...we looked at people in our area just out of curiosity.
One of them is a registered sex offender who didn't mention that on his profile, for obvious reasons.
