Have any of you ever tried or heard of the kopenhagen diet? It's a very strict 13 day diet, I've read that it kickstarts your metabolism, and of course weight loss, I started it few days ago, it's really hard. I'm not sure if it's good or if it actually works, I'd like some opinions
I didn't know what it is so I looked it up. While you seem to be getting good proteins and some healthy veges in on the diet, it does also seem a bit extreme. It also seems really strict and while it could be good for training yourself to be in control of what you're eating, it's definitely not something that would be sustainable for a long period of time (which is why I'm guessing it is only meant to be followed for 13 days...).
The main thing I want to point out is that starting any new, healthier way of eating generally leads to a fairly significant loss in the first 2 weeks, which is often a lot of water weight - still weight loss. I just don't think fad diets like this are necessary. I wish you luck though, everyone has different things that work for them.
Hmmmmm I have never heard of it. Since the previous poster said proteins and veggies were included I would say....since it is only 13 days it might be something you can do while researching what you will do after those 13 days. Hopefully you can find something more substanable for you to do in the long run. Good Luck!!
I've never heard of this diet and I can't really find any info on it, what's it like? All the search results I got were forum posts with people talking about how they had no energy and had to make sure they weren't doing anything for those 13 days, and somebody quoting a website warning against doing it more than once a year because it doesn't provide enough nutrition.
from what ive looked at i dont know which part of this is supposed to kick start your diet. Looks like black coffee for breakfast, some meat for lunch with a piece of lettuce and lemon, fruit salad or sometimes nothing at all for dinner. I have no doubt you will lose weight on that diet. If you eat very little of anything you'll lose weight though
I have a hard time to sticking to fad diets...heck I still don't even really have my own diet I'm working on other then choosing more healither meals instead of processed box crap. I eat mostly healthy drink tones of water and work out. I enjoy working out so going on these diets aren't for me simply because I need lots of energy. I did an hour and a half of a workout yesterday and was STARVING afterwards...I guess if your not doing the excersis' yet it might work. I don't know I'm an extremely b!tchy person when I don't get food in me (or the right amount) so these fad diet things don't work for me.
It's definitely a fad diet, and while it's not the worst one I've seen, does seem to be very low calorie. It seems like you could strictly follow your own plan and see the same results
a friend gave it to me she said she feels a lot better after doing it, thats why I started, I have read mixed reviews on it online, but still decided to try. And even tho its so low in carbs and calories, for some reason i feel like i have lots more energy than i did before. I also work out with it, but only at home, I do my pilates videos, some crunches or run.
Im sure its not a very healthy way to lose weight, but with my very very weak power of will, it might be a good start. Now after few days im mostly thinking about how much more disciplined this will make me....hopefully
Its really hard to turn your back on bad eating; for the past two years, since i got married my diet has mostly been fast food, pasta, frozen meals....and the worst one, eating late at night, and as much as i wanna eat these left over enchiladas that are in the fridge right now, im thinking im already on day 5, and i have to stick with it......
and after my 13 days, i was thinking about the standard 5 small healthy meals a day diet, how are you guys eating??? i feel so lost, ive never been on a healthy diet before....
One thing I learned about fad diet or extreme diet like this one...: You will gain weight once you stop the fad diet even if you are eating healthy afterward because you are still eating more than what you were eating during the fad diet.
I'm mainly trying to focus on my portion control along with eating complex carb, lean meat, fruits, and veggies. The golden rule of eating consciously and stopping when you are no longer hungry, NOT when you are full...is the main point of my portion control.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
ha thanks, thats a great point, because i will be eating more...i have no idea, im gonna research more diets and find the right one for me, and hopefully it will work

If you keep up with the diet, I'd recommend not weighing for 1-2 weeks after you switch to another diet. Increasing your food intake won't necessarily cause a FAT gain, more a water/bloat gain. That gain usually declines after a few days, and as long as you're sticking to whatever other plan you choose, you will continue to lose weight, just not at as fast of a pace. But some people get discouraged when they come off a diet like this, see a 5ish pound gain the day after, and go back on the diet or just give up. But if you wait a week or so to get yourself settled into your new plan, it might be nicer.

60 lbs in 6ish months is about 2.5 lbs a week or 10 lbs a month. It's doable, but it might slow down after the initial loss. I lost my first 50 lbs in six months, but it slowed down for me after that. I haven't given myself any sort of deadline or timeline, though.
I calorie count, using about.com's Calorie Count, and log what I eat in a journal as well. When I first started I ate a lot of frozen dinners, processed foods, meal replacement shakes, etc., but I've been moving toward more whole foods and cooking my meals. It's really a trial and error process. I started out thinking I HAD to eat 1200 calories to lose weight, and at 230 lbs that low wasn't really necessary, so I've been increasing and decreasing as I go along.
