Question Weighing Question!?

Hello everyone,
I was just wondering what people's opinion on the best time of day to weigh yourself is to give the most accurate weight!?
Any advice would be helpful, I am a bit clueless about all of that, I have only just got some digital scales.
Also, should I be measuring myself like my waist etc?! Or should I choose one or the other?! What do you guys do?!
Thanks for reading! Sorry it's a bit of a jumble!

just weigh at the same time daily...however most of us to it first thing in the morning before eating or drinking anything and after using the bathroom.

I do it naked, others do it in the same clothes...

weight really does fluctuate however if you're consistent with your weigh in time you should see consistent readings

Haley hit it right on the head.
As far as doing waist or weight, if you do measurements, it'll be just another thing to look at as far as progress goes. If you are working out and weight training, sometimes you won't see those results on the scale, but you'll definitely see them on measurement changes. I'd say at least take measurements once a month!

Agree with the two ladies ahead of me.

AM weigh-in's before you do anything are ideal because it will give you your most natural weight (I can gain up to 2 lbs alone by just having a glass of water before I weigh in).

As for measurements I would suggest keeping track all your body measurements. It will keep you motivated with you hit a plateau and the scale isnt moving but will show you that you are shrinking!! I measure every 2 weeks to a month and track it all in a spreadsheet.

Good Luck on your Journey!!!

Same here. But I know others that do WW that only weigh in at their meetings and others that prefer to do it at night (I could never do that).

I think the best time to weigh is when you will get consistent results. It makes sense that first thing in the morning post-pee and pre-shower will give you the best results. Food and water weigh a lot at the end of the day! And the weight of that food and water will vary. It wouldn't make sense for me to weigh after dinner one day and first thing in the morning the next.

I weigh myself every morning. I pee, strip, then jump on the scale!

I also follow the common pre-shower morning weighing routine. I try not to focus too much on the daily numbers though and just record my weight about once a week. I love stepping on the scale and seeing a significantly smaller number than just a month ago. I have been trying to track measurements as well although I haven't settled on a good frequency for doing so yet; probably once or twice per month.

Nope! I weigh every 1-2 weeks. I'm awful. I will see a loss and go, "yay! Who wants a banana split?"

It's just better for me to space it out.

I weigh daily at work (Fully clothed, they have a much more accurate scale than I have at home). But with daily weigh-in's you are more likely to see all the natural fluxuations that you body goes through and could be discouraging. I track my weight on an app on my iTouch and it keeps me accountable!

KayNicole - Thanks! Now he's getting out of his Kitten phase but still so stinking cute!!

I weigh myself totally naked every morning. I have read and been told your morning weight is your accurate weight.

At the start of the weight loss journey I took measurements on my butt, hips, waist, chest, arms and legs. I would recommend this because it can show you the difference in your body that you might not see in the mirror.
