Lightbulb Wow. You can get "out of shape" that quick?

Just an observation that I want to share with all my lovely 20-somethings. But to get there, I'll have to make a little confession... that being - I basically rolled over and died this weekend.

Part of me has just been losing motivation to exercise lately. And classes started on Thursday, and I've been trying to readjust my fitness schedule. Between that and the fight with a friend that made me miserable literally all weekend... (We're good now, though...don't worry) I have not done a thing since Thursday. And yesterday I was literally sat at my computer for a good part of my day.

I will say this for myself... for as upset and stressed I was this weekend, my diet didn't suffer *too* bad. I think Sunday was the only really bad day when I had both Subway and Burger King. (And I don't normally let myself do "fast food" unless I'm going to be working out...that's the only reason I felt bad)

But to the point. I finally kicked myself in the butt today and forced myself to do BFBM. (Because I figured I needed a nice long cardio session) I don't usually have too big a problem with that. It's a challenge...but I'm not usually dying. But today? omg - kill me. I barely made it through it, and I came out of it with my shirt pretty much completely saturated. And now, about 10 minutes later my stomach is in knots and really just want to curl up in a cold shower and never come out. Haha.

I'm just shocked, really. It's only been 4 days... does it really take that long to sabotage your cardio abilities? That's crazy! What are your experience, guys?

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekends! xoxo

Ugh, I know what you mean. I had a pretty bad week too. I've been insanely busy since school started (I teach a couple of college classes now, but I do way more work than I ever did as a BS or MA student) and I just started a second job. Because I've been so busy, I ate out for one meal every day for the last six days in a row. I wasn't making extremely horrible choices and still managed to lose a pound, but I haven't gotten the spare energy to exercise. So I thought that my feeling like a blob would be the worst part, but tonight I went out for a walk. Grrr! I was out of breath after walking a shorter distance than my normal walks. I freaking practiced softball last Tuesday night for two hours and tonight I was out of breath just walking to the field! Between teaching and my day job, I work from 7:30am until 10:00pm tomorrow and have to be back up for work at 7:30am Thursday. Exercise is so not happening tomorrow. I'm freaking out that I'm going to lose all the progress I've made.

Well, it takes a lot longer to actually fall out of shape. I just read an article on this and I can't for the life of me remember where it came from. I'll look around...

I have sessions like that every once in a while, but I've found that it's more related to me being tired or exhausted. Maybe your body is adjusting to the all the changes in the past week? It sounds like you've been busy! I bet your next work out will feel a lot better
