Default What did you eat this morning?

Seeing it's the weekend and all, I was curious what others had for breakfast in the morning compared to myself. So today I ate roughly 340 calories to start my day off right!

2 slices wheat bread 140
1 egg 70
Fat free milk 80
.5 TBSP Peanut butter 48

Mmmm Can't resist that peanut butter, but I'm getting better at limiting myself!

I wasn't hungry but I made myself eat:

1 cup serving Greek non-fat yogurt
1/2 cup strawberries
1/4 cup raspberries
1 tsp of Shaw's brand maple syrup sweetened with Splenda

Coffee
2 Tbs 2% milk

About 225 calories?

Tofu scramble with tomatoes, peppers, onions - 130
Whole wheat toast - 80
1/4 Avocado - 75
Banana - 110

Total: 395

I try and stay in the habit of having a bigger breakfast because during the week when I have classes, half the time I don't get the chance to have a proper lunch other than pb & j and a piece of fruit or something because of how busy I am.

hmmm....yall are making me more hungry! A lot of that sounds delicious!

I was boring, I had a bowl of oatmeal with 3 tblsp's of peanutbutter in it (a trick I learned from my nutritionist while pregnant, I get gestational diabetes) and a cup of soy milk. Oatmeal was over 300 calories, and I haven't read the soymilk calories (I'm having a lazy morning..). Too many calories, I need to cut back the amount of peanutbutter in my oatmeal when I do that ^_^ (I excuse myself by saying I'm still breastfeeding blah blah blah, but thats probably why my weight's plateau-ed the last few weeks......because I excuse it....I usually put a couple packs of pure-via in my oatmeal but I splurged this morning and did peanutbutter. WHICH is a very healthy and interesting alternative for oatmeal, but not at the amounts I like to put in it......)

I had a yummy oatmeal concoction after my run this morning...to balance out the granola bar I had pre-run which was pretty much just tasty tasty sugar:

1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup frozen wild blueberries
~1 cup unsweetened almond milk
some salt and cinnamon

It was super awesome! I tried almond milk on a whim because I'm trying to reduce my dairy intake (I'm a total cheeseaholic at heart) and I love it! It's pretty low cal too, 30 calories for a cup - I'm still shocked that it doesn't have more cals than that, but I'll take it

All this talk of eggs and scrambles makes me want an omelette for lunch. I think I'm going to make one with kale, jalapenos, fresh tomatoes, tomatillo salsa, avocado, and maybe a little cheese - basically, all of the random stuff I have lying around. It sounds like a weird combo, but I had something similar earlier in the week and it was awesome.

I found these mini bagel things called Toufayan Smart Bagels in the store the other day. They're like little flat bread bagels... they're 100 calories and low fat. So I had one of those with some garden veggie cream cheese.

Bagel - 100
Cream Cheese - 25
Water - 0 (lol)

Total - 125

(I'm not always so low on calories in the morning. I usually drink a protein shake, because I generally don't do the whole eating solid food in the morning thing (haha) , and that's 260 calories.)

Just went out to breakfast and had "Mediterranean scramble" - eggs with feta, fresh basil, and tomatoes mixed in. Mmm so yummy. I also had french press coffee and some honeydew melon. Delicious! ooh and maybe a bite of my boyfriend's cheesy potatoes... probably around 350 calories?

Yesterday I had real breakfast:
--oatmeal (180 cals)
--cherries (60 cals)
--1/4 cup of low-cal almond milk (10 cals)
--ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg (the ginger is the key!)

Today, though! I know I'm having pizza with friends tonight, so oatmeal seemed too heavy.
--broccoli (110 cals)
--veggie chili (200 cals)
--yogurt (110 cals)

A little bit heavy breakfast, but all I've got to get me through 'til dinner at 5:30 is a 100-cal granola bar, so that'll keep me full for a long time and it'll even out OK...

Blend!

1 half for breakfast, 1 half for lunch. I LOVE starting my morning off with a fruit smoothie. It's very refreshing and I've come to really look forward to it.
