Default Any 6 ft girls?!

Hey, I'm Shannon! I'm new here and I want to see if I can connect with someone for motivation that is either in the same boat as me, or was before. I'm 6 ft tall, and have a LOT of weight to lose....I'm new at all this, so if we can maybe share recipes or even just motivation, I would appreciate it. I have a friend going to the gym with me, but she has no where near as much to lose as I have to....check out my info and see if you have stats in common with mine, I'd love to chat about things that have worked for you and get some ideas! Thanks in advance! Looking forward to hearing from everyone!

Although I'm not quite 6' and I don't have as much to lose... I thought I would chime in here. First of all, WELCOME!! I'm sure you'll come to love it here, as most of us have. The 20-somethings area is great! Also, if you're looking to find people who have/had quite a bit to lose, you can always check out the 100 club area - there are many positive people in there as well and perhaps even one that's got stats close to yours. Hope to see you posting here often!

Sometimes I feel that tall. I'm usually the tallest one in the group. Welcome to 3FC and good luck!!

Welcome! I'm 5'11 but like 6'3 in heels if that counts. It is a struggle being tall because you cant compare yourself to the average 5'5-5'8 woman. We carry more weight than the average women and its heartbreaking. Good luck! If I can do it you can do it too

Heya!
I'm right there with you...I re-started my "healthy lifestyle" in November and weighed in at 326, I am down to about 305 now. I call myself 5'10 just to make myself feel better but I'm more like 5'11.5 ---ha! I have a mental block against 6'0. What has worked for me each time I've lost weight is just tracking my calories and exercising. I'm not one of those people that can stay on a strict plan of "eat this and never that" or whatever. In 2007 that is how I lost about 75 lbs....sadly I gained it all back due to life circumstances. But here I am again!!

Good luck on your journey whatever you decide to do!!

Hey Chevy! Welcome.

I am not 6ft, I am about 5'10.5; I am not 20 something either. However I did have a lot of weight to lose.

I know what it feels like when someone almost faints b/c they cannot believe you weight "that much".....b/c like Pammy said, we carry more weight than the average woman.... and I will add we will (well should) never be a size 2 or 4. Most of the time we will stay in the double digits (otherwise we look sick).

I wish you the best of luck! You can do this!

Thanks everyone! This morning I joined our local fitness center! I was kind of disappointed we were only able to work out for 40 minutes before we had to leave so my friend could get home so her hubby could make it to work. Tomorrow morning, I am picking her up at 5am, she only lives like a block and a half away from the gym so I think if she has to leave early I am going to stay longer. Today, I walked a mile on the treadmill and did some upper body weights,....I'm not really sure what I should be doing, and the trainer doesn't get in until long after we are gone. *sigh*....anyone have any routines they follow at a gym? Also, FOOD is the biggest thing for me....I just don't know what to be eating....I feel like that's where I fall off, I buy cottage cheese, tortilla wraps, chicken breast, broccoli, and special k bars....then I get bored by those and POOF! Game over, I'm eating pizza with my 6 ft 2 170lb twig of a boyfriend!!!

Hi there! I am 5' 11" and have a bunch to lose as well. I came axcross this post in my wanderings and thought I would see how things were going...i hav e the same problem you have with the foods becoming boring. Try posting to ask for different ideas. I had someone respond to my post saying she has a baked apple with cinnamon, raisins, and walnuts. Sounds great to me but I need instructions
