Default For those of you that have done c2k program??

How were your results at the end of the program. This is my second time doing it and because Ive been working out for the past year it feels so good to run. Im just curious though, for those who have finished the program what was the results like for you. How much did you lose? How long were you able to jog? How about your time and whatever else you would like to say that u want.

Today I ran for five mins straight and Im pretty happy about that. Ive never been a runner/jogger but these days im so motivated to become one!

Hi Matilda. Awesome on your 5 minutes! Any workout that makes you feel like you accomplished something is a good one! That's what I loved about C25k--I felt like I was accomplishing something.

Unfortunately, at the end of it, I could run the 30 minutes or whatever... but so slowly, that I was nowhere near hitting 5k. I have short legs and started when I was 210 lbs--that I could run at all was a miracle! So I enjoyed it and got through it, and then got a little burned out on running, and switched to indoor cycling for a few months. Next time I hopped on a treadmill, my endurance was better and my legs were stronger--and I found that I could run 5k, but it took 45 minutes.

So my results were that I got my time up, but the distance didn't happen. I lost weight, but only as part of a diet-exercise program. But still, I definitely recommend the program, because it got me comfortable with running.

Take it slow if you need to and/or repeat days/weeks, and if you get bored with running, switch to some other cardio for a couple days, but definitely don't STOP--I found that if I got lazy for a week or more, I lost the progress I had made.

I started running maybe a month ago. I ran a mile straight just to see if I could. I decided from there to jump into the C25K program in week four. I did two weeks of the program. When I realized in the middle of the 20 minute run at the end of week 5 that it was easier at a slower speed I decided during my next session to attempt the full 5K and I was successful. So I sort of did C25K...sort of not.

I have only one real issue with the program. It gives the option of running X distance or X amount of time, which are not equal. It assumes running at a pace of 6.0 which is a 10 minute mile. I was nowhere near that speed and still am not. I run comfortably now at 4.8 and will be thrilled when I can run a 5K at 5.0. I'm currently working on speed. I guess my beef is that if I ran for 30 minutes, I would not be running 5K. It takes me just under 40 minutes and the first time I completed it the run took about 45 minutes.

Now I actually prefer running intervals, increasing the length of the run times. Right now I'm running 8:00 minutes and walking 2:00 for a total of an hour. I run/walk about 4 miles in that time frame.

What has it done for my weight loss? I'm not really sure because there are so many activities I'm doing right now. But I think running may be the cause of my new calves. My weight loss has sped up this month, but my overall activity level has increased this month too.

I too did the C25k program twice. Once just to be able to run for 30 minutes, the second time to increase my speed.

I am now able to run a 5k in 27 minutes! Did an 8k in 46.

I started my running journey back in January, inside on a treadmill. Now that the weather is nice, my running has moved outdoors.

I do at least 4 runs a week, 6 miles each. HIIT one day, hills one day, and a day of complete rest.

My weight loss has slowed, but I think it's because my body likes the weight I am right now. So for me, running hasn't kicked started any great losses, but it has helped me obtain a sleeker look to my legs and backside.

Not to mention how amazing I feel after a long run!

I've tried the program twice, but didn't finish either time because I started making excuses. (Too cold, no money to join gym, too busy etc...) I got into about the 7th week and felt FANTASTIC. I stuck to the program. I took one or two days in between running. I sucked it up and ran the times I was supposed to even when I thought I couldn't and I felt damn good about myself afterwards!

The program really does what it's supposed to - it eases you into running without making it too hard or turning you off it. While on that program, I ran 20 minutes without stopping for the first time ever.

Right now I'm tackling it again. I started myself on the 3rd week and I just finished the 4th week. I've lost 4 lbs in two weeks! On the days when I'm not running, I'm either cycling/spinning, walking or playing softball. I definitely think the cross-training is making the running easier

Anyway - it's a great program. I say go for it!!

I am one week away from finishing the program and I really think it is great. I count it as my exercise for the day and I really do enjoy running but I have not kept track of how much weight I have lost since starting it. I think the proper diet is more important when it comes to weight loss. If you do it make sure you pay more attention to the distances to be run in the plan rather than the time. That way you actually run 3 miles at the end of it.

I completed the program and I still run. I did two 5Ks and now I'm training for a 10K on the 3rd. I can run for at least an hour straight now.

It works, you just have to adapt after the program is over and figure out what you want to do with your running once you can do it.

Yeah I am also loving the program, this isnt my first time doing it though but this is my first time doing a running program and sticking to it. Im not really doing the c2k program I would rather say im kind of doing hiit. I basically jog/walk for 30mins four times per week. I jog until i cannot jog anymore and then I walk and keep alternating. Im sore and I feel the burn Im loving it. I hope next year ill be still running.
