Morning Ladies!!!!

Man I feel like I've been so out of the loop cause I felt like poop all last week. I'm feeling much better, my cough sounds like crap, but I sound much worse than I am.

I'm so ready to get back to the gym (kind of LOL I know its going to be hard to get back into the routine) and getting those endorphins going.

Friday after work I went out with some coworkers and had a lot of beer and a bad dinner.... then there were some other not so fantastic choices and the weekend finally caught up with me this morning, but it's not bad.... and I'm sure working out this week will certainly help.

I hope everyone had a GREAT weekend. Mine was super lazy and it was nice for a change.

Here's to another on plan, kick butt week!!!! :carrot:

MisplacedMyHailo 05-03-2010 08:35 AM

Good morning! Boo to another rainy Monday...nothing worse than having to come to work in the dampness.

We brought the horses home on Friday!!! I am so thrilled to have everyone in one spot and to know that they are happy and well cared for. Toy is looking ribby, so I'm looking forward to getting some more weight on him. I'll give them both a few days to settle in, but then it's back to work for both of them.

I have discovered that we are literally 10 mins from the local hunt club, which has all local fixtures and is very welcoming to new members. They have been awesome and have sent me all kinds of info. Turns out the membership is about half of what we've been paying in our prior club, so I am just thrilled beyond words! They have invited us to a trail ride in June, so I need to leg up both Toy and Taylor, since my mom won't have the time of physical strength to get her back in shape.

With all that has been going on, I hadn't weighed at all until Sunday morning. TOM is due any day now and I know that I am retaining (my boobs are killing me! haha). I sucked it up and stepped on...165.4! DO WHAT!?! I am super excited, but chose not to weigh this morning. I feel like by weighing daily, I've been stressing a little too much. Maybe stepping back to every other day will be better...

stellarosa27 05-03-2010 08:54 AM

Good Morning, ladies!!

Feral I'm glad that you're feeling better!! I can't wait to work out again, as well. I'm aiming for tomorrow for that to start up again.

Lauren - yay horsies! What is a hunt club?

I woke up to my foot throbbing :( I have a massage today at 1, so I might leave my bandages on until then because I'm going to take a post- massage steam shower, and I don't want to waste first aid supplies :)

Samantha417 05-03-2010 09:06 AM

Morning everyone!

Lauren - yay for the horses being home!!

Feral- glad you're feeling better, the cough is always the last thing to stick around...damn pesky coughs!

Stella- enjoy the massage, hopefully it'll do you some good!

Well I had a bad weekend again. I tried staying on task, but I was just bored...which is always a bad thing. My roommate made pizza too..So the scale this morning said 143.6...but I really think that most of it is water weight because this same thing happened last weekend and it dropped off so easily. I can't wait to go home cause I won't be influenced by 3 roommates. My mom's losing weight too so it'll be nothing but healthy foods! But back on track today...I know friday and saturday will be bad with senior bar crawl and graduation (possibly a dinner) so after that, it's a clean slate. But I've also started running again because I feel so great after. I do a 5 minute walk before, and then run for 30 minutes straight. I think by the end of the week I'll be able to run for longer...woo hoo!

Finals start tomorrow...we still have classes today which I think is ridiculous. Our school actually has a policy that we're supposed to have one day before finals where we don't have classes. Apparently they decided to throw that policy out the window!

My back pain is gone now, but it has been substituted with sunburn on my back. It still hurts enough that I can't wear a bra so I've been wearing nothing but dresses and tube tops all weekend long. Of course it's crummy today, but warm...so I can get away with it. We're supposed to be getting rain...everything is wet, but it's not raining now, and it should stop by 2. We'll see.

Have a great day everyone, I probably won't be on here until friday, so have a good week too!!

MisplacedMyHailo 05-03-2010 09:19 AM

Stella - I'm sorry your foot is bothering you. The massage will help for sure...if nothing else, the rest of you will feel so good, you'll be able to ignore it. Also, I have to thank you for the heads up on the Roy's in Gaithersburg! haha We looked it up on the Blackberry when I had an appointment in Bethesda and hit it up. Delicious! (don't even start, Haley! ;D)

As for the hunt club business... We really enjoy participating in foxhunting. Before anyone goes all "animal rights" on me, please know that there is a HUGE difference between hunting in the states compared to Europe. For the most part, the sport focuses on riding horses to hounds in hunt country...like a really formal trail ride with lovely hounds. Heck, most of the time there aren't even any foxes to see! If there is a fox, it is in it's natural territory (not bagged and brought), with the object of getting it to go to ground or be treed. If the hounds are getting too close, they are called back, then restarted to allow for chase, but to give the fox plenty of lead time. I only know of two times when a hound got too close and couldn't be called off. (In those cases, though, it was quick for the fox.)

It's a lot of fun to get all dressed up and spend a day with a group in the woods and out in the fields. There are typically two groups at eat outing, called "fields" or "flights". The First Field are essentially those who go fast and jump. The Second Field doesn't jump. Sometimes there is also a Third Field (or Hilltopping Field) that goes much slower and just sightsees. This is more our speed. Toy loves the hounds, too, so he's thrilled to see them running with him.

Skinnybride 05-03-2010 09:21 AM

Its a nasty rainy Monday ICK I did get my day started with turbojam sculpt good 40 min weight training workout. Has anyone tried the crystal light new flavors like metabolism green tea and peach or satisfy hunger strawberry banana? I picked up one of each yesterday i had the hunger one last night with grapes and wasnt hunger afterward and trying the metabolism today both taste pretty good dont know if they really help anything or not.
I was up 2 lbs from sat morning i guess the ribs i had yesterday that were so yummy are the cause but i had them for lunch and dinner so i'm sure i was good calorie wise but i bet there was a lot of sodium in them.

Feral 05-03-2010 09:34 AM

Lauren - yay for having your babies back home!!!!! And YAY for the scale. I don't know how you are around TOM but hopefully you'll have a WOOSH after!!!

Soooooo fox hunting is basically getting all dressed up and pretending to be Europeans? [hahah I'm sure it's fun, I was just making a funny, sounds interesting though!]

Stella - I laughed at your picture on FB that you posted of your wrapped up feet. I mean, it's not funny that you have to wrap them but it was cute. Purple and all.... Enjoy your massage, I know you will!

Samantha - sorry to hear about your back and your sunburn! Burt's Bees makes this AMAZING after sun lotion. If you can pick some up this summer. I live by the stuff but then again I don't burn very often. Good luck on your finals! Aren't weekends the hardest to get through, especially when you're hanging out with your friends (and about to graduate!)?

Skinny - I feel ya girl! It's supposed to rain here at some point today... and it's nice and humid. Hooray!

stellarosa27 05-03-2010 10:16 AM

Lauren that sounds like soooo much fun!!

Thanks, Feral. It's okay, I'm laughing at my feet :)

platformnine 05-03-2010 10:32 AM

Feral - I hope you feel better!

Stella - I hope the massage helps!

Samantha - Good luck on graduation! I had sun poisoning last summer all down my back and legs and I couldn't wear a bra or underwear :C It was maxi dresses all the time for me lol!

Last week of classes before I take a 2 week break for myself (and 12 weeks until Mexico, woo hoo!) so I may not be around so much this week! I have a final project to finish.

Have a good day ladies!

MisplacedMyHailo 05-03-2010 10:34 AM

haha Feral - you got it...totally about getting dressed up and being European. Wait...I've noticed a pattern of my getting dressed up and playing pretend here...first the Colonial Farm and now foxhunting!!

I have always shown my horses as hunters, but the rings have gotten so political anymore. It's all about what barn you're with and who knows who. It has sort of taken the fun out of it for me. Foxhunting lets me have some of the formality of showing, but gets us outside of the ring. You are really riding...enjoying nature and time with your horse and people who want the same thing. It also lets you get onto some properties that are just FABULOUS, but privately owned. You see places you would have never even knew existed!

In other news, I have never looked forward to TOM so much! haha I am really eager to see if I have a whoosh, as I suspect is what happened last month! May is our month, chicky! 5 lbs to go for the 160s!

JennyG 05-03-2010 10:45 AM

Hey girls.
I'm so slack lately, but I'm here and I'm reading, I just have far too much happening in my life right now and its very overwhelming! But I just want ya's to know that I"m keeping up with the convo even though I may not be replying.
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and here's to a bran new week!
Hugs to those struggling and high fives to those who are doing so well!!!

HaleyisLove 05-03-2010 11:10 AM

Good Morning ladies

Lauren- My best friend growing up was a member of a hunt club and did all that fun stuff... also I was out one day in Croom/Baden area (you should totally know where that is) and I saw people on a fox hunt...it was the best most funniest thing ever

Also hunt clubs have awesome parties :)

Stella- enjoy that awesome massage...

Jenny- just stick around so that you feel better about staying on plan...even if you dont have much to say were here for you

Mary- Good luck with the school work and I'm sooooo jealous of your Mexico trip... after I take the lsat the boy and I are going to take a little trip somewhere... not as cool as Mexico though

Samantha- Good luck with everything, glad the semester is almost over... however I promise you will miss it, and you will miss seeing those roommates everyday and even the quirks you thought you hated

So I weighed in at 191 this morning... I guess the boys house makes me skinny lol....

I have had such a funny morning but I'm learning to roll with the punches and so I havent gotten mad and I've just gone with it... even if that included being late to work because I had no clue what time it was lol

have a fabulous monday and I hope it hasnt been as crazy as mine :)

platformnine 05-03-2010 11:42 AM

Haley - Awww that's so awesome! Mexico is a family trip, but I do want to take a trip with my boy somewhere for a weekend :D A little bed n' breakfast down the shore would be awesome!

MisplacedMyHailo 05-03-2010 02:05 PM

Samantha - Good luck on your finals! Nothing quite like the feeling of walking out after your last one... I really miss that whole "summer" thing. It's all so funny in hindsight. When you're a kid, school is so boring and you can't wait to get out. Oh what I would give to shake that little kid and tell her to take those damn naps...I could use those about now. ;D

Mary - Take me with you! I've never been to Mexico, but it sounds just fabulous. The beaches, mind you, not the skeevy border town drug dealing Mexico. lol

I'd like a vacation, too! I wish I could order up a week of 80 degree days, complete with warm sun (not hot), and breezes. Then I'd just stay home and play with my ponies all day and not melt to death or feel evil for making them work in high humidity. Someone could also pick up the river and drop that along my property line, then give me back that jet ski, we sold last year. Who should I take that up with? Does Santa work in May? :D

platformnine 05-03-2010 02:44 PM

Lauren - It's awesome there, we stay in the Riviera Maya and it's gorgeous!

Mmmmm, I just made the most delicious sandwich ever for lunch! It was turkey and lettuce with roasted red pepper hummus on toasted pumpernickel bread. So good!

Jess7286 05-03-2010 03:35 PM

Lauren - I want to go on a fox hunt! That sounds really awesome. But I would need one of those big black hats that those Euros wear. Only requirement. I'm glad you brought the horses home! Man, those minis you posted were so cute, and I don't even like horses that much.

Mary - Where in Mexico are you going? Have so much fun! The weather will be SO NICE. You mustttt snorkel :)

Feral - Glad you're feeling better. The medicine working with the congestion?

Haley - ONE MORE MONTH! Study hard :) Kick that test in the ***. What happened this morning? I'm curious now.

Stella - Enjoy the massage. Hope your feet feel better soon. I can only imagine big, big ouchies.

stellarosa27 05-03-2010 03:49 PM

Mary - I <3 Mexico. We used to go to Puerta Vallarta. Its on the coast, but its down south, in the mountains. My dad took me on this 6 hour horse back expedition into the rain forest. Sooo much fun.

Haley - Good for you for rolling with it :)

So, apparently if you walk 30 miles your dominant leg just turns into one huge muscle cramp. That was painful, and it does feel somewhat better, but she wants me to come back in a few days. Um, I don't have that kind of fundage at my disposal.

She also suggested starting to exercise again tomorrow. No running, but the elliptical on a light intensity for about 40 minutes may help loosen things up. Until then I'm wrapping my feet back up and I shall be applying IcyHot as much as possible.

Chele615 05-03-2010 05:14 PM

Stella ~ That stinks that your leg is acting up. Hopefully the elliptical will loosen things up and make it better for you.

Mary ~ Ooh...Mexico? Sounds like fun!!!

Feral ~ Glad you're feeling better this week.

I was away for the weekend in Canada with some friends and had a blast!!! I bought some new stuff at the Roots Outlet and found a Lulu tank top that I have been coveting for months on sale!!! haha And it is a size smaller than I thought I would be. It actually fits pretty good. I'm excited about it :)

This week will be a short work week since we have training we have to go to on Thursday and Friday. I feel like the school might self destruct since the entire special ed department will be at this training. LOL

platformnine 05-03-2010 05:32 PM

Stella - Oooh I hear Puerta Vallarta is awesome!

Those asking where I'm headed - We usually head down to the Riviera Maya (half hour from Cancun and Playa del Carmen) and stay at one of the Iberostar all inclusive resorts. We're going down the first week of August, when it's super hot lol. I prefer going in May, but August is usually our vacation month. It's an awesome resort and I recommend their resorts to anyone because they have several all over the world. They're very affordable and high quality and keep you quite entertained!

It is so gorgeous out. I want a bike really badly. Like, REALLY badly! And it would be cool to get the pedal adapters for my spinning shoes :3

jazzang 05-03-2010 08:33 PM

Ok girls, this is the week! I'm going to stay on plan all week, or try my hardest anyway. This week i have to take it easy on the hard workouts, cuz i'm running a 10K on saturday!!!! AND my mom is walking the 5K. SO excited. I'm going to head to kickboxing in a bit.

Soo... can anyone tell me why the scale has been stuck at 164 +/- 1 for like 3 weeks? lame... at one point i saw 162.5... but then we jumped right back up. GRRRRR... i want to get in those 150's so bad!

smisen 05-04-2010 10:20 AM

Morning ladies! Not much new to report over here - still working my butt off, literally and figuratively :) I've been trying to get back on track with my eating and exercise, but I've got enough going on in my life right now that I don't need to be too stressed out about having a cookie or two every now and then!

This weekend will be a big challenge for me, though - I'm headed back to MI for a long weekend that's going to involve a lot of different meals with different meals. I'm going to do my best to keep up with my exercise and focus on stopping eating when I'm full, but we'll see - hopefully the scale won't hate me too much when I'm back!

Jess7286 05-04-2010 06:05 PM

Jess - Good luck with the 10K! I'm skipping out on that one.

Mary - Man, Mexico sounds like a blast. So it'll be hot. That way you can get your tan out and lounge in the ocean. Do you scuba dive? You should! The all-inclusive resorts sound nice. We were going to do that one Spring Break but ended up just skipping out on that and partying ourselves. I bet they'll have lots of yummy food. Mmhmm.

In personal news, I got a free entry to run a 5K in Santa Monica (called Heal the Bay) on May 16. I don't know if I'm going to PR or anything but it'll be a good run before my 10K on the 22 and the hugeeee half in June. Holy crap. The Half is a month away...

stellarosa27 05-04-2010 06:13 PM

Hello ladies :)

I went into work late today on account of my lower back (not letting me sleep well). A co-worker suggested I ice it instead of putting a heat pack on, and oh my god. He's my hero of the week. I was just ablet od o 45 minutes on the stair master (on low intensity) and I feel great. My leg doesn't feel crippled and my lower back is fluid. Also, I sweat buckets from my back. It was very odd. I'm not weighing myself until Thursday morning - hopefully I can get a normal work out in tomorrow.

Skinnybride 05-04-2010 07:01 PM

So this morning i was 180 back down from my weekend ribs LOL I worked really hard today did a good workout and then did some doggie wears and then pushed mowed the backyard and realized i didnt have time this week for us to get the riding mower so i ended up pushing the front yard as well then at 3 went to do some landscaping work before my shower i hopped on the scale to see if i had a good day and 179 was staring back at me so excited hoping it stays there over night!
For dinner a concoction not sure what to call it ww penne ricotta, mushrooms, zucchini, pasta sauce and mozzarella smells yummy!

Chele615 05-04-2010 07:27 PM

Stella ~ I thought of you yesterday. I finally made it back to the gym after about 2 weeks and I did my 60 minutes on the elliptical. I was sweating buckets and totally exhausted at the end of my time, which is completely different than it's been recently. I remember you saying the same type of thing where you weren't sweating like usual.

I went for a walk today after school with my next door neighbor teacher. We went to the next town over to a walking path and walked about 4 miles give or take. It was awesome...but really buggy! haha We plan on doing it again and bringing bug spray the next time. It was something new and different and now I know how to get there for future reference. But the bad part is that it runs along an ice cream stand that could be very tempting in the future ;)

stellarosa27 05-04-2010 07:34 PM

Chele - doesn't it feel awesome after all of that frustration

I'm in class and she's talking about ethics. I have to take continuous thics classes for work. Kill me.

Taylor86 05-04-2010 09:01 PM

Hi! I am alive and doing well!

FINALS are going well and so is my working out/eating.

April was a hard month, only lost 3 pounds but a loss is a loss.

My goals for May:
No carbs after 6pm
No alcohol
Gym 4+ days a week
Hiking on Saturdays
Lots of water
Lots of veggies, fruit and lean meats
GET UNDER 200

JennyG 05-04-2010 09:08 PM

hey ladies! hope you are all well.

I met with my nutritionest today for appointment #2... Jenny's challenge, to not count calories but to follow Canada's food guide... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't count calories...are ya nuts?!?!!?? I'm gonna try it girls...I really am, see if I can get out of this plateau I've been in since January!

sgregg 05-04-2010 10:48 PM

Hey everyone! Guess I'm back on the boat....for now. :)

MrsDeenz 05-05-2010 12:02 AM

Hi everyone.. I'm new here, hoping to join in. :)

Iconised Ghost 05-05-2010 01:23 AM

Welcome MrsDeenz! Feel free to jump in any time :D

Man, packing to move out has got to be the most dusty experience I have ever had :faint:

stellarosa27 05-05-2010 07:01 AM

Icon I haaaate packing for that reason!

Mrsdeenz- welcome!!

I was able to sleep last night! I haven't really been sleeping well, but the exercise helped my back loosen a bit. Ooh sleep, how I love you :)

HaleyisLove 05-05-2010 09:25 AM

I love you ladies...I'm going to be taking a break from 3fc for a little while...

please keep me and my family in your prayers.... especially my sister...

I love you all and I'll be back soon :)

MisplacedMyHailo 05-05-2010 09:55 AM

Haley - You and your family are in my prayers! Take care, hun!

Good luck to all of those battling finals and papers! You're almost done!!!

I got a surprise day off yesterday! We had the farrier coming to do the horses tootsies, so it was already going to cut my day in half. Some friends wanted to come see the progress at the farm and most of the office had to attend a meeting and shut down early. I was able to spend the whole day with my ponies and enjoy the weather!

The scale read 165.4 again this morning. Totally thrilled by this and really excited to see if I get the post TOM whoosh! My 12s are super baggy today...I could definitely use a belt! The hubby wanted to go to Ledos Pizza last night in Colonial Beach, but I was a good girl and got a grilled chicken salad with light ranch. ;D It's so great to feel "far out" from the world in our rural setting, but be so much closer to shopping and dining options. I just can't get over it!

Moving the horses has been a success, except that Taylor (my mom's mare) is in season. Not too much fun with a little mini stud who thinks he's much larger than he is. She wasn't home two hours and she broke a board trying to get to him. Now Trouble (my mini mare) seems to be following suit. Tyke was being evil to her, so they have been separated. He's been screaming his head off since last evening and the rest of the horses couldn't care less! lol Hint that he's obnoxious!?

Samantha417 05-05-2010 10:13 AM

Hey ladies! I'm just quickly stopping by because the internet is ALWAYS a great procrastinator's tool. Actually, I'm digesting breakfast and I'll be heading to the gym at 11. But no time for personals...I have to actually force myself to the library to pretend like I actually care about studying for psycholinguistics and anthropology. This senioritis is hard!! I had my audiology final yesterday....Audio final: 1, Sam: 0. It definitely owned me. But I guess that's what happens when you only study for 1 hour. I had no motivation to study. But who cares?! I'm graduating...it won't matter! My mom doesn't care, so I don't hahah!

After the bad weekend, I'm back to 142.2...I had a brownie with strawberry ice cream yesterday, but I had also worked my butt off at the gym and I'm going to do the same today..so hopefully I can just maintain this. Finals week is so hard for me eating wise. That's another reason why I'm going to the library. I can't eat except the lunch I'll be packing for myself!! I'll just grab an iced coffee, take the stairs to the highest floor, and stay there! It'll be so much easier for me to be on track once I come home.

Alright, time to look at some notes and digest these cheerios. Have a great day everyone!

JennyG 05-05-2010 10:38 AM

Haley - you all are in my prayers! Take care sweetie!

sgregg 05-05-2010 11:04 AM

Good morning, everyone! I'm glad to be back...I needed to be. I have been skimming through and just went through a rough spell and did not comment on anything. It's time to get back into these conversations! :)

Samantha...yes, the internet is awesome at helping a procrastinator...I'm guilty of it too. I have one final today at 6pm and I have not studied yet either. I'm not worried too much about it. The man basically told us exactly what was going to be on the test.

JennyG...what is Canada's food guide? Is that like the food pyramid or something?

Taylor86...ya got some good goals! Good luck!

Chele615...I love walking with a friend. It makes the time go so much faster and my friend always pushes me to go faster and further than what I would normally do.

smisen...good luck this weekend! I think focusing on stopping when full is a good idea. ;)

jazzang...wow! a 10K? I have never imagined myself RUNNING that far. Good for you!!

platformnine...Mexico sounds like a lot of fun. I have never been, but would love to visit one day. Have fun!

Well for me...last day of my exams. I have one test this evening and then I'll be finished until June! I wish my break could last until August, but I just don't have the time to spare. This semester really kicked my butt, but I think I'm going to have all A's! I decided yesterday that I want to lose 50 pounds this summer. When is the first day of Fall? That's going to be my goal day. I tried the C25K a couple of times...man, it is sooo hard starting out. I need to stick with it and push myself. I have a problem with will power and I wish I had someone at the gym telling me to keep going...my own Bob or Jillian...haha! Anyway, I hope you lovelies have a great day!

Feral 05-05-2010 11:35 AM

Just checkin in really fast - I haven't fallen off the face of the planet. Yesterday was a really horrible day for me eating wise....and the past 2 days I think I've been living in the twilight zone.

My scale hates me this morning and is an effing liar because I did not eat enough calories between Sunday and today to gain 6 lbs. The effer had the audacity to say 188 this morning!!!!

I went to the gym Monday and yesterday. Therapy tonight so it's my off night and thank god I have therapy tonight - it's been a heck of a day already.

Hope you all are doing well. Hopefully I'll have time to check in more thoroughly later or tomorrow!

JennyG 05-05-2010 12:03 PM

Hugs to Feral!!! If it helps, I haven't lost a friggen pound since January...gosh darn plateaus!!!

Sgregg - yes I believe its alot like the pyramid..apparently I'm lacking heavily in fats and carbohydrates, so my task for the next 4 months is to focus on nutrition and not calories! HELP! lol.

stellarosa27 05-05-2010 12:24 PM

Jenny - I did that last week for my hike preparation. Its actually a lot easier than you think. I still paid attention to calories, but I focused more on the carbs/pat/protein ration (why thank you, fit day).

Feral - water weight. Your body is probably just shocked b/c you didn't eat well yesterday.

This is the slowest day ever.
