JennyG....All I got to say is...good luck! Haha!

vertigoskyy 05-05-2010 01:09 PM

Catching up, got a late start to this week...

Feral - Glad you're feeling better!

Lauren - Yay for having the horses home! I miss riding horses every day. :(

Stella - I am jealous of your massage! It's been at least two months since I've got one. I could really use it! I missed previous posts, what happened to your leg? I hurt my ankle about a week and a half ago and haven't been able to do anything on it since. I was on crutches for a week, probably still should be, but I couldn't take it anymore & am hobbling around. It feels like it's taking sooooo long to heel.

Samantha - I bet moving back home will give you an extra boost! With your mom eating healthy too, and no roommate sinfluencing you! I sympathize with your sunburn. I get them bad like that every year. I'm so pale skinned. :(

jazzang - Whoo hoo! Kick butt at that 10K! I also, am dying to be in those 150's so bad. It feels so close!

skinnybride- Your dinner concoction sounds wonderful!!!

MrsDeenz- Welcome!!

sgregg- Yay for last day of your exams! I'm done until August, but I wish I was starting my June class. :( My financial aid got messed up for the summer, so I have to wait until fall. I might be weird to be sad about that, haha.

----

I was really excited for tonight. My neighborhood association has a park (which is just a big area of green grass) that they use for all kinds of things. Starting tonight was (free) Yoga on the Green, every Wednesday night at 7pm, but of course, it's been raining all day. :(

Something I also love about my city is the different classes and activities they offer. Also, being that I'm a single mom & full time student they gave me a scholarship & I only have to pay 25% of the cost of the classes, which is awesome! So starting the week of June 14 I'm doing these classes:
Monday - Zumba
Tuesday - Yoga
Wednesday - Yoga on the Green
Thursday - Hip Hop
Saturday - Kickboxing & Toning
And it's only costing me $17.25 to do all that for 10 weeks, which is awesome. I didn't know what I was going to do with myself this summer with not taking summer classes...now I know!

My son is also starting classes. He's doing Tae Kwon Do for 10 weeks and also a 3-week (4 days each week) Tennis camp-type thing.

I wish it started sooner....I'm ready to do it!!

Samantha417 05-05-2010 01:36 PM

so I got an 82 on my audiology final. I'll totally take it since I barely studied!!

platformnine 05-05-2010 01:48 PM

Just skimmed because I'm running late, but Stella I'm glad to hear that you're feeling better! And Haley I hope you hurry back to us and that everything is alright

Wooo bye bye water weight :D I love stepping on the scale everyday and seeing a little drop every day. Did a great kickboxing workout and I'm off to the Phillies game tonight!

See you ladies later!

stellarosa27 05-05-2010 01:55 PM

vertigoskyy - I hiked 30.7 miles on Saturday. I was supposed to do 62, but I got a leg cramp that made me drop out.

MrsDeenz 05-05-2010 01:55 PM

I have an accounting quiz tomorrow (which I'm not concerned about since I got a 95 on my midterm) but I have an macroeconomics midterm tomorrow (my school starts later than everyone elses so while everyone's taking finals - we get midterms... JOY!). My teacher definitely hates his students. I'm lucky if I get a C in his class at this point and I'm studying my butt off. It's just not fair :(

sgregg 05-05-2010 02:29 PM

Danielle...it is not weird to be sad about not getting to take classes in the summer...haha! Especially when you have a goal set and you want to be finished by a certain day. I'm only taking these classes this summer to take some of the load off in the next fall and spring semesters. And speaking of financial aide, I just got approved for some yesterday! I was worried because the classes start in June and they had still not posted anything about how much I was getting. Turns out, it will cover all tuition! Yay! I'm so happy and relieved about that. Oh, and yay about getting the scholarship! That's really really awesome! How old is your son? Mine is 5 and I would love to get him in some extracurricular activities. :)

Jess7286 05-05-2010 04:12 PM

SGregg - I'm still waiting for my financial aid to go through. SO SLOW.

Haley - Your fam, sister and you are in my thoughts. Hope you're doing alright.

Stella - Man, you rocked out the stairmaster like two days after your bike hike? Sheesh. That's impressive. I need to ice my ankle. It's been bugging me :(

MrsDeenz - Good luck with your midterms! Ugh, I'm not excited to be going back to school to take tests again.

Iconised Ghost 05-05-2010 04:23 PM

Hakey- see you round! keeping you all in my thoughts :)

Stella- you are nuts. I still cant get over the 100k xD I do around 6 a day and im like, phew thats enough xD

Everyone with exams- good luck/well done! This is my first year that I'm not technically studying and last year I was doing my MSc so had no exams, and I actually miss that! The study, the fury, the manic doing of practice tests...ah. I am a student at heart

As for me- moving out tomorrow! Today I need to pack up my wardrobe (or my "I dont know where to put this so i'll throw it in here like I have done for the past 15 years" >.<) and my book shelves. Which doesnt sound like a lot but it is going to be horrendous xD And its mother's day on sunday >.< Ahhhhh stress >.<

vertigoskyy 05-05-2010 06:03 PM

sgregg- My son is 5 as well. He loves getting involved in things. It's harder to find for their age group though. He really wants to do boy scouts, but they have to be 7 to do that, so he's patiently waiting.

stellarosa27 05-05-2010 06:26 PM

Jess - I have to get back into it - the massuesse said (and this makes sense) that if your muscles are active and then they're not active, they're react worse.

Icon - oh, honey, good look. And I only managed 50 K :) I'll try the 100 again next year. You're also probably doing your 6K a loooot faster than my 50.

I just did an hour on the stairmaster. Still lowish intensity. To be honest, I'm doing it out of laziness. The new Sookie Stackhouse book came out yesterday, and I can go on the stairmaster and read :) I need to finish this book ....

Jess7286 05-05-2010 07:11 PM

Stella - I've heard that too. Apparently with running, the soreness can go away if you run the next day after a long run and just push through the soreness (not the pain though). Weird how our muscles react to things.

I'm sitting here debating whether to keep icing my ankle or run. I think I'll run tomorrow. I'm just not feeling a long run today.

Chele615 05-05-2010 07:30 PM

I ate dinner and was sitting around and decided that it was just too nice out to stay inside and took a quick jog/walk around my neighborhood. I actually jogged more than I thought I would since usually when I run outside and not on the treadmill, I can only go for a couple minutes before I feel like I'm going to die! But I can go for like 30 minutes straight on the treadmill.

So I jogged more than normal and now my stomach is KILLING me!!!! It feels so weird!

aliquot 05-05-2010 08:26 PM

So. Forever21 sells plus size clothing? Does anyone know how it runs and if they carry it in all stores?

PS - I'm not dead. I am graduating Friday, woo. The boy is here. I ate horribly and managed to lose a couple of pounds over the weekend lol (at least thats what the scale told me this afternoon when I got back to my apartment, I dont trust it yet). WTF body.

Skinnybride 05-05-2010 09:19 PM

Its been one long busy day I feel like i hadnt even got to stop to catch my breath. I have a meeting tomorrow with a groomer about carrying our doggie wears excited about that and i think i finally got everythign together for that but i still will forget something or not have what she wants i'm sure of it.
179 today WOOHOOO!!!! 9 more pounds to a mani and pedi reward I so need one too! We had a steak on the grill for dinner it was so yummy the dh and i always just buy one and split it who needs that much meat right.

ubercast 05-05-2010 09:27 PM

.

I went to Forever21 with a friend the other day, but I didn't see any plus size clothes. I did, however, find a cheap pair of flip flops.

Taylor86 05-05-2010 10:56 PM

Finals are stinky.

Jess7286 05-06-2010 01:48 AM

Hm, I haven't stepped into a Forever21 in awhile so no clue on their plus size section.

My personal win for the day: Ran 6.5 miles in my gorilla feet Vibrams in 1:17:48. **** yeah. The Half in June isn't looking so intimidating any more. Hopefully I can do a 10-miler next week.

JennyG 05-06-2010 06:54 AM

Jess!! Way to go you running rockstar!! Keep up the great work, the you'll kick that 10 miles right in the butt!!! haha. Have a lovely day!

Feral 05-06-2010 08:25 AM

Okay so all the newer people hanging around - WELCOME!!! :) Glad to have you here and please feel free to jump right in.

To those of you finishing up papers and finals - GOOD LUCK! You're so close!!!!

To those of you graduating this weekend - CONGRATS!!!!!

It's been kind of a rough week. I really need to start eating clean for a few days. I had a whole wheat bread/pasta overload and it has sent my body into some kind of sugar/food craving and it's been nasty. So the only way to break it is to cut it out for a little while again.

I'm going to a work shop tonight - I don't even really know how to describe it and if I did you would probably all think I'm crazier than I already am, but that means no gym tonight which also means I get to go the gym on ANOTHER Friday. [Boooooo Hissssss] But at least I'm going and making up for time off.

Yesterday JJ and I got into WW3 and it took a huge toll on me. I think all men are pretty dumb... that's my general consensus as of late.

I'm so ready for FRIDAY!!! Not that I have any huge plans this weekend other than mother's day, but I'm just so tired of work. The end is in sight and I'm at that "I don't really care because I won't be here much longer" phase. It sucks because I really need to buckle down and get some closing of the year stuff done but I have no motivation to do so.

I hope you all have had a great week!!!! I miss you girls, sorry I haven't been around too much this week. I can definitely tell I've been missing your motivation and accountability!!!!

jazzang 05-06-2010 09:17 AM

good morning, happy sace de mayo!! last night was crazy down here in the sd :D but i didnt go too crazy. I've been really good the last couple days, and the scale said 162.0! woo!!!! i'm gonna take it and run with it. i'm getting so close to halfway, yay!

off to work! today is a catch up day. after work all i want to do is go for a run, make dinner, take a couple of naps, watch tv... maybe i'll do a load of laundry.... nah. lol

sgregg 05-06-2010 11:02 AM

Good morning, everyone. Scale was down this morning. :)

jazzang... "happy seis de mayo" HAHAHAHA! That's so funny.

Ferel...I know that feeling you are feeling...when you know you won't be there much longer and you just get to where you don't care. When is your last day?

Jess7286...way to go on your running! Gorilla feet?...are those the shoes with the toes?

Skinnybride...I always split my chicken breasts in half. However, if I was to buy a steak, I think DH would think he needs one all by himself. Haha! What other kind of awards do you give yourself? I need to come up with some.

Chele615...way to go on your jogging!! Did you stomach ever get to feeling better?

As for me...this is my 2nd day back at counting calories...and my first day officially out on school break until things start back up in June. I am relishing the moment..haha! Just took my son to daycare and picked up a few sticks outside. We planted some grass and I got to keep it looking nice. Ha! Now to eat some breakfast and curl up with a good book! :)

camocutie 05-06-2010 11:09 AM

Hi! I thought i would jump in with both feet and say hello! I am 22 soon to be 24. Way to big. and Been married for almost 4 years now.. I am so ready to be happy with myself and and healthy! Best of luck ladies! :carrot:

stellarosa27 05-06-2010 11:34 AM

Hello ladies :)

Today, as every Thursday does, started off AWESOMELY at work. I verbally threw the CFR at someone (Code of Federal Regulations) because they like to do things the "efficient" way and not the "right way." I swear, I want to call the FDA and be like hey, you want to come for a visit and check this guy's office out? kthnxbye!

Other than that things are going well. My scale is stuck at 173, but I didn't do a really exhausting work out last night. Tonight I'll get that in. I also found out that I don't have to take one of my take-home finals, so now I just have a mini-presentation and another take home final (that's due in 2 weeks) and I'm done for the summer. Woo hoo.

MementoxMori 05-06-2010 11:46 AM

I figured I would join both this and the other section since I fall into both lol

I just wanted to say.. that I have the weirdest body ever lol I'm sitting at just over 300, but I can still wear my 18s and 20s in jeans and my 1-2x in shirts. Go figure. And I'm in no way bragging, believe me, I just find it odd and I don't know wth is going on with my body.

But, I'm ready to shed the fluff and get down to where I wanna be. I, for the most part am happy with myself. But I feel I could be happier and healthier, even though I am SO much more healthy than I was.

Happy Thursday, ya'll!

aliquot 05-06-2010 03:36 PM

Woo, 211.5 today. That's more than 1/3 of my way to goal! Also, my sister now says I weigh about 10 pounds less than her, haha.

Samantha417 05-06-2010 04:05 PM

3 finals down, my last one is tomorrow....this week is going by so slowly!!!

I was bad again yesterday...I had strawberry ice cream and some brownies. But fortunately because I ate it, it's gone! my lunch was bad today too so right now I'm over in calories for the day, but I'm heading the gym in a few minutes so I'll be okay! I just can't wait to be home, it'll be a bit better without the stress and boredom. I need to buy some books too! Any suggestions anyone?

Sorry, no personals, but congrats to the losses, good luck with finals and all that stuff, and have a great day!

Chele615 05-06-2010 04:57 PM

sgregg ~ Yeah, my stomach eventually went back to feeling "normal"...or at least normal to me ;) LOL

I went for a walk with my friend today after school in order to pick her daughter up from preschool. I managed to run into 3 of my students in that time. One of them I ran into as I was pretty much walking into my driveway. Awkward! haha

I was supposed to go to a training for today and tomorrow with some fellow teachers, but the assistant principal basically vetoed it and told three of us that we couldn't go because of coverage. So, begrudgingly we agreed to stay back for these two days. This morning, the same assistant principal who told us that we couldn't go asked us why we were in school today because she thought we were going to a training. *slams head against a wall* I seriously cannot wait until the end of the school year!

vertigoskyy 05-06-2010 06:32 PM

Welcome camocutie!

I'm feeling frustrated with not being able to walk or do anything on my one leg. A goal I made right before I hurt myself was to walk 30 miles in May. I don't think that's going to happen. Grrr. I was feeling really good walking about 3 miles a day before this too. Even bought the Sketchers Shape Ups that I loooooove, but only got to wear a week or so.

camocutie 05-06-2010 07:43 PM

@vertigosky. sorry to hear about your injury! i have a knee injury from years ago that likes to pop up and effect me.. and thanks for the welcom

@samantha good luck on your final tomorrow! and what kind of books are you into?

Skinnybride 05-06-2010 08:26 PM

Sgregg- i usually buy chicken breast tenders and eat 2 they are so easy to cook with. Well i probably had less than a half maybe 1/3 and his was 2/3 he too is eating better and has realized he doesnt need as much as he had been eating. My next reward after i reach 170 mani pedi will be a new hairdo and then i have about $100 in kohls gift cards i'm saving for when i;m close to goal for a new wardrobe, i may do something like a spa day too as a reward. rewards keep me working toward something. I havent really bought clothes as i'm moving down i've gotten a few new things from the goodwill and platos closet the goodwill in the larger town has lots of name brands like gap and aero

Jess7286 05-06-2010 10:02 PM

Sgregg - Yeah, the sock type looking things. Vibrams. They're awesome. Some blisters but otherwise not too bad.

Aliquot - NICE! Keep it up :)

Stella - Some people just need to get their heads outta their asses. I hope HR pwns that guy.

Camo - Welcome! Here's to health :)

As for me, I took a nice nap today. Going to head to the gym soon.

Samantha417 05-06-2010 11:37 PM

camocutie: hmm..i can't really put a genre on it. I love fiction though. I'm up for anything!

starmac13 05-06-2010 11:43 PM

hey girls. just popping by.

welcome newbies

jess - i say a guy running in vibrams today and thought of you. i am sure you looked way better in your than he did in his. i think the vibrams were controlling him instead of the other way around. training is officially underway for the half. last week i was sick. now im back

jazz - good luck in the 10K this weekend

stella - i love how people think that their own special way is always right. one girl at work tried her "way" at work on tuesday. She was escorted from the building on wednesday. oh karma

good luck to those still in school. Its almost over (well this year at least)

Its been a crazy week. The scale is still the same (what's new), but i hope to see a change next week. i cant blame anyone but myself. Gave my body some xtra calories. now time to take them away.

camocutie 05-07-2010 01:32 AM

Samantha- thirteen reasons why was really good. its being made into a movie also. i love to read anything V.C Andrews. My Sweet Audrina by her is really good. a bit strange but good.

Feral 05-07-2010 08:06 AM

Good Morning Ladies! HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!

Can you believe we made it? [Yeah, me either]

So the scale says 183 this morning, which it should, because this week has been tough. Although its much better than the 188 it said on Wednesday (remember when I told you my scale was a liar?)

I am the only one medically trained (to admin medications/take care of medical emergencies) in my office this morning. The other 2 are out... so this should be an interesting day especially considering I have to go off campus TWICE today. Lets just hope all **** doesn't break out.

I have to go pick up my mom's mother's day present this afternoon and get to the gym some time before 9...

I am SO looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow.

I hope you all are doing well!!!! <3

stellarosa27 05-07-2010 09:24 AM

Helloooo ladies.

As Feral said, Happy Friday.

I couldn't sleep last night, so I decided to stay up late reading. Now I'm struggling to stay awake, but I had a rather large breakfast so at least I'm not hungry. Hopefully today goes by smoothly, although I probably will have a meeting with HR at some point. Ugh.

I had gym ADD last night - I couldn't get comfortable on one machine, so I did all of them. I just couldn't break a sweat, then finally I was like EFF IT and hopped on the treadmill. I didn't have my running shoes, but I needed to get the energy out so I ran/jogged a mile and finally I was sweating. I guess it paid off b/c my scale said 171.4 this morning :)

sgregg 05-07-2010 12:20 PM

Good morning, everyone!
Scale was down this morning...again! Whoohoo!

So, I'm thinking of making one day a week an off day. No counting, no recording...do you think that's a good idea? or no? I don't plan on stuffing my face with everything in the house, just taking a break from actually paying close attention to every calorie. Just for one day. I'm kinda wishy-washy about it because I don't want to fall back off the boat, but I don't want to get burnt out either. Do any of you do this?

stella: Whatcha readin'? I usually have gym ADD (as you put it...haha) too. I can never just stay on one machine for too long. My feet always go numb though...it sucks. I have to switch it up a bit. However, the last time I went to the gym I did the treadmill for 30 minutes and didn't do anything else. It felt good. :)

Ferel: I love Fridays! :) Sounds like you got a lot of things to do today. I still have not gotten my mother anything for Mother's day. I plan on going to see her Monday and Tuesday, so maybe I'll be fine if I get something before then.

Jess7286: DH wants some of those shoes....I don't know why, he doesn't run. Ha!!

Skinnybride: Those sound like good rewards. I just don't think clothes or spa days are really going to keep me motivated. I even thought about getting my hair done, but there is nothing that I would want done. Haha...I don't know. I am spoiled already. If I want something bad enough, I usually just go ahead and buy it (if I have the money). I never wait to reward myself. I guess that's why I'm having such a hard time trying to think of something to do for myself.

Chele: Are you an elem. or high school teacher? I am studying to be an elementary teacher, but I want to teach upper elem. or high school. When I'm finished I'll have my endorsements in English and Science. However, now I'm scared because of this big teacher lay-off. I just hope I can find work somewhere when it comes time for me to find something.

aliquot: WAY TO GO ON THE WEIGHT LOSS!! :carrot:

MementoxMori: Hello and Welcome! :)

camocutie: WELCOME! :)

stellarosa27 05-07-2010 12:25 PM

Shauna - last night I finished the latest Sookie Stackhouse book, Dead in the Family I think it was called. Now I'm onto a book called "the Amazing Adventures of Dietgirl." I can usually stay on the machines for a long time, my brain just wasn't there.

As for a day where you don't count, I think it could be a good day. On Saturdays and Sundays I usually don't write everything down, but I have a mental list - I loosely keep track, but not down to every single calorie. It works some days, and some days it doesn't :)

I just bought myself a fruit cup from Starbucks to try and cheer me up. Mango is good...

Skinnybride 05-07-2010 02:56 PM

Good afternoon its been a busy week i'm so tired but no rest anytime soon but next thurs i am leaving for the beach for a girls weekend i'm excited. The scale has been very nice to me 178.8 woohoo i love you scaley scale LOL Overlook my sillyness I'm pooped and ready for vaca!
