I've used it for one month now and I love it. It's great not having to remember bcpills. Use an empty tampon applicator to insert it, works like a charm.
  • i HATED it! it seemed awesome and convenient, but ended up killing my sex drive and giving be terrible headaches.

BUT, i have a few friends who loved it, so like everything, it just depends on the person. Good Luck!
  • I used it for a few years and LOVED IT!!!! I went off of it when I lost my health insurance but I haven't started on it again yet (got insurance back almost 2 years ago). I honestly don't think I could ever take the pill again! The ring is just too easy.
  • I've used it before...I used it for about a year when I was married and it made me crazy and mean. My ex and I fought all the time and the smallest thing would set me off. My mom even told me I was just being flat out mean. So I stopped taking it..and everything was fine again.

I took it again after my divorce and had no problems..of course I wasn't living with anyone other than my kids.
I did love the convenience of it!

Now I have the Mirena and I love it...it's the best thing I've used.
  • i never used it but i probably wont.
my sister in law told me about her friend who was using it and she had sex and when she woke up in the morning she found it on the floor.

that doesnt sound any % effective to me.
  • I've used it twice. You're not supposed to feel it once it's in. The first time I used it, it was great! Side-effects only lasted a couple of weeks and then everything was all good. The second time (last year was horrible). I turned into a raging witch, felt like harming myself (and others) and I had TOM for 14 days straight. Don't know what the difference was. Oh yeah, and I gained weight. But I've since come to the conclusion that my body doesn't do well with synthetic hormones.
  • It killed my sex drive too, cause some slower weight loss, and has an increased rate of blood clots than pills. I went back to low estrogen pills. It was too risky for me.
  • I am not on it at the moment (TTC), but I was on it for 3 years and LOVED it. You can't feel it and it's a very low dose of hormones, which is nice for people who don't want a high hormone pill.

If you are sexually active it is a VERY good idea to check to make sure it's still in after any activities.
