  • I don't know if I would wear a bikini ever when I'm healthy and non-jiggly. I would feel kind of exposed, I think my dad would have a cow-and I would too. Haha...but I think in the future when I'm older. It's not fare. Why do girls have to be exposed? What I mean is why can't we wear without someone looking at you in a sexual way(not all guys-but come on sex is everywere and in most guys minds now), most girls don't look at guys in a bathing suit that way(well I guess a lot do) but you can't see every crevise of them, it's not like thier junk is hanging out. Ours is. Sorry, I get angry about sexist piglets.
  • Ahh girls dont have to be exposed, theres nothing saying "thow shalt go to the beach wearing as little as possible, or thow shalt not go at all"
  • Of course I'd LIKE to, but: 1) not sure i'd feel comfortable being around so many people with just a bikini on.. 2) i'd have to feel 10000% comfortable in it..

it's more likely that i'll wear one with one of those pretty cover ups! even if i end up wearing a one piece, i'm just looking forward to SWIMMING this summer!!
  • FOR SURE!
I have tons of bikinis & wear them every year, but this is my 1st year to be over 120 pounds. Well, other than last year in which I stayed inside ALL the time & didn't care about anything. This year I will be in the 120's-130's again & have BIG plans this summer!! We are going on our 1st cruise to Belize & Mexico & all I want to do is soak up some sun!!

I know, I know. What I am trying to say is why can't we be free to wear a bikini with everyone thinking nothing of it. Does that make more sense?
  • Snow Wolf - I think we honestly put more emphasis on ourselves than other do - meaning we care more about what we look like than the people at the blanket to the left of us. Its all about being comfortable. As I said, I wore one at 223 lbs, I didn't care what other people thought/said and I doubt they even noticed - all that I cared about was that *I* was comfortable in it. I think, when it comes to swimsuits, a lot of it may be in our head - we're self-conscious so we think that everyone is staring at us judging, when in reality, they probably think the same thing about us.

Of course, this is my very optimistic viewpoint, but I'm sticking with it. Wear what makes you happy!

Yeah that makes sense. Its a shame that we do put so much thought and worry into something so small I guess. But I have spoken with a few guys and in some ways I think they have it a bit worse, since its so standard just to wear shorts to the beach rather than a t-shirt, so if they are a bit self conscious they dont have a lot of sort of socially acceptable options. Society is annoying

I agree with you on that. I just see a lot of judging-I guess becuase I have to be around people in my age group. I go to a rich, overall very narcistic high school. I'm just tired of being around these types of people. My issue is I'm very aware of other peoples thoughts, even if I don't want to be.

Yeah, dang it-well we are all trying to change that at least! It does go both ways, for boys and girls. I do kinda think that girls judge guys in a less-harsh way, I don't think we care to much what they look like at the beach. But I agree with you.
  • I think maybe girls are just less likely to make jokes about how guys look in swim wear than guys do. I've seen guys snickering about it a couple of times (mostly high school age guys, hopefully they grow out of it), but I've never seen a bunch of girls doing that. Maybe I just dont get out enough though xD
  • I went to an all girls highschool, the only taboo we had was commenting on other girls' weight. You just never did it. For as catty as we were, it was actually pretty mature of us, so that's what I'm used to.

    College was different though. B*tches.
  • I went to an all girls school, there were no taboos
  • I would love to feel comfortable enough to wear a bikini. I am promising myself to be in one next summer.
  • Well hmm..if I get down to a nice size..i don't wanna put a number there..because it just depends..i probably would wear one.

    However, I love these swimsuits:

I love the model's confidence...i think it's the best of both worlds to say...kinda bikini kinda not.
  • I will wear a bikini too! I wore one last year, and the year before that. I always bring a shirt to the beach with me if i get too self conscience. I hope this year i will feel more comfortable than last year, I am already 10 pounds lighter...

As for stretch marks, EVERYBODY has them! Don't let them get in your way of wearing a bikini!
