Default Tips to keep your mind off food???

Hi everyone.

Whenever I get tempted by my skinny roommate's doughnuts and cookies I come and read everyone's advice and tips. Its so interesting/motivating I forget that I was craving sugar and go do something active.
What does everyone else do to take their minds off hunger?

I've been coming to this site on and off for a year and a half now. I've never started my own thread before, but I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who shares their experiences. Congratulations to everyone succeeding and keep it up to all those who just started... especially to anyone who has just started over. I feel your pain.

I read the blogs. I can always find something educational and/or entertaining.

It can be really difficult to keep my mind off of food. So I try to use the whole 'out of sight out of mind' thing. I'll turn so my back is to the food and distract myself with music or work. Chewing gum also helps, as does drinking a whole lot of water. Occasionally I really am hungry when I'm being tempted, but instead of indulging in something 'naughty' I'll crunch on some Kashi crackers or a piece of fruit.

In a perfect world we wouldn't be tempted at all!

Congrats on your loss so far!!!

I chew gum, but if I'm actually hungry, I try and eat something. I'm known to graze throughout the day.

I'm totally a grazer. If I don't have a snack every 2 hours or so I get really crabby. Been that way my whole life. I try to eat fruit when I'm hungry or a piece of low fat cheese or something. Or non-fat yogurt. I'm rather obsessed with yogurt, especially greek yogurt.

I chew gum and usually search weight loss related articles and such online...time seems to fly.
