Default OT - Fashion Advice Needed!

Okay, I need some serious fashion help here!!! I know you ladies shop - maybe you can help out a poor farm girl who never learned how to put together a decent outfit!

So, I'm job searching and I might have an interview coming up for my absolute dream job - it's a Marketing Coordinator position for a not-for-profit health insurance company I used to temp for. I want to show up looking classy, trendy and put together - but the problem is that I don't know how to look like any of those things!

I'm 5' 8" before heels, a serious pear shape and my torso is pretty short. I don't necessarily want to go plain, boring suit - marketing is supposed to be trendy, right? - but I don't want to be under-dressed either.

Can anyone recommend a look? Or does anyone have any pictures of what might work? Seriously - any help will be MUCH appreciated!

You don't necessarily have to wear a suit. You can wear black pants or a skirt with a colored blouse. If it's cold you might consider a patterned suit jacket, but not one that necessarily made to go with the pants. If you are unsure about it, just ask one of the ladies in the stores that you shop. I usually buy my work clothes from Ann Taylor. I know it can be expensive, but they have sales pretty often and the ladies that work there are always very helpful.

I think gray slacks are very fresh, classy and versatile. If you are a pear shape, a higher waste with a loose fit in the leg would be very flattering with the right blouse.

You could pair it with something with a little flair (but not too much).

EDIT: when I was broke and job hunting, I got these from Target and they are sooo flattering (I have wide hips).

I had those same grey slacks from target that junebug posted....I LOVED them....and that shirt she also posted is a great one. Target is a great place to find some nice clothes for pretty cheap. =D

The nicest pair of pants that I own I got from Banana republic. They're a wide-legged, dark grey trouser. They're super comfy and really professional looking. I think if you had slacks like that, or any dark grey slacks, you could pair it with a colorful blouse and be ok. The key is to accessorize. Have some bracelets, and maybe some pretty ears. if you have big ears, or just a lot going on with the top, wear your hair up.
something this shape http://bananarepublic.gap.com/browse...d=1&pid=739936
with pants like this http://bananarepublic.gap.com/browse...scid=702760002
(the wide waist band controls tummy. I love it)
and a blazer like this http://bananarepublic.gap.com/browse...scid=702700002 would be great.

ignore the colors, and just look at the shapes, to get an idea. I'm not real sure how clothes fall on a pair shaped body, so just use this as a general idea of where to start.
