skin question.

  • hey ladies,

Ok, a question out of curiosity. A lot of my extra weight seems to be in my thighs. Thunder thighs is indeed what I have... lol.

Anyways I was wondering if when i loose the extra weight if that will leave my skin in the areas that were large sagging? Or if there is anything that I can do to ensure that my skin will be shrinking as well? Creams? toning exc.
Has anyone experienced this? I kind of think that skin at age 23 should be able to bounce back.
    Thoughts?
  • Hi Brittleigh, I see you've just joined, welcome & good luck on your journey
I don't know much about skin, I just moisturize and keep my fingers crossed. Your best bet is probably to check out the maintainers forum, there's a whole section there just about skin after weightloss.
  • Welcome and happy new year!

Sorry, I don't know much about skin either, but I'm sure being young will prevent yours from sagging. Plus, you don't have hundreds of pounds to lose either, which will help your skin to shrink in when your body does

I too put lotion on and cross my fingers Lotion and something called Bio Oil to help my poor stretch marks to fade.
  • I was wondering that, too. Some of my skin on my belly from when I was pregnant is a big droopy. I think it all depends on the elasticity of your skin, and age as well. All the women in my family have ended up having destroyed midsections after pregnancy, from my fit cheerleader cousin to my anorexic aunt to me. I know there's nothing I can do that will ever make that look good. My skin also just sort of feels sort of flexible to touch and I'm jiggly in general. I have friends who weigh more than I do who are solid as a rock because they have perfect, beautiful elasticity in their skin. So I think it's just largely a genetic issue.
  • There's a whole lot of factors that come into play- elasticity, genetics, age, starting weights, etc... My guess is that since you are young with under 40 pounds to lose it may not be as big of a problem as you think. The only thing I can recommend is to continue to exercise and drink plenty of water.
