Ghost - I either buy just the egg substitute or use the eggs for recipes/baking.
Feral- That website was new to me and I am LOVING it!! Chele- That's exactly what I do! I need the TV to keep me distracted but I like to run on intervals so when the treadmill speeds up I usually put on a fast paced song and just try to 'run to the beat' I can only imagine what I look like doing it but since I've been doing it I have alot more fun when I'm working out. Mojo - I will def have to try that recipe... I've been longing for some pumpking 'something' ever since I found out my favorite pumpkin coffee was over 200 calories I had to quit cold turkey! I had an alright night last night.. I stuck to my eating plan, which I was really proud of but I didn't get home until 9:30 and I had no time to exercise. I hopped on the treadmill and walked/ran for 15 minutes but that was it. I try to be really strict about getting to bed on time because if I'm not it messes up my entire next day. I did have the sense last night to put some carrots in a baggie to bring to work with my lunch, that way if I have the urge to snack again I have something with me. |
Hey ladiesjust checking into say hi now that I am starting to feel a little better. Closing in onthe end of my first trimester and definitely glad for that. Sounds like everyone is doing great and I'm jealous of the delicious food everyone ismaking!!
I have been craving pumpkin flavored coffee....but alas no coffee forme:( Love you all MUAH |
Morning Girls. The stuffed peppers were yummy. I am not much of a cook, but I do know how to follow directions. The problems I seem to be having with some of these recipes is that they are kind of bland, taste wise. I mean they're good, but they could pack a lil more OOMPH if that makes sense. I added a little more salt and some hot sauce to them last night and that made a huge difference, but I just don't know how to "experiment" with my cooking. My mom isn't really much of a cook so unfortunately... even though she can suggest some things, I don't have the gift of having that passed down to me.
I was super tired yesterday so I didn't work out, but promised myself I would today. Plus, I have enough left overs for dinner (and lunch) so I don't have the excuse of cooking to keep me from doing so. I go to the chiro today. YAYYY! I love my chiropractor, he has magic hands. I got my shirts from Threadless in the mail yesterday. I hate girlie tees because they always seem like they're so small... even the largest. I'm convinced they keep shrinking clothing sizes down. I tried it on and while it is WAY too tight, I was surprised that it wasnt quite as tight as I figured it would be. The plan is to be able to fit into it comfortably by Christmas. That should put me at about 20 lbs lighter if I continue on my 2 lbs a week. That will be right at the beginning of the year. :) We'll see I guess. I should take pics wearing one today and then one Jan 1st. I stepped on the scale this morning and was at 202. I think I was still retaining some water as my fingers were a little swollen from the salt I added to my meal last night, but I'm taking that as my official weigh for the week... TAKE THAT SCALE! LOL Hope everyone is having a great day! |
Feral - as far as flavor experimentation goes, spices are awesome. I'm always cooking with herbs d'provence, basil, parsley, rosemary, etc. I think maybe a little bit of worcestershire sauce probably would have added a nice flavor to your peppers, especially with the hot sauce in there mmmmm! It's 5cals per teaspoon. Once you start to get the hang of what tastes good with what and what extras compliment what you're making, experimentation is really fun :D (my dad was a cook and taught me how, as are my grandparents, annnd my boyfriend goes to culinary school hahaha)
Ugh, so how about this - I did 3 miles AND 40 minutes of Jillian yesterday for a 633 cal-burned workout. Then I hit like 10 cals over after dinner for my count for the day so I stopped eating. Then the Phillies game got stressful and my mom had a bowl of Chick Fil A french fries sitting right next to me :< I couldn't help myself, I had some. And then I had a pretzel. Apparently it was enough to reverse my workout because I'm back up a half of a pound to 193 today :C Maybe I'm "lucky" and the salt my mom poured on them (UGH MOM JUST PUT PEPPER ON THEM!!!) is making me retain water... maybe... But I did lose 0.5in on my waist, so I suppose that's the bright side. And I figured out a healthier way to make my Quakers oatmeal (the big box from costco) be less calories :D I took 2 of the original packets (100cals each) and added 2.5 teaspoons of brown sugar and a teaspoon of honey - 300 calories and it's DELICIOUS. I mean, really, it's definitely better than the sugar-carb-sodium packed maple & brown sugar and cinnamon roll packets! Sooo I feel a little better now. I'm hoping to get in 3 miles and another long Jillian workout (or just another long workout in general) in and I'm aiming for 1400 calories today instead of 1500 and hooooping that I'm retaining 0.5lb of water weight. |
Hi girlies :)

193.0 - and the downward roller coaster begins.
I also now have internet and cable at my apartment after a brou-haha with comcast. I'm supposed to have a key to my complex's fitness center, except I've yet to receive it, so I called up the leasing office today and the woman was like oh, we don't have any more, do you want one made YES I DO WOMAN. Ugh. I have school tonight, then I'm going back up to the house to clean my room/bathroom and hopefully I can set up my Wii and get some darn exercise in. This is killing me. |
Stella - hang in there! I know that's all really stressful :< When we first moved to our new house some guy came in and told us our contractors filed one piece of paper incorrectly so therefore we could not live in our house. We spent a week in a hotel :< I'm at 193 today too.. -sigh- I WAS at 191 on Sunday >:C

Mary -- good call on the worcestershire. Didn't even think about that. You may be my new cooking guru. LOL
Luv- How are you? You still hangin' in there? I know work and quitting smoking has been rough. Stella - POSITIVE attitude is the key girl!!!! You can do this and you're almost done. Keep your chin up and keep checkingin with us! BTW- I put my mom in charge of blackbean brownies today. I will let you know how they turn out. I found the recipe on that website yesterday. It's like the diet soda recipe except you use blackbeans and puree them with water and add it to the brownie mix. |
Soooo... I had a sugar attack and am an idiot and forgot to pack my caramel rice cakes. I did have ONE twix mini hidden in my desk drawer. So after ho-humming about it briefly I decided what the heck. It's just one...
Uhhhhh 3 FREAKING POINTS FOR ONE TWIX MINI. Grrrrr. Never again. |
i always keep the yolks, intending to cook with them, and they just end up going off in the fridge and then i have to deal with their disposal. Eeew.
I will will will stay on plan today. I've started trying spark people (its so much more complicated than TDP, but i love graphs dammit!) so maybe this will be motivation? |
AH so much food talk I'm glade that I just had lunch. I made banana muffins the other day, they were good, only 160 calories each. I think there was 18 total but my roommates ate the fast majority in the first 24 hours. I had like 3 before they were gone. It's interesting having roommate I share food with because they both consume way more then I do so any time I make anything it disappears quickly (I also do the majority of the cooking.) I can't decide if I'm annoyed of happy about this. Sometimes it would be nice to have food last more then a day but then the temptation is gone quickly when I cook things like muffins or cookies. One of my friends asked if I was cooking them thin (because they both say they want to lose weight) and I chuckled because despite the fact the food that is cooked is not bad, they add cheese and butter to everything, and they eat supersized portioned.
Other then that I dragged my but to the gym today, I really didn't want to go (I've been in a funk) but once I was there I enjoyed it. Somedays its just getting motivated to get there. |
You know how I know I'm out of shape? Cause the first day of C25K kicked my butt! But I did it... and when I really wanted to say eff this half way through... I thought of you guys. :) Thank you!
|
Yay Feral! I'm still not brave enough to try C25k lol
|
Hi everyone!
Those pumpkins muffins sound awesome. Ingredients are definitely going on my shopping list. I love all the great recipe/food ideas you all are giving me. Thanks! And that website looks good too. My legs are sore from my 10 or 11 mile walk yesterday. But not as bad as I thought they'd be. Didn't record my calories today until after supper - and disappointed to find out I'm almost 200 over for the day. Usually I try to track as I go, but today was super busy in clinic, so didn't get a chance. Oh well. 200 calories over isn't perfect, but it's not the end of the world either. Have to be extra diligent tomorrow. Have a great night! |
April - don't worry about going over, your mileage from the day before is super amazing! Great job :D
I'm excited because I finally tracked the route that I walk with my dog through my neighborhood and it IS 2 miles!! I've been logging it as one, so my monthly count just got like 5 miles added on :D Have a good night ladies, I'm off to do some classwork I've been putting off all day eeek! |
