I do both cardio and weights/strength training.

I run 4 - 6 times a week usually around 5 - 8 miles, sometimes more. I do a spin class 3 - 4 times a week and I have dragonboat training 3 times a week.

I do weights 3 times a week.

What I have found is the weights compliment and improve my cardio work as through conditioning my muscles they can work more efficiently and for longer.

Mind you, paddling in itself is more like a strength workout some sessions!

Cardio is all well and good - I LOVE it - but its only one half of my equation.
