I chose 130 because I felt that was a healthy weight for my height, but without being too thin. I remember feeling BETTER at 143, but at that weight I still wasn't happy with myself. I think 130 would be really good.... but heck, 135 would be awesome too.

I set my goal weight based on a weight that I was before and liked myself at that weight. I think once I reach my final goal I will determine if I want to lose additional weight

AngelaNicole - Thank you for encouragement!

Amyleigh - You can lose the weight after you have kids!

Mandalinn - I know what you mean - I have thought I have a large ribcage. Now it's buried and I can't remember- lol.

I was down to 175 once and I felt like I could lose more. I have three sisters. I never thought they were fat, but they all lost weight and look great - so I am trying to use them as a gauge - which others have done, too. Two are shorter than me and one is very petite.

I think I will end up re-evaluating around 165 and seeing if what I really need is just to tone-up, not slim down.

I am fine with my number for now. I was just interested to see what other people were thinking about when they made the decision.

I chose 161 because when I look back to pictures where I thought I was thin, I weighed 167 (the lowest in my short life). But, because I started at 201 it was an even 60pounds to lose. I am mathematically inclined, so I like numbers that (for lack of better words) look good. I know it's at the high range of BMI for my height, but I build a lot of muscle without meaning to... So I thought I should aim a little high. Once I get there, we'll see how I feel and look and take it from there. I can always adjust.

I feel a little ridiculous for having absolutely no science to mine. I just picked it and figured as long as I can get there, I can decide if I need to lose more at that point. I mean, it's losing 52 pounds and that doesn't sound too intimidating to me.

The lowest number I ever remember seeing in my adult life was 160 (after I had my son and lost 100 lbs). I gained 97 lbs when I was pregnant with my daughter so I want to lose 100 lbs again and one up my 160 with 157. It's silly really! I hovered around the 180's my entire HS/teenage life so anything below that makes me happy .

I bounce around with the "goal" weight. But not terribly focused on it since it's a ways away. I started with 150 in mind, then moved it up to 160 and now my trainer has stated that he thinks I will be perfect at 180-185. I do quite a bit of lifting and really notice a nice shape appearing but still trapped under fat. I actually ran into a lady at the gym recently who is my height and what I think my body type is and she weighed 185. We'll see.
