  • My dog went to the groomer today, and I skipped the gym to pick him up (I always want him back right away) and because it was raining and the traffic was bad.

I told myself I would go to the gym later, but I knew I was lying. Thing is, yesterday was my "off" day, so I really needed to go. But... I got bored, and the dog was ignoring me (being at the groomer all day makes him tired) so I went anyway!

I'm kind of pleased with myself, since I don't like to go to the gym after I've been home for awhile. And I'm on track for another loss this week, which is even better
  • I've been on vacation since last Friday and don't have a scale here, but I can tell you all that when I do get back on Saturday or Sunday, it's not going to be pretty. Dessert and beer most nights, oh lord.

The good thing is that I'm not binging though, and I'm being pretty reasonable during the day, so it won't be as bad as it could be.
  • ruby - sometimes you just need a beer and dessert phase...you'll be back at it in no time, and probably see a big loss, as sometimes the body needs those extra calories to shock the system!

Aurora - WTG on hitting up the gym on your off day!

    i saw a loss this morning - 154.6lb, FINALLY under 155! 140s, here i come!
  • 158.2 this morning! we're getting there!!
  • Aurora:
Kudos on going anyhow, even tho you weren't feeling it! That's inspiring will power right there.

    Ruby:
If you're being pretty reasonable during the day, chances are it won't be quite as bad as you think! My beer-infested weekends haven't been killing me quite as much as I've been expecting them to, so maybe you'll be pleasantly surprised as well.

    Skinny:
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just a few more honey!!!

    kk140:
!!! Yay!! Isn't that down from 159, or 159.something??? Way to go!! Gotta love seeing that scale moving in the right direction, eh?
  • down from 159.4!
lol i love that you say eh! (i'm canadian too!)
  • kk140:
Hahahaha, yeah, I'm sorry, saying "eh" is one of those things that I just will not argue with people about. It's not just a stereotype. I totally do say it all the time. We don't say "aboot" tho, we just don't say "ab-ow-t!"

Are you from Ontario by any chance?

And, CONGRATS on being down! Man, look at your mini goals! You're gonna hit your GOAL before your Halloween mini goal!!!
  • there is totally nothing wrong with saying eh...i agree, it's not a stereotype, totally true and proud of it, eh?

i just went for my 4km run (more canadian-ism) in 30 degree temp (more canadian) i'm sure that's not hot for some of you southerners, but for an alberta girl like myself, sweltering! needless to say, the run kicked my ***, but i did it!

oh, and i bought size 10 shorts at ricki's today! down from a 12...woot!
  • After a visit to my parents house (and some bad food choices), I'm at 158.2 (up from 157.8). Could be worse. I really feel like I need to get serious!! It's so funny b/c it feels SO HARD, but it's all in my control.
  • 156.8 this morning. My family is visiting and so far I've made good food choices, so I'm happy. My sister greeted me at the airport with "You look emaciated!" LOL.
  • 156.5.... I was hoping to be down to 156, since TOM starts next week, but I'll take it. I'm going to try Midol to see if it really reduces the bloat. Can't wait to be in the lower 150s!!!

Canadians should say eh. It helps we Americans to recognize you I also enjoy when the Scots say "em."

It's storming outside and my puppydog is NOT HAPPY. Plus it means my running buddy and I will have to cancel our long run. Le sigh. Off to the gym with me!
  • I think I'm stalled. 150.4 granted, its .4 less than it was, it still stinks...being so close to getting out of the 150's is like having to sneeze. And then you cant and your nose is left all stuffy and runny.

Looks like its going to rain for me too. on the plus side, i have the whole weekend off. yay me!

ahope2277: i know exactly how you feel. i keep telling myself that no one is twisting my arm and forcing me to eat crap (when i do). my only salvation is watching my weight go down. (which its not right now....) that and low cal. stuff like 10 calorie jello.
  • Skinny:
Bah, the thing about Canada is that we get hot AND sensationally humid... 30 degrees plus the humidex is just... disgusting. I hate going for runs in that kinda weather.
And congrats on being in a size 10! That's super exciting!!!

    ahope:
Yeah, sometimes it seems so trivial. Control what you eat, get in some exercise, and ta-haa... you're done.
But other times... god, it just seems impossible, doesn't it?

    civakas:
Hahaha, I think anyone looks emaciated if you have a picture of them in your head 30 lbs heavier! I'm sure you look fabulous!

    Aurora:
Ick, TOM blows. Pound a ton of water as well, hopefully that'll help.

    Lauren:
Hey, 150.4, that's where I stalled, heehee. How long have you been there?
If you're there for more than a week, and you're being really PERFECT, eating-wise, I'd try a calorie shock to your system. Only if you've been being perfectly on-plan. If you haven't, a binge day might be counter-productive.
But if you've been eating well and such, and your body is just not moving, having a day where you eat a few junky things and up your calorie intake by a good amount, to sort of... kick your metabolism into gear can be really effective. It got me outta my plateau.
Warning tho, depending upon what you eat, you may retain some sodium bloat for a couple of days. I know I did, lol. But when that was over and done with, and after being perfect for another couple days, I was down to 149!
  • Whoa. After a week of vacation, during which time I ate tons of s'mores, pizza, ice cream, and a variety of other unhealthy things (mmm cheesecake), and drank a bunch of beer most nights, I got back last night and weighed in this morning at . . .

    153.7. I only gained .2 lbs. I'm ecstatic!
  • Ruby:
    Yay!!!!
I feel like all of us keep expecting our weights to shoot back up to wherever they were back when we used to eat garbage a little more consistently every time we have really "bad" food nights... it's amazing to see our bodies and metabolisms adjusting...!
Congrats on the teensy infinitesimal, minuscule gain!
