I absolutely 100% agree with this! In my experiences, weight
definitely comes off much more quickly when you have more to lose! In the days where I was first losing, I could lose as much as 8 lbs in one week and think nothing of it--now, I'd consider myself lucky if I were able to lose that amount in a
month, heh! Even just going by the dates that I reached my mini-goals, you can see that each 20-lb increment took juuust a little bit longer than the last one, especially the most recent one, which seemed to take
forever... And it makes sense, because those 20 lbs had a
huge effect on my body--like I said earlier, I lost my first 40 lbs(/met my first 2 mini-goals) without anyone even noticing, but the change from 183 lbs to 163 lbs was waaay more drastic! So it's almost like the rate at which your body changes stays pretty constant, but the actual amount of weight you lose slows down because as you get smaller, it takes less weight to make a difference. (I hope I'm making sense here, haha.)
I always thought it was crazy when I'd hear women talking about wanting/needing to lose 2-3 lbs cuz I was like,
Either you need to lose a *significant* amount of weight, or you don't need to lose weight at all--what the crap kind of a difference is 3 lbs going to make??
But now I totally see what they meant. Those seemingly itty-bitty amounts really CAN make a huge difference!
