Default Hi There

Can I join yall? I figured I'd introduce myself. My name is Sara, I'm 22 (23 in June!!) and I live in Florida. I found yall by googling weight lose forum so yay! I am currently trying to lose weight because I realized after seeing a REALLY bad picture of myself I need to change. I'm young.. I should be able to wear cute clothes and look cute, instead idk.. I feel blah so I need a change. I started the day after Easter and gave up soda about a week ago and when I weighed myself I was down two pounds (THis includes weight watches though..) so that's kind of exciting. I'm at 227 right now (I was 230 so yay me) and I want to go down to at least 200 by my 23rd birthday the 18th in June... even if I don't get down to 200 ten pounds would be nice as well. I really want to get down to 150 so I have a while to go but this time I am determined.

I think my issue is I don't have much support. I live with guys. My dad is overweight, so is my grandfather and my brother (Though not as much) so like its hard being the only girl a) and b) having people eat unhealthy food around you. I'm pretty sure I am going to plan meals, even if it means eating left overs, just things that are healthier and better for me. Anyways I hope to get to know you all

Sara

Welcome!

That last thing you said about planning -- I've found that to be key, especially when there's more than one person in the house and you may not all eat the same things the same ways.

And I've actually just discovered how useful leftovers are myself. The past two days I used some rice and chicken left over from two dinners and that's been great for lunch.

Good luck!

Welcome Sara! So you've made the first step in recogonizing the things that may keep you from getting to your goals, and that is awesome! Next, you definitely need a plan to figure out how you are going to work around it, who knows when you start to drop inches, the boys around you might even join in! You will definitely find a bunch of support here, stick around, we'll be here with you all the way!

Welcome! We're the same age and about the same weight, so I hear ya!

The nice part about being the only girl is: You have the power. You don't have to kick your mom out of the kitchen: You can easily take over the cooking and grocery shopping (just have your dad write you a check or give you his card). You don't buy the junk, it won't be there to tempt you. You cook healthy foods for the group and make it clear that anyone who doesn't like it, can make their own dinner. It puts more work on you, but I know you'll reap the benefits.
