Holy crap HWGA! That is amazing! I lost 12 pounds in ten days that last time I did the cleanse.

I use the WW pedometer that tracks my points so that I get to eat extra. But since I am still dealing with my knee injury and breast surgery, I can't exercise either end of my body. :)

HWGA~ That’s Awesome!

Today’s Question~ Do you strength train or just do cardio? Why?

Currently I just do cardio as I can’t afford a gym membership to lift weights, etc. I used to lift competitively though, so I LOVE lifting and hope to be able to afford a membership soon. Plus, I know it’s a myth that women get bulky when they lift, they actually get leaner and more defined, which is something I also really want to work on.

Saturday & Sunday Question~ How much weight have you lost and how much weight would you like to lose?

I have lost almost 17 pounds, and have 96 more to go.

Nothing spectacular yesterday. I had way too much energy all afternoon so I literally ran around during both track and basketball practice. I think my athletes might think I’m a little crazy now… but that is partially true…

I don’t know if I’ll get to a computer before Monday, so have a great weekend everyone!!!

Saturday & Sunday Question~ How much weight have you lost and how much weight would you like to lose?
About 30 pounds! 10 to go! ive only DREAMED of losing just 20! lol

Saturday & Sunday Question~ How much weight have you lost and how much weight would you like to lose? I have lost 36 pounds and I have roughly 80 pounds or so. I'm not sure what I want my goal weight to be. I already look thinner than what I weigh. I'm the same size as people that are 50 pounds lighter than me.

Today’s Question~ Do you strength train or just do cardio? Why?
I work out for an hour with a personal trainer doing heavy strength training 3 times a week. I also do 3 days of cardio at least an hour each.

I woke up this morning day 4 of the cleanse and I'm at 269! I'm so excited!!!! I'm going to fast walk today. I'm also going to run on Sunday, I want to be in the 260's for my weigh in on Monday!

jahjah1223 03-20-2009 03:30 PM

my butt still hurts from running yesterday lol .. now i know why people wear tights while running!

Here we go again 03-20-2009 06:13 PM

jah- that's funny! I've never worn tights while running. Have you?

So I'm so proud of myself!!! I ran for 10 min and walked for 20 minutes. That's not bad for 4 days with no food. Then I made a bold move. I went grocery shopping b/c I know I don't have any food. So I was strong and didn't give into temptation.

jahjah1223 03-20-2009 07:48 PM

I ate pizza today! :::shakes head:::

jah~ hahahahaha  how does your butt feel now?

HWGA~ Great job running and holding off temptation!

Today's Question~ What/who is your inspiration to lose weight?

I have a lot of different ones... My main one is that I have to have knee surgery this summer and the recovery will be much quicker the light I am. My health is of course a huge pusher as I have felt so much better since I started watching what I eat and exercising. I don't wheeze anymore or get short of breath going up a flight of stairs.

This weekend wasn't great as it wasn't long enough and I feel like I focused way too much on food during parts of it. I'm psyched that the work week is here (weird I know) because I know I'll get back on track.

Where is everyone??? Post, let us all know how you're doing!!!

Reminder~ Post your weights ASAP!!!

tigarlily1 03-23-2009 10:47 AM

Oh my I'm way behind...

Today’s Question~ Do you strength train or just do cardio? Why?

I do both... although I enjoy cardio more and do more of that overall.

Saturday & Sunday Question~ How much weight have you lost and how much weight would you like to lose?

My highest, highest weight was 189 then I joined weight watchers and lost 40lbs.... after that I gained back about 15lbs and started losing weight again this time at 165 lbs. Since Jan. I have lost 10lbs. My first goal is 148.5 which is 10% of my body weight and after that 145 is the weight my doctor recommends for me. If things are still going well I hope to get into the 130's and possibly even 125 as a stretch goal. So that leaves me at the most 30 more lbs to lose.

Today's Question~ What/who is your inspiration to lose weight?

Mostly just to be healthy. Also to look hot in a bikini and feel energetic and good about myself. No one person is my inspiration... maybe my father because he had diabetes and other health issues because of weight.

PS I also drink Diet Pepsi... I try to limit to one can a day.

Here we go again 03-23-2009 07:02 PM

So I am thinking of running/ walking a 5k race on this Sunday. I'm a little nervous. I don't know if I should do it. My trainer thinks I should and I'm a little nervous to try it. I know I won't be the last one but still, it's kinda scary. I'm sure I'll be the biggest one there.

I've been running 2.2 miles pretty well. Has anyone done 5k? Jah, I know you have.... thoughts?

tigarlily1 03-23-2009 09:43 PM

I ran my first 5k after training for 10 weeks... two summers ago. It's really exciting!

At that time I was not able to run the entire 3.2 miles and would run as far as I could then walk to catch my breath. I finished in 434th with 36:53 minutes. I was not the last to finish but there was bnly eleven people behind me. My second race that same summer (after 10 more weeks of training) I finished in 33:57 in 301st place. I think its a good experience you should go for it!

tigarlily1 03-24-2009 08:18 AM

Morning everyone! I feel like crap today... I got on the scale this morning and it said that I am 5 pounds up from Friday. FIVE POUNDS!?!? ugh... I'm disgusted in myself. Ashamed and angry and low. I know I did bad this weekend. I was stressed and went out to eat a couple times and drank alcohol. But I tried to make good choices when I did it. I really do not think that I ate 15000 calories over my limit. That's what I would have needed to do to gain 5 lbs. Yet there it is on the scale.

I usually have a very positive outlook on weightloss. But this morning I told my boyfriend that if I knew I was gonna gain 5 lbs I woulda had more fun and I might as well quit now. Gaining this much weight is like undoing 6 weeks of work in 3 days and it feels horrible. It feel like what's the point.

I really don't want to quit tho. I got right back on track yesterday after the weekend... focusing on drinking all my water and eating in my calorie range. This morning I got up and went to the gym. I'll be there again tomorrow and Thursday morning as well. I'm hoping hoping hoping that this is just water weight or being backed up or something! Either way I've learned my lesson. I've gotta get those weekends under control. You ladies and this challenge was the first thing I thought/worried about when I saw that number. Like OH NO! I'm gonna blow it for them. Well, thanks for listening to me. I better get going to work.

taragettingthin 03-24-2009 09:08 AM

Just a quick jump in. No time to post anything
My DD is sick... kids at the daycare have been sick and I guess some parents sent them to daycare although they were coughing and had some fever!
She stayed home last night with my bf so I didn't have to miss work. I got home at 530 this morning from work and I had to get up at 730...
I don't know if I will be able to do any workout today at all...since I will be taking a nap when she does.
I'm taking her to doc's at 11... Will try to get back on later.

HWGA~ I agree with tigarlily1. I ran a 5K last year and fell in love with it. Unfortunately I let my life get in the way and didn’t get to pursue more races. I’m training right now for a charitable 5K I do every May. It’s a great way to open up options for new mini goals that will only help with weight loss. For example, I ran (actually mainly walked) my 5K last year in 44:32, so my goal for this year is to bust through 40 minutes (I figure it’s a realistic goal, but will still be a challenge as my goal is to run as much of it as I can). If you have the opportunity to do one, go for it!!!

Tigarlily1
~ Just because you saw that 5 lbs. this morning does not necessarily mean it will stay. You may just still be dehydrated from drinking this weekend, so focusing on getting your water in and watching your calorie intake is probably exactly what you need to do. Keep your head up and keep pushing along, you’ve done great so far! Remember, we’re here as your teammates, to cheer you through your successes and help pick you up when you’re down. You’ll get through this and may be surprised at the results you see in the next week or so!

Today’s Question~ What is your favorite low-fat/low-cal snack?

Mine would definitely be 100 cal popcorn with some white cheddar flavoring sprinkled on it.

So I’m turning diehard and loving every second of it. I argued with myself all the way home about whether or not I should do my last week 3 C25K workout or if I should wait until Tuesday (today) and just start week 4, skipping my last week 3 workout. I was going off from the 22 degrees Fahrenheit I saw on my dashboard and arguing with myself about whether or not it would be good for me to run in such cold weather (with the windchill, it was definitely in the teens). So I got home, layered up in sweats and took off! I was amazed at how great it feel during the actual workout. I even went for a three mile walk after dinner too!

Standing in front of the mirror this morning I was curious about inches, so I grabbed my tape measure and quickly measured my waist expecting like a ½ inch difference from the beginning of this month (I measure “officially” on the first of every month)…. Nope, try a 2 inch loss!!! In one month!!! It may not be showing as much on the scale, but damn! That’s more inches then I have lost since I started total!!!

I’m psyched!

Happy Tuesday everyone!!!
