Xmas exercise

ive been banned from working out christmas day....
how else can i get to move more....
i plan a walk in the afternoon....
and lots of journeys around the house during the day....
its going to feel so strange not working out....
all ideas gratefully received!....

You can take christmas day off from working out right?

otherwise I would recommend a DVD...there is a lot of 30 minute ones...

a walk seems like enough though

i say just take the day off and enjoy it. Its just one day

First, take the day off and don't worry about it, if that's what you want. A day off is NOT bad. It's good for your body.

OTOH, I got up Thanksgiving morning and ran a 5K (on my own, not in an official race), and that felt great. I'm thinking I'm gonna love doing that on holidays. So if you really think it would feel great to get up early and exercise, do it. It's your life.

But sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between "I would really enjoy a workout on Christmas morning", vs "I can't take a day off without feeling guilty." You have to figure out which one is going on.

And the walk after the big meal is a great idea, regardless of any other workout. It just feels good. I did that with my sister last year after the Thanksgiving meal. Not only did the activity feel great, I got a lovely visit with her.

No need to exercise on Christmas! Holidays don't count as exercise days!

I agree take the day off!! Its Christmas after all!

kelly315 12-08-2008 11:20 AM

I would recommend just enjoying your day off. If it bothers you so much that it's harder to enjoy your christmas without working out that day, explain it to your family and just do a 20 minute video.

ive decided to do 20 minutes extra the day before and 20 minutes extra the day after....
im sure i wont feel so guilty then....
although i am in maintenance so i shud be relieving a little bit....

your original goal weight was 126, and now you weigh 112. So yeah, I think NOT working out would be good, at least for one day.

im starting to think i need help....
cos i ate two party sausage rolls and 2 home made fruit cakes extra today....
i felt like i had to workout 40 mins extra to burn them off....

No rudeness intended at all, but maybe you do. You seem to be taking it a little overboard. Maybe talking with a therapist or something might help, I do NOT want to see an eating disorder develope over this. You are skinny. 112 pounds is TINY at most heights.

sh3l5 12-09-2008 03:50 PM

my original target/goal was 140....

raw23 12-09-2008 03:54 PM

Hey! So what do you mean... "your banned from working out on christmas"?? Is someone concerned about you and wants you to cool it? Why are you banned?

sh3l5 12-09-2008 03:57 PM

my father thinks i workout too much as it is....
i dont take a day off during the week....
and he feels that christmas day should be the one i take off....
that i spend the whole day with the family....
and enjoy myself....

jahjah1223 12-09-2008 04:44 PM

Take a day off and try to enjoy it .. im with you on the guilt thing though it happens to me which makes me thin i also need help at times.
