Hey!

I feel your pain -- I'm a medical student as well. The hardest days to avoid the free lunch are the ones when rounds took FOREVER and there's mandatory noon conference with lunch provided. Like many of the other people here stated, I try to pick the healthiest stuff and stick to that and I also try to bring lunch most days. When I think about how I took the time and money to make the lunch and all that jazz, I'm more inclined to eat it. The other annoying part about it is that everyone looks at you funny when they see you're not partaking in the lunch. LOL.

Please know that you are NOT alone in the war against unhealthy free lunch!

I had to have my gallbladder removed right after I started law school so I learned very quickly to say no to the free food. There is always a cost to free food and normally it's in your waist. I learn that the best thing for me to do is to bring my lunch everyday. The last thing I do before bed is to pack my lunch for the next day that way it is very easy to say no to free food.
