On average how many lbs per week does everyone lose. I am trying to get a feel for what is the average. Just so I feel like I am normal and just not really slow.
I started counting calories again on Wed. and I have lost about 1.5 does that sound right. It just seems like not a lot at all. but I know...I didn't get this way over night, So it is not going to come off fast either. I need to be more patient with myself.
I went out with the girls last night to a club and seeing all the cute clothes and the things I really just can't wait too fit in makes me so anxious and want to lose fast, but I know I shouldn't. I know I need to lose it slow and steady!
One to two pounds a week is great. That's healthy & it's the best rate to keep the weight off. Losing more than that is not healthy & you will just wind up gaining it all back if you aren't careful. I'd say 1.5 since Wednesday is pretty dang good. Don't forget though that you will have weeks that you lose more & weeks when you will lose less or nothing at all. It all averages out - you just gotta keep at it!
I lose about 2 pounds per week- although it's not a perfect pattern, I've lost about 16 pounds in the last 8 weeks, so I think that's a long enough time to make a good estimate.
I've averaged about 2 pounds per week since starting back in December of last year. However, during that time I've had weeks where I've lost little to nothing, high loss weeks, and occasionally a gain. The more you have to lose, the more you need to look at the overall trends. If it's going down (overall) that's what you're looking for.
I lose between 1-3lbs a week. It really depends. This past week I only lost about a 1 1/2lbs, but the two weeks before I lost 3.3lbs & 3.6lbs. When I started I lost 2lbs on average. I up'd my calorie intake, surprisingly, and starting losing more.
I've been lucky enough to lose at a pretty fast rate for most of my weight loss so far--like 3-4 lbs a week, sometimes more, and almost no weeks without losses. BUT as this thread shows, everyone's bodies respond differently to WL, so it's really hard to use other people's results to try to predict what your body will do... Lol I'm sure that's not what you want to hear, but yeah. Also, I've recently noticed that since I got into Onederland (or thereabouts) I seem to be losing at a much slower rate, so it also depends on how much you have left to lose and all that. But I believe the "average" is supposed to be 1% of your body weight per week, so in theory you might expect to lose ~2.3 lbs a week, if you're totally OP. But again, it's really hard to predict! Just try to roll with the punches, hehe.
Like Meredith said... everyone's body responds differently, so it really depends. And I agree with her, the more you have to lose, the more quickly it'll go initially. Once you start getting down around your absolute goal weight, the rate of loss is more likely to slow up.
That being said, I think this thread's made it pretty clear that the AVERAGE is about two lbs a week, lol.
Some weeks I lose 3, some weeks I lose none... it balances out to an average for ME of about 1.5-2 lbs a week.
Mine bounces around so much from day to day, I can't keep track of it. I go primarily by my weekly measurements, and for weight I usually just take down my weight every day during the month, then average it on the last day to see how much I lost.
The first two months when I quit taking the pill is when I saw the biggest drop in my weight. The first month I dropped 18lbs before I could even blink, the next month I dropped another 12 then 10, and 10 again and now i'm kinda stalling out since 1.) I don't have much left to lose except this little pooch under my belly button, and 2.) because Nini loves gingerbread cookies and peanut butter brownies a little too much to just say no during the holidays.

When I first began losing weight, I was losing weight faster than I am now, around a stone (14lbs) a month, through regular exercising and consuming around 1200 - 1500 calories a day. I think I was much more strict than I am now, but it worked really well for me at the time and helped me stick with it because I was seeing really great results.
Like most other people have said, I think I generally lose about 2 - 3lbs a week, sometimes more, sometimes less. I don't count calories, although I do have a fairly good idea how how many I've eaten (counting in the past made me aware of the calories in most of the things I consume). I exercise 2 to 3 times a week. My weight can be erratic sometimes - the other day I stepped on the scales in the morning and weighed 3lbs less than the previous morning, probably due to water retention or how late last night I ate a meal!
To me, 1 - 3lbs a week seems like a healthy and very achievable weekly loss to aim for.
I average around 2 lbs a week but I have had a week where I gained and many weeks of losing nothing. I typically have 2 weeks of 3-4 pound losses and then two weeks of no loss (on and before TOM) I really try not to focus on pounds lost though. (although that is great) I want to be able to run faster, longer, and that is something I have a lot more control over!
