I have written down and calculated all measurements, and will be posting them into the main Biggest Loser thread first thing after this post. Did anyone hear something of Marineswife? I think she didn't post in this thread at all yet (but it wouldn't be the first time I overlooked something...).

I really like that our team is so varied in different aspects: things we do in life, weight goals, new and older forum users.

Anti222: Your plan for the week sounds great! Just stick to it and I'm sure you'll lose some.

JessieCat: If I set any more goals for myself I'm not sure I'll be able to keep track of everything :P. No, I'm not against goals, but I think we should all agree on them. I don't want to pressure someone into exercising more than they have time for. The drinking water thing sounds like a good idea. I forgot to drink today and came out of class with a nasty headache. Maybe everyone could set a goal for themselves and we will use this thread to keep each other accountable for it? My goal is drinking at least 1.5 L of water each day.

I just came back from the supermarket and I bought tomatoes, tomato puree and a cauliflower. That is all (no, I eat things besides veggies, I just had that part of my meal at home already :P). My plan for tonight was making wraps with the aubergine-garlic puree I have in my freezer, with the tomatoes. Then I thought "But I am missing meat. Maybe nuts would be fitting?" So I went over to the nut section and before tossing a packet of pistachios in my basket I read the nutrition facts, just to be sure. HOLY CRAP 600 calories for 100 gram! And then to think that I could easily consume 400 grams (about 1 lb) of pistachios in one sitting! It used to be my favorite comfort food... well not any more I guess. Even chocolate is better. Goodbye dear pistachios... I'll miss you :(. I'll go with chicken breast instead.

Anti222 11-17-2008 11:03 AM

Mmm...I love pistachios! I like the ones still in their shells that are completely drowned in salt. Only ever eat them at Christmas though and only have a handful as I get fed up opening the shells after a few :D

I have some wraps at home that I need to eat soon but I had them for dinner last night and I had the leftovers for lunch too so I'm a bit bored of them now. They were good though, I stir-fried some peppers and onions with a jalapeno and oregano dry mix and put that in them with some tomato salsa. Only about 150 cals each too so I had 2 for lunch, yum! :)

I'll try to keep count of the amount of water I drink but I usually don't think about it :?: Thinking about it now though, I suppose I drink about 1.5 litres a day. I have 4-5 mugs of green tea or oolong tea at work (some people say not to count that towards water intake because it's dehydrating but I do anyway...I can't imagine anything that makes me run off to the bathroom so many times in a day can be dehydrating me ;) ). I also drink a massive glass of water with my dinner, take a glass to bed with me (it's cold here at night so I watch TV in bed with a glass of water to try to avoid snacking) and drink loads when I exercise too. Anyway, after all that rambling, yes, I'll keep track of what I drink :D

JessieCat 11-17-2008 12:02 PM

That is crazy about the pistachios!!
I made a delicious lunch but left it at my front door..ugh! I never do that. So I am going to eat some cereal today.. the healthist option at our not so healthy cafeteria.. I will read more and catch up later.

I'm going to sleep now... I'm so tired it's not even funny. My eyes are closing of their own accord.

The aquarobics was nice but the instructor had thought of all kinds of exercises that made almost go my head down the water all the time. Well - I don't like that much. It invokes a panic reaction with me and I can't be the only one with that problem. And then he becomes pissed when people don't comply with his instructions. At least I could channel my anger into a very active workout :). The little children that have swimming lessons in the pool before us stayed looking through the window. It was so cute! We probably look ridiculous but they were really interested.

Good luck girls, and stay strong!

JessieCat 11-17-2008 05:31 PM

I didn't think water aerobics usually required you to put your head under water?? that is strange! Today was weird... I was feeling super hypoglycemic.. I broke out into a sweat and I had to go to the cafeteria and get something to eat. I got a kashi granola bar and felt 100% better! That hasn't happened to me I think in 2 years or so!
Anyway, well I will be on the computer most of the night, so post if you are around!:)

how was everybody's first day of the challenge? mine went really well, although i didn't get to exercise :( i usually exercise in the morning before i get my daughter up, but i had to get up early today for the training, so exercise didn't happen. i bet you are thinking, "why don't you exercise tonight?" well then answer to that is that the training last until 4, i had to pick up my daughter from the sitter, get my dog and take her to the vet to get her stitches out. plus it started snowing today so it made people drive slower. i just got home. it's 8:00. i just want to have a light dinner and play with my daughter some. tomorrow will be different. morning will be normal so i will be able to get up and exercise. i don't have to work late and there is nothing going on so i can also exercise in the evening (i usually do both when i can). eating wise i did great today! i'm pretty proud of that considering there was candy and cookies at the training. the girls i went with ate some, but not me. it just wasn't worth it!

i don't really have much of an opinion on setting a goal for us. i only drink water. i keep a 32 oz. cup that i refill throughout the day. i usually drink one cup for each time i exercise, one with breakfast, one with lunch, one with dinner, and then i sip in b/t meals. i would say i average about 100 oz. a day? that's my best guess. if it is an exercise goal, like i said, i usually exercise in the mornings monday-saturday (unless something prevents me) for 30 minutes and again in the evenings 3-4x's a week for 30 minutes to an hour (depending on what i do).

i'm ready for day 2! keep up the good work ladies!!

JessieCat 11-17-2008 08:34 PM

My first day was great. I didn't work out either.. I needed a break from working out 5 days straight.. my muscles get sore. I also try to work out in the morning... but I felt so sore and was so tired. Tomorrow... I am definitely working out. I actually kind of look forward to it. I do a tae bo dvd and it is actually kind of fun!
1 day down.. 29 more to go!:carrot:

jmb1981 11-17-2008 09:06 PM

i love tae-bo! i can't do it like i used to be able to, but i'm getting there! i usually do that one in the evenings, about 3x's a week. the rest of the time i do a walk away the pounds video. gets me moving and gets my heart rate up. i definitely look forward to working out! i feel weird if i don't!

Anti222 11-18-2008 02:25 AM

Morning ladies!

The first day was ok, I managed to do a brisk 1.5 mile walk so I don't feel quite so bad for not doing the 30DS last night. I had intended to do it but I had such a bad day, then I got home and my fiancé told me he's going to Germany for 3 days in December to visit some friends and he thought I knew we were going. I didn't know we were going and now there's no chance of me getting the time off work so GRRRR he's going without me. He's going with my friends too, seems they all thought someone else had told me :( Then he fell up the stairs and I laughed a lot (he laughed a lot too....I'm not THAT cruel ;) ) but then had to listen to him whinge all night because he had a small red mark on his shin. Then my friend phoned me and I had to listen to him whinge for half an hour. After all that I was so fed up I went to bed early.

Anyway, today will be better :) Still going to do my 1.5 mile walk and will do the 30DS when I get home. I WILL! :carrot: Go Orange Team!

JessieCat 11-18-2008 08:28 AM

Jmb- I know exactly what you mean! I did my tae bo dvd this morning (Billy Blank.. remember him!!?) It was fantastic. I feel amazing.
Anti222- I'm sorry but I was laughing when I read your post about your fiance complaining about a small red mark on his shin.... hahaha that is funny. BTW when are you getting married? do you have a dress yet?? details!!!
(Not that I am happy he did that but the way you wrote everything made me laugh!) I am sorry you can't go to Germany. That is diasppointing!
I guess Marineswife is MIA??? I hope she is ok. Well no patients in the morning so I will be on here a lot! (avoiding doing work haha)

Anti222 11-18-2008 08:51 AM

Well, today's going well so far. Having lunch at the moment, comes to 450 cals (not including the satsuma I may or may not have) and I had a banana for a snack earlier as I my stomach was rumbling :)

JessieCat: My fiancé and I have been together for about 6 years now. We've been engaged for 4 of them and STILL don't have a date for the wedding! We also have a few issues to work through before we set a date but when we finally do, I'm going to make sure I can fit into the dress I want! (When I finally find one :D )

JessieCat 11-18-2008 10:08 AM

What is satsuma? Ugh I am so bored and it is only 10:00 here! We have down time this morning and I forgot my iPod and my books so I can't even just chill out and read! I will do that next time.. it makes the day go by faster! So i have 2 hours till lunch and I am doing anything I can to not get any work done. love that motivation! Just as long as I am motivated to lose the weight, that is all I care about now.
Ok well I should do at least an hour of work hehe:rolleyes:

Anti222 11-18-2008 10:29 AM

A satsuma's a small orange, like a clementine or a mandarin. I don't really know what the differences are, I just guess :) I did end up eating it as I got bored. Just under 2 hours 'til I go home...suppose I'd better finish my work. Joy. :dz:

jmb1981 11-18-2008 11:05 AM

i was wondering what a satsuma is too. i'm not real sure what the difference in with all those citrus fruits! i usually go for clementine's or a regular old orange. right now my family is on an apple kick. we re-discovered them. i'm really enjoying the honeycrisp apples (actually i am eating one right now). they are yummy!

so far today is going well. i got in my morning exercise and haven't had any "snack attacks" at this point. i don't forsee one in the future either!

jessiecat: i am so with you on wanting this day to get going! it's 11:00 now, the day is actually going pretty fast. i have been doing anything and everything to keep busy. talking with co-workers, visiting with families, doing mileage and time sheets, so far it is working! we have a meeting from 11:30-1 and then i have a child abuse training from 2-3 and then i am going home! i am planning on doing tae bo tonight. hope billy is ready to get me moving! he annoys me sometimes when he is yelling about counting and getting louder and all that :) i love it though!

Elwing 11-18-2008 01:26 PM

Hi everyone!

It's evening here but I still need to eat my evening meal. I had an appointment that took a lot longer than I expected. I had a great run this morning (20 min running - 5 min walking - 15 min running). I think I'd be able to run 30 minutes straight by now! (I might have to skip some steps in my schedule and just do it, if I want to hit my november fitness goal...) Then up to the university till 17:30. Problem was, by this time my stomach was rumbling and I didn't have any food left. Do you know that feeling - "I need to eat something - now - don't care what it is."? I had that feeling and ended up eating a 30 gr bag of crisps (the least bad choice at my student's association, I'm not kidding you). It's only 161 cal so I should be able to fit it in.

And now I'm going to make my cauliflower curry because I'm hungry again. Speak to you all soon!

Oh, and I just love satsuma's :). Those things are called mandarines in Dutch; I thought that was the English word too but then I noticed nobody ever used it.
